Kevin stopped laughing at once. “Look I’m sorry-“

“Fuck off!” I yelled throwing my spoon at him.

I went to stand by the window, looking down at

the busy streets.

He came to stand besides me.

“ I’m not laughing at you,” he said softly. “I swear. I just find it funny he could leave a woman like you for someone like Anna. I mean come on! I thought it was with someone at least half as hot as you, I mean, have you seen her?”

“That’s my sister you are talking about.” I snapped.

“I am sorry. Really. Betrayal is horrible. But hey, he isn’t much of a loss. You should be pleased to be rid of the backstabbing asshole.”

“Why do I end up with cheats?” I cried. “ What is wrong with me?”

“Nothing. Nothing is wrong with you. Everything is wrong with them.” Kevin soothed me.
