George Galanti

~•~

I had a lot of work to do at the office, so I had to leave early for work. Going to the office wasn’t as exciting as before because I didn’t get to see Abigail’s face anymore.

Ever since I went to her house and asked for a contract marriage, we hadn’t spoken much. I was starting to think I had made a mistake by making it seem I wanted to pay her just to get married to me.

I said I was going to let her think but I couldn’t wait anymore. I decided I was going to call her after work to find out how she felt about the whole situation.

Every decision I made was actually in her best interest, I wanted to protect her and protect my incoming child. The world was cruel enough and I didn’t want the media to find out she was having a child out of wedlock. They were going to eat her alive and I didn’t want to watch her go through something as terrible as that.

I brushed off my thoughts and parked my car in the driveway of my company. I got into my office and my assistant ha

Abigail Hayes ~•~George was good at keeping promises. As soon as I asked, he had transferred the money to my account. He told me he was going to transfer the rest after I signed the contract. I didn’t really care about the rest of the money. I just wanted to be able to afford my mother’s treatments. I told him not to worry about the rest but he insisted on keeping his end of the bargain. He was supposed to meet me today, but I had to take my mother to the hospital. George had gone as far as finding one of the best doctors to treat my mom. I was thankful for it.My mother questioned the source of the money but I dismissed it and told her it was from my savings. When she reminded me that I was not rich enough to have fifty grand sitting in my bank account, I then told her part of it was from the loan I took from the bank. It wasn’t like I liked lying to her. I just couldn’t tell her I got paid to get married.I stayed with her as the doctor told us the process of her treatment. She h

Abigail Hayes~•~I was going out a lot these days because I was accompanying my mother to the hospital, which was why when George invited me out to a cafe, I declined and said he could come to my apartment instead. It was most likely a bad decision but I didn’t give myself time to think about it. I had already invited him here and I couldn’t take it back. The doorbell rang and unlike the last time, I didn’t wait for it to ring a second time before I opened it. “Hey.” I breathed out.He was still in his work clothes but he had ditched the jacket and tie and his sleeves were rolled up showcasing his muscular arms. “Hey, how are you doing?” George inquired as he entered and closed the door behind him.“I’m fine.” I smiled shyly. It was the first time I saw him after I agreed to marry him. Technically, we were engaged and he knew exactly why I accepted his proposal.“And your mom?”My heart tugged at the fact that he actually cared about how my mom was doing even if he had never met her.

Abigail Hayes ~•~When I first told Maya that I was getting married to George, she screamed. Then, she asked if I was serious to which I answered positively. At first, she was skeptical about it but after I explained exactly what had happened between us in the past few months, she was happy that I was getting married. She didn’t care that a contract was involved. She was just happy to be a bridesmaid and to see me walking down the aisle.Too many things were happening at the time and I was feeling overwhelmed by everything. I had always dreamt about having the perfect wedding even if I never talked about it with anyone. It was one of my fantasies. And in my fantasy dream, I didn’t see myself getting pregnant before getting married or even having a contract marriage. At least, I had enough money to take care of my mum. She was getting treatments from one of the best doctors in New York. All thanks to George. I got up from the bed and made my way to the bathroom to have a nice and r

Abigail Hayes~•~The party was held anyway. And Olivia was in attendance. She told me it was her first time at a club but I doubted it because she was acting like a natural. It seemed like she had been in here before. It made me wonder how easy it was to fool the bouncers for a bunch of young teenagers to be let in without a chaperone.Maya took the honors of renting a room and we kept things light because I was pregnant after all. I couldn’t drink but at least I could dance with my friends.Maya had invited three other girls we met in college, Everleigh, Emery, and Evelyn, and all six of us partied together. Three of them were triplets and that was why their names all started with E. They were identifiable though as none of them looked like the other.“If Maya didn’t call me today, I would never have known you were getting married.” Emery, one of the triplets, spoke up, shouting so she could be heard above the loud music. I shot her a weak smile. When I said family and friends, I r

Abigail Hayes~•~“You look like you didn’t get any sleep last night,” George commented as soon as I opened the door to the passenger’s seat and got in. For some reason unknown to me, he was driving the car that I used to drive while I was working with him but I decided not to say anything about it.“Thank you,” I responded sarcastically and he chuckled.“When did you get home last night?”I couldn’t even remember. “I can’t recall. I think four or five in the morning.” I’d forgotten I had to be on the road around eight to get to the hospital. My mother was getting discharged today. She wasn’t done with her treatment but she was done with the first process.I was more than happy she didn’t get to the point where it couldn’t be treated anymore before telling us about it. Olivia eventually found out about it the day she found out I was getting married since my mom had to be hospitalized the next day. She cried a lot but she was happy our mom was being treated as well. She had been living

Abigail Hayes~•~Since my mother was satisfied with the man I was getting married to, George and I had been able to set up a date for the family meeting. Weddings were crazy and hard to plan, even the ones as small as the one wanted to hold. I was tempted to call it off and just go to court instead. We could just register our marriage and move on with our lives. We didn’t have to go through all these troubles. The meeting between both families was happening tomorrow while I was going shopping with George the day after that. It was one of the rare days I had to myself and as usual, I planned to waste it inside my room, curled up in a blanket, and enjoying the remnants of my singlehood. That was until I got a call from Patrick, asking to hang out.I didn’t know what he was still doing in New York. Sure, his father lived here but he was mostly based in Miami. Was he finally going to take over his father’s business? He asked me out to the arcade and when I met him there, the first ques

Abigail Hayes~•~Wow.“Wowww.” Olivia echoed my thoughts. I knew George was from a rich family but that didn’t mean I wasn’t surprised to see his childhood home. It wasn’t huge but it was expensive and we hadn’t seen the inside yet.George and I had agreed to have dinner at his house. It was just a formal meeting between the parents so we didn’t have to go out or anything. Besides, if a random person found out about a meeting like this, it would make it onto the tabloids. No one wanted that kind of attention.I was grateful George was the kind of man who tried so hard not to leave digital traces of himself. It meant not many people recognized him.“Are we going to continue staring at the house or are we going to go in?” My mother asked, breaking Olivia and me from our trance. She couldn’t blame us. We liked pretty things and the house was as pretty as they came.It got us moving anyway. We walked up the decorated porch until we got to the door, but before I could ring the doorbell,

Abigail Hayes ~•~I was actually getting married. Like for real, it wasn’t a dream or anything. I was going to be a wife and a mother. A year back, I wouldn’t have imagined my life would turn out this way this soon. Since the date of the wedding was getting closer, I needed to shop for a wedding dress. I was excited about that part. I had asked Maya and Olivia to accompany me since George would be busy. He had taken a lot of time off and needed to put things in order before our honeymoon where he would take more time off while I wanted extra opinions to help me pick the perfect wedding dress. It was still very early in the morning, I had woken up early because I slept early the previous night. Dinner finished early and I crashed as soon as I got home. Slowly, I got up from my bed and went to the living room. I didn’t have anything to do and I was tired of staying in bed. I turned on the TV and put on my favorite show. After that, I picked up my phone and dialed George’s number. G

George Galanti~•~I never thought there’d be a time when I would hate working, but I hated it a lot recently because it kept me away from my wife. She was so close yet so far away. It was distracting.I straightened up when the door to my office suddenly opened. “Mr. Galanti, what can I do for you this time?”I held back a laugh. This was the seventh time I was calling her into my office and it was only ten in the morning. “I don’t know, Mrs. Galanti. What can you do for me?”Abigail shot me an irritated look. “I’m beginning to regret working for you again.”“It’s been two months since you resumed. You should be used to it by now.”After months of pleading with her, Abigail finally agreed to be my secretary again, but it was part-time this time around. She usually clocked off by one so she could attend her baking classes.I was happy she was finally doing what she wanted but baking classes introduced her to more people. She had more friends and less time for me because she had to han

Abigail Hayes~•~A few weeks later, there was news that Micheal Rivera was being held in prison while being investigated because he had done much more than kill my father and strip people of their businesses. In his lifetime, he had changed his last name about six times, the first one being as soon as he turned eighteen. I didn’t know what kind of sad life he had that he had to change his name as soon as possible and I didn’t care to know his story.Whatever was wrong with his childhood didn’t give him the right to kill my father. I was more than happy when George forwarded the news to me and I forwarded it to my mother who called me to express her happiness and gratitude.Music was blasting from the speakers and I was doing a little dance while I played around with flour. I was getting better at making pastries. I could make a doughnut now but I was still experimenting with the toppings.I was so in my head that I didn’t hear it when the front door opened nor did I hear footsteps un

Abigail Hayes~•~I had said this a hundred times but I was going to keep repeating it.George was a stubborn man.I had told him not to worry about my family because I was going to take care of them by myself but he insisted on searching for a new house with a better security and smoke system. He could have just made one for the current house but according to him, part of it was gone and could fall anytime. I agreed with him on that.He told me that if I didn’t agree, he was going to find one behind my back, so I had no choice but to go house hunting with him.My mom was going to be mad, but I was going to emotionally blackmail her into accepting it. I would only be assured after they had settled down in a safe environment.“What are you going to do about him?” I questioned as we drove to our next destination. He knew exactly who I was talking about. I didn’t even have to call a name. “He’s in the midst of a name change again.”“How do you know that?”“I have eyes on him.” George shr

The tub was big enough to accommodate four people so we could do whatever we wanted. She leaned toward me again, placing both of her legs on both sides of mine so she could sit on my lap. Both of us were already naked and in the water. “The walls are quite thick but you’ll have to be quiet anyway,” I informed her.She loved to act like I had a high sex drive that she couldn’t keep up with but she was even worse than me. If I wasn’t so in love with her that I was almost obsessed with her body, I didn’t think I would have been able to keep up with her.W

Abigail Hayes~•~George’s mother was absolutely surprised when she saw all six of us pull up to her house. George assured her we’d be done by tomorrow; not all of us though, everyone except Olivia and my mom.My mom said they would also leave the next day and find a hotel to stay at until they figured something out. Maya then said her offer was still available, which led to another round of arguments. However, George’s mother was welcoming enough that she insisted they both stay there for the meantime. His father was also accommodating. He figured they could use this as a chance for both families to bond.I didn’t mind, but I thought they’d be inconveniencing them. George thought otherwise.Dinner was rowdy and everyone was talking at once. Olivia recounted the story about how she perceived the smell of the fire and was confused for a second. She thought her senses were playing tricks on her but as soon as she told our mom, mom told her to take her valuables outside and call the fire

George Galanti~•~All of us had to leave because we were all worried. We hadn’t even touched our food but we didn’t have time to pack them home so Charles just paid the bill and we were on our way to Abigail’s childhood home. She was worried as fuck and even if she knew her mother and sister were safe, she was still close to crying. I didn’t blame her. I would lose my shit if I found out my parents were in danger.Charles drove as fast as the speed limit would allow and it seemed like it was high enough because it didn’t take too long before we arrived at the place. The car hadn’t even properly come to a stop before Abigail was running out of it. I was worried she’d fall but even with the heels, she landed safely.Maya and I exited the car and allowed Charles to find somewhere to park. There was a fire truck in front of the house but no ambulance and I was happy about that.By the time I reached the front of the house, Abigail was in a deep embrace with her mother and sister. George Galanti~•~Charles was a nervous wreck. It was amusing to watch. We were on our way to pick up Maya and Charles was the one driving, hoping he would impress her with his car. Abigail and I sat in the backseat.I suggested we take our own car but Abigail said it was more fun this way. I had no choice but to agree. The only reason I was even going on this double date was because Charles begged me. He didn’t want to be with her alone for fear that he would say something wrong and if he didn’t have anything to say, he hoped Abigail would keep her company.Little pussy.“Will it be too much if I open the door for her?” Charles asked from the driver's seat.Who overthought opening the car door for a lady? It was a simple gesture and basic courtesy. Why would he think it was too much? I wanted to respond to him, but luckily for him, Abigail did instead because I would have ended up insulting him. “She’d like it if you opened the door for her.”He looked at her through the rearview mi

It was just me and Maya left so we didn’t spend much time at the bar.”“Hmm.” He eyed me warily. “Are you drunk?”I shook my head, smiling. “Not at all.” He walked up to me and took the bags from my hand. “Why didn’t you call me to come help you downstairs?”“I’m here, aren’t I?” I chuckled before properly looking at him. He was still dressed in his work attire. “Are you just coming back from work?”He nodded, leaning down to kiss me shortly. “There was no use coming back when you wouldn’t be home.” I shook my head and followed him as he carried the shopping bags to our room. “Can I see them?”George was an adorable husband. I nodded. “The pink bag is for Olivia,” I informed him as I took it from the bed and carried it into the closet. There, I stripped off my clothes and put them in the hamper before taking one of Geo

Abigail Hayes ~•~When we got into the store, we made our way to the clothing section first. We browsed through the racks of clothes, trying to find what we liked. “I’m sorry about your pregnancy.” Emery sympathized with me, her eyes focused on my flat stomach. I wasn’t expecting it but it was normal because everyone would notice I wasn’t with a baby anymore. I was supposed to be showing by now.Flashing an awkward smile, I responded. “Thank you I guess.” “I’m sorry we didn’t come to visit you when it happened.” Evelyn chimed in and I shot her a weak smile. “It’s okay. At least you guys are here now.” I said, trying my best not to show how uncomfortable I was with the conversation. I didn’t even need any sympathy visit from them or anybody. I didn’t even see my sister and mum for over a week when it happened. I didn’t want the happy mood to change with them reminding me of what I lost. I was trying to move on from the situation and accept my fate. “What do you guys think about
