Tom's POV
I drove out of my company's garage, a lazy grin on my face as I swerved onto the road. The invitation to the birthday party burned in my suit jacket that was sprawled over the passenger seat. I had the urge to whip it out and stare at it over and over again.
My ticket to a world of numerous possibilities. The things I could achieve, the people I could meet, I really had hit the jackpot with Adam Stone and it was worth celebrating!
Grinning widely, I sped down the road, trying to think of the nearest club to crash in. I wanted a taste of the high life. Scratch that, I wanted more than a taste. I wanted a whole scoop.
I was done with the day's work. My phone rang somewhere, resounding in the car, irritating the shit out of me. It had better not be my bitch of a secretary. I would not be returning to the office unless there was a meteor crashing into it from out of spac
Eve’s POVMy eyes lazily drifted to the clock in the living room. It was almost midnight. Tom hadn’t come home and while a part of me was worried something bad had happened to him.I wasn’t all that surprised. Tom had a knack for going off whenever he wanted, doing whatever he liked and if that meant sleeping with other women, then so be it. He was the man of the house after all.I sniffed at the thought and directed my gaze at the TV. Nuren had gone to bed an hour ago. A tiny part of me had hoped like a desperate fool that she would come sit with me and we could see a movie together or something. But that would never happen. Nuren would only get into more trouble and I would bear the brunt of it. Tom had always forbidden building any sort of friendship with the staff. I had no idea why, whatever his reasons were however, they made me feel even lonelier.&nb
Adam’s POV“Well,” Anabelle said as she ended the call, a resolute look on her face.“Well what?” I demanded, narrowing my gaze. She had better not be about to say what I was thinking or shit was going to hit the fucking fan.“The cake is going to be thirty minutes late,” Anabelle’s words put a sour taste in my mouth.“Hell no!” I hissed, clenching my hands in a fist.“What is it?!” My mother yelled from her bedroom and Anabelle shot me a warning look.I had forgotten I was standing in my mother’s hallway, waiting for her as the stylist dressed her up. She had been so teary when she found out I’d invited her favorite stylist from some TV series she used to watch, shipping the spunky lady all the way from France. I was happy if she was. Isabella Stone de
Madeline's POV"Take a deep breath Miss Black," My stylist soothed as she struggled to pull the zipper of the dress. "And suck in-"I turned over my shoulder, giving her a dead stare. "Suck in what?"I already had the flattest stomach possible. Anymore and my organs would be screaming for air. There was nothing to suck in anymore and she had better not finish the sentence or I was going to deck the shit out of her."Nothing," she mumbled quickly and focused on yanking the zipper. Good at least she got the memo. I turned back to face the mirror, staring at the black dress I wore. The dress code for the event had been black, gold and royal blue. My hands ran over the coarse material, lips curling in distaste. It was a ball gown. Tight around the waist, snatched enough to make me feel a little dizzy in the head and then billowing out on the hips. It fel
Adam’s POVA hundred rollers and three hours later, I found myself standing on the balcony of the hall where Isabella Stone’s birthday party was to be held.I ran a finger on the railing, taking note of every detail of the hall. The balcony where I stood was quite the vantage point. It was in the hall and connected to the ground floor through stairs that run on either side. However I had made sure it was reserved for me. The party had begun but I wanted some peace and quiet so I could confirm that everything was according to plan. The podium where my mother would stay when she arrived had a grand blue sofa, with a number of pillows and a nice egyptian stool.Behind the sofa, were long flowing golden curtains that draped down. They were made of pure gold, beaten into thin shimmering strands to form a curtain. The hall was in one of my hotels clos
Eve's POV"What on earth are you doing?"I looked up from my fingers to see an annoyed Tom standing at the door. I couldn't see his face clearly, because he stood against the light and looked like he was far away from where I sat on the bed.But I could feel the intense annoyance pouring off him in waves. He looked like he was itching for another opportunity to bash me.My shoulders shook in a shiver and I closed my eyes briefly. It had been three days since the crazy man I was stuck with for the rest of my miserable life, had rendered every single thing I had worked hard on in the past year to bits. He had ripped it all to shreds and made sure I regretted trying to stop him.But other than regret, there was intense simmering pain. The last drawing was all I had left of Adam. And it was gone. Just like all the other things that made me happy. My home town, my fa
Adam's POV"Fuck,"She was beautiful. Better than all my fantasies put together. The music faded into the distance, the chattering and murmurings dimmed. All I could see, all I could think about was the woman I had spent weeks longing for.She was here.Dressed in the prettiest dress I had to have seen. Gold fabric draped against her lovely frame, wrapping her around the waist snugly and then slowly trailing the delicate, dangerous curve of those hips.My mouth watered as an image of me on my knees, trailing my mouth over that soft, satiny skin, tasting her, worshiping her."No," I said to myself, trying to stop my fucking fantasies. My pants had tightened, and I had to grip the railings to keep myself from trembling like a fool and stop myself from doing something worse like march downstairs, haul her over my shoulders and c
Adam's POV"You certainly do not look a day older, Isabella,," The master of ceremony teased climbing on stage to hold my mother's hands. She sat on her grand sofa before all, looking the most relaxed and happy I had seen her in a long time. She was dressed in a gold sequined dress that gave her a haughty look. But that was until she smiled. And my mother had the loveliest of smiles. When she did, it was like a full blown gasket that made everyone's day. She flashed the MC one of those smiles and he gave a rather dramatic pause, clutching his chest."Well blimey!" He gasped, staring at the audience in shock. "I either might have just felt that smile right in my chest, or it could be my arrhythmia acting up."That sent me and the audience chuckling. The man was quite dramatic and it was hilarious to w
Adam's POVI stared at Eve in disbelief, unsure of what to say or do. She was mad at me. It was all over her face. Her chest heaving, lovely breasts rising and falling, struggling to breathe through the dress she wore. Her words rang in my head, louder, over my pounding heart.Abandoned her? Pushed her back into his arms?Did she think I had a blast doing that? That I wanted to?"I would like to use the restroom now," she said, her eyes steely as she looked at me. Her cheeks were stained with tears that racked nothing but guilt in my chest.I watched, hurt as she pulled away from me and walked towards a bathroom stall.Do something, damn it!"Did you," I began, the minute her hands reached for the door knob. "Did you think it was easy for me?"I couldn't keep the h
