Chapter 18

Rachel

I don't know why they were this frantic.

They kept knocking on the doors to the cubicle.

If there was no sound, my pursuer would leave. They left any cubicle that had people answering with a voice that wasn't mine too.

I clenched my phone in my hand as I stared at the door.

My decision to find out about my coworkers was right but my way of executing that decision was wrong.

It brought me trouble.

It was obvious that these people that set me up had taken the cure for whatever they gave me.

Their normalcy was the reason I was deceived. It was the reason I was pressured into drinking what they offered.

My body was still showing me hell but I managed to lift the edges of my lips a little.

Those people did not force me. I was the one that let their momentum and aura get to me.

I was reaping the results of my actions now.

Sweat began covering every inch of my body. It felt like I was dunked in lukewarm water.

The sweat on my body cooled and more sweat continued coming out of my pores
