Two hours later, Aaron walked in with Jesse and the twins.

"Mommy! See what Daddy got us," Zoey squeaked, rushing to me and showing off the pink teddy bear in her hand.

My eyes lights up as I carried her. "Nice! This is beautiful," I retorted, offering a warm smile.

My eyes shifted to Jesse and Xavier. They seemed quite close. "Jesse?" I called. "How are you enjoying your new school?" I asked, a warm smile tugged at my lips.

His eyes perks up. "I love it! Xavier's friends are so nice," Jesse chimed, his face beaming with smiles, one could easily see how genuinely happy he was.

"I'm glad you love it there," I replied.

Slowly my eyes landed on Aaron, he was smiling widely at me and that seemed to make my stomach churn erratically.

Quickly I pulled my gaze away, returning it to Xavier, who was busy talking and smiling with Jesse. "Okay sweethearts, you both need to go upstairs and freshen up, Aunty Margaret will help you with that," I said, carrying Zoey down and gesturing X
