It was a few months after Dmitri's birthday and Casey and her had planned to go for a girl's day out, just the two of them, since they hadn't had one of those in what felt like forever.
"I'll be there in a few. I'm on my way over."
"Case! How many times do I need to tell you not to talk on the phone while driving?" Trinity chastised her best friend.
"Chill, Tri. It's on speaker. My eyes are on the road. Are you ready yet?" Casey asked and Trinity could almost feel her rolling her eyes.
"I'm ready. How long-" Trinity cut off abruptly as she heard a loud scream on the other before the line went dead.
"Casey?! Case? Hello?" Trinity shouted into the phone, terrified for her friend.
She quickly called her again only for it go straight to voicemail.
