Chapter Eight: Utterly Disappointed

Wen Yunfeng sneers: “What’s wrong? Don’t you want to get divorced with me? This is a big customer. If you can satisfy him, and Wen company wins the big customer successfully, I will agree to get divorced with you.”

Gu Yan couldn’t expect that Wen Yunfeng would put forward such an outrageous requirement: “What do you want? Don’t you believe that I will agree with your shameless requirement? Do you feel happy by humiliating me like this?”

Wen Yunfeng pinches his fingers. He approaches Gu Yan and says in a low voice near her ear: “No? Aren’t you looking for a job? I have asked someone to arrange for you. Nobody dares to recruit you.”

After listening to Wen Yunfeng’s words, Gu Yan looks incredulously at the man who is proud of himself. This man is already a stranger in her eyes at this moment. He is no longer the one she loves. She has clearly observed his true face just as pushing aside the clouds and mists till then.

After that, she pushes Wen Yunfeng away, and then smiles coldly with indifference: “I won’t agree to your ridiculous requirement. I know you want to torment me. I observe your true face until now. I am really foolish. I will certainly get divorced with you. I don’t believe I will be unable to survive after leaving your company.”

Gu Yan runs to the roadside and squats down into the grass clusters. She almost has no money left, she has no job now, and the part-time job employer requires no employee at present. After hanging up, she suddenly remembers, Manla has told her that she would go on a business trip for one month one week ago. She pats her own brain.

Just after a few muddleheaded days, after paying the rent, Gu Yan completely has no money left, and she is unable to find a solution.

Gu Yan takes up the phone helplessly and finds a rather offending name. She presses the calling key.

When the phone is connected, a familiar but cold voice comes over: “Hello.”

She takes a deep breath, “Wen Yunfeng, if I agree to your requirement, will you get divorced with me and let me go?”

“How? Already made a decision? I know you are spineless. Yes, as long as you serve my customer well, I agree to get divorced with you.”

“OK. Send the information to my cellphone. I hope you can keep your words.”

“Of course.”

Gu Yan says one more sentence.

Wen Yunfeng still wants to say something, but he could only hear the toot sound. He sneers and sends a message to Gu Yan’s cellphone. Then, he throws the cellphone away.

After a short while, Gu Yan receives Wen Yunfeng’s short message: Room 810 of Nanfeng Hotel at 7:30 pm. Dress pretty.”

Wen Yunfeng, I hope this will be the end of us after tonight.

Looking at herself in the mirror, the blue evening dress outlines her beautiful figure, and the curly long hairs match well with her appropriate make-up. She is really pretty tonight. However, she is not going to attend a party, instead, she is to compromise to her future. Gu Yan doesn’t know why the event will develop to such a condition. She smiles miserably to the mirror. Really ugly.

It’s already half-past six. She puts on the high-heeled shoes and takes her bags, closes the door slowly.

She takes a taxi to the most luxury hotel in the city-Nanfeng Hotel. Gu Yan gets out of the car.

Gu Yan raises her head to look at the splendid hotel. The European-style architecture which is located in the busiest area in the city integrates romance and luxury. However, the golden light of the hotel is unable to warm up Gu Yan’s frozen heart.

When the elevator reaches the 8th floor, the Ding sound pulls the muzzy Gu Yan back to reality. She takes a deep breath and then walks out of the elevator.

She pinches her own bag tightly to conceal her nervousness.

Eventually, she goes to room 810. She takes a deep breath and stares at the Arabic numerals on the door. She bites her lips and presses the doorbell.

The door is finally opened. A man in a suit opens the door. He is about 40 years old. He is shorter than her. On seeing Gu Yan, his fat meat on face twists and his mouth corners pull up to expose the full mouth of yellow teeth. The pure white shirt is unable to cover the proud flesh on his stomach.

Gu Yan tries hard to smile stiffly: “Hello, I am Gu Yan. I am from Wen company.”

The man at the door chuckles: “Miss Gu is really pretty. I am Zhang Shi'an, the present of Zhang company.”

On hearing his introduction, Gu Yan’s face is frozen up in an instant. She regrets to have come. Zhang Shi'an?

She has heard the name. When she worked in Wen company, she used to hear her male colleagues talking about the man. The man is really wealthy. It is heard that he has a peculiar hobby for the woman. All the women he played with remained half their lives if they didn't die. He is a famous lovelace. However, because of his powerful financial condition, many people who want to report him are finally disposed by him in silence. Wen Yunfeng asks her to serve him this time. It seems that Wen Yunfeng hates her so deeply and he wants to put her into death. In the end, Gu Yan’s heart is as pale as ashes. She won’t let him realize his wishes.

Gu Yan tells Zhang Shi'an, who seems to have a smile all over the face but actually the filthy heart: “Sorry, the wrong room.”

After saying this, Gu Yan wants to escape.

However, just at this moment, Zhang Shi'an grasps her arm: “What’s wrong? Now that you have arrived, I won’t let you go. I will treat you gently because you are really a pretty girl. Come inside.”

“President Zhang, really very sorry. I get in the wrong room. Please let me go.” Gu Yan regrets to have come. She looks around, but there is nobody around her.

Zhang Shi'an doesn’t care if she gets in the wrong room or not. Anyhow, she is from Wen company. Wen company wants to talk with him for a big business lately, so he will never let go such a pretty girl.

Gu Yan tries her best to struggle. She couldn’t help crying for help as one of her legs has been pulled into the room.

Zhang Shi'an scorns and exerts more power to pull her inside on hearing her shouting.

Just when Gu Yan and Zhang Shi'an are struggling heavily, suddenly, one person comes over and strikes down Zhang Shi'an. Because Zhang Shi'an relieves her arm, Gu Yan topples and falls into a warm hug.

Gu Yan looks back at the man who saves him. However, she feels that she has met the stranger before. Who is he?

Zhang Shi'an is struck down. He covers one of his eyes and opens the other eye to see who dares to disturb him. However, he takes a deep breath after seeing clearly: “President Mo, why are you here?”
