Caught in the act
Luisa's POV I met a young lady sitting behind the receptionist's desk by the time I arrived at the company. She wasn't the same person I often see. "Welcome, young lady. How can I help you?" She asked with a smile, her tone polite and firm. "Is Mr. Sanchez in? I came to see him" I replied. She sized me up and inquired. "Do you have an appointment with him or is he expecting you?" "No, he isn't" I replied, taking a deep breath. "You know, this isn't the first time I'm coming here to see him. I'm his fiancee." Her mouth widened in disbelief as she stared at me in shock. "You're Luisa Fernanda, the model and TV personality everyone's talking about" She gasped in shock, giggling in excitement. "I'm so sorry. I didn't recognize you because of your sunglasses. You're welcome... We...." "Can I see him now?" I asked, cutting her off. She nodded her head vigorously. "Definitely. I'm sorry for wasting your time. I'm sure you know where his office is or would you like me to show you the way?" "No, it's fine. I can vividly remember the way" I replied with a dismissive wave of my hand. I strutted into the elevator and pressed the button to the third floor. As it moved, my mind drifted back to my manager's words. I met Diego in college. I didn't like him at first, but he was so persistent that I had to give in. He knew about my sister's death but never held it against me. I wouldn't deny the fact that I also fell into depression, but Diego was there for me during that period. I fell deeply in love with him. Yes, my social status was higher than his, but it didn't matter. I felt he loved me but couldn't take our relationship to the next level, so I made the bold decision to take the first step. Guess what? I proposed to him on Valentine's Day; a very funny move, but he said yes. To confirm Mr. Torres' words, I also bought two tickets to the Maldives. We spent a whole month there, but ever since we came back, Diego kept claiming to be busy with work. That was the main reason why I decided to make this visit a surprise. The elevator finally stopped and opened, I walked out and headed straight to Diego's office with a bright smile on my face. I was so eager to knock but stopped when I heard hush voices coming from inside. "You don't love her, do you?" A female voice asked. "No, I don't. I love only you" A male voice replied. That male voice sounded so familiar that I couldn't help but shudder in fear. It wasn't what I was thinking. No, it was impossible. Maybe they were talking about something else or I was just hearing voices. Well, the only way to confirm was to go in. I didn't bother knocking again, I simply twisted the doorknob slightly and walked in. "Diego" I stood by the door of the office as I whispered his name. He didn't hear me. I mean, how could he? He was right there, kissing a woman lustfully. Not just any woman, but his assistant; the same lady I warned him about. They kissed passionately, their moans were so loud that my eardrums vibrated strongly. I felt a pang of anger and pain as I stared at them. I couldn't watch the heartbreaking sight anymore. "Diego!" I screamed out in anguish, and the two of them froze. The moment they saw me, they separated with the slutty assistant hiding behind my fiancé's back. "How dare you?" I yelled at the top of my lungs. The cheat quickly buttoned up his shirt, oblivious to the red lipgloss stain on it. "I promise you, Luisa. It does not want it looks like" He said as he rushed to me and grabbed my shoulders, but I wasn't having it. I retaliated with a wicked slap; the sound resonating through the room. "What then does it look like? I caught you having an affair with your assistant, and you tell me it's not what it looks like" I cried out, breaking down in tears. "Who do you think I am? A fool?" "Calm down, Luisa. I can explain" Gabriel pleaded, holding his cheek in pain. He turned to his assistant and pointed fingers at her, saying, "It was Joyce. She seduced me." "That's a big lie" Joyce shot back. "We've been together for over a month now. You called me in here yourself. Besides, you said you didn't love her anymore so the blame is on you." "What?!" I gasped in shock, breathing heavily as tears streamed down my face. "You've been cheating on me for over a month?" Diego avoided my gaze. "I'm sorry, I...." "Where's the engagement ring I gave to you?" I berated him, my eyes darting to his ring finger. To my dismay, it was bare. "I think I dropped it somewhere" Gabriel replied. "Please, you can't end our relationship. You still love me. You want to marry me." Hearing those selfish words made me weak in the knees. Those words meant I was the only obsessed one all these times. I fell on my knees, crying profusely. Instantly, I felt a sharp pain in my leg and squatted immediately. There it was, lying on the floor, the ring I had poured my heart and soul into. With trembling hands, I picked it up and rose on my feet, my heart turned cold. It was my fault for believing he loved me. I should have known better. With one last glance at the two traitors, I swiftly turned and stormed out of the office. I didn't even know when I started running. Memories of my sister drowning in that pool flooded my mind, fueling the excruciating pain in my heart. I kept on running on the highway until I bumped into something hard that sent me tumbling back until I fell on my butt. "Ouch!" I screamed out in pain. Suddenly, a large figure blocked the rays of the sun blinding my eyes. I opened my eyes clearly, only to be stunned by the gorgeous-looking man looking down at me. "Are you okay?" He asked with an angelic voice, and my heart fluttered. He extended his hands to me, and I felt the urge to take it. But, instantly, the scene of Deigo kissing his assistant flashed through my mind and I swatted his hands away. "Don't come close to me" I yelled.Flash MarriageAdrian's POV"Who's that lady running on the highway? Doesn't she know she could get hit? Thankfully, the traffic light turned red" My driver and personal assistant blabbered on and on as we waited for other vehicles to move.I exhaled heavily, fed up with hearing his voice. If it wasn't for my main driver who took a sick leave, the blabbermouth wouldn't be here disrupting my peace of mind."Shut up, Miguel" I ordered, adjusting the business magazine in my hands. "Eyes on the road.""I'm sorry, Sir, but she looks like a damsel in distress" Miguel continued.I decided to see the lady that got him running his mouth, only to be astonished by the sight. She was indeed a damsel in distress. Compared to those ladies who looked ugly when they cried, she seemed prettier."Park the car, Miguel" I demanded, feeling the need to help her."Huh... Why?" Miguel questioned, his face etched with confusion.I snorted. "You don't want her dying, do you?""No, I don't" He shook his head.

I gasped in bewilderment, running my fingers through my long brown hair. It's been hours since that stranger dropped me off, and I haven't stopped staring at the marriage certificate in my hand.I desperately felt the urge to hit my head against a wall or smash it against a stone as memories of my actions from the roadside to the courthouse resurfaced. Stupid was an understatement of how I felt."Gosh, I can't believe I got married to a stranger!" I knew it was written in it, but I just didn't care."To hell with you, Diego, and your slutty assistant" I cursed and almost bit my tongue. That traitor was the reason why I was in this mess in the first place.
