"Dad?" I whispered into the phone, my hands shaking. I waited for a reply but the line was left silent.

"Dad please talk to me." I stood from my chair and walked towards my floor to ceiling window, trying to find reception even though knew the problem couldn't possibly be the reception, I could here my dad breathing faintly on the other line.
