Adam's POV
My phone buzzed for the hundredth time that morning. It was barely eleven in the morning and after spending the first three hours of work stuck in my office appending signatures on certain charity donations, after the messy bit with Madeline and John two years ago, I'd made sure all payments connected to the company were appended by me.
I didn't want to wake up to see half the money in my accounts gone due to some negligence of some sort.
"And here are the designs,"
I looked up at the projected screen to see a couple of designs flipping on the screen. Here I was again, stuck in another meeting with my damned phone buzzing like crazy.
Why had I taken it in the first place? I fished out the device from my chest pocket to see who kept sending the messages. I had taken the phone in for one reason only.
Tom’s POV“That went quite well didn’t it?” Finn grinned as he slid into the driver’s seat. I glanced at the burly men, lined with tattoos , staring straight at us with their brow twisted as if it were going to start a tango any minute. This was the organization he had been ranting about.“Seven hundred thousand in the bag, fine business isn’t it?” He chuckled, tossing the suitcase they had handed him to the backseat. I heard it hit the chair with a thump and grinned.“Very fine business,”We drove out of the sideway and cruised down the road until Finn found a club and parked right there. I groaned, shaking my head.“It’s late man,”“Yeah exactly why the club is perfect,” The sleazy man
Adam’s POV“I’m sorry Mr Stone,” Tom’s secretary mumbled as she got off the phone with her boss. She looked like she would burst into tears anytime soon.Poor woman, Harrison must have insulted her or said something hurtful. Just when I wanted to see the bastard in another light, he proved over and over that he was a damned pig and he deserved to be treated just as so. “Mr Harrison is on his way.”I didn’t have time for that. I had been around the area that morning for a meeting and thought it would be good enough to drop by. We hadn’t concluded on the inauguration of the mall that was soon to happen.I stood before his secretary on his top floor with Matt behind me. I had hoped for a quick exchange and then I could go on about my activities for the day.I had to give him credit, the mall did turn out beautiful. An
Madeline's POVShit! The dial tone reached my ears and I seethed, grinding my teeth. The woman was definitely snubbing my calls. I glared at the device, trying to breathe through the voices that laughed in my head."Isabella Stone," I growled, as the call rang."Pick up the damned phone!"She didn't. After the whole issue with that crazy bitch of a reporter, she had been avoiding me for a long while. And here I had thought she would stick to my side like she had before.Deceit. She had deceived me. The damned woman was so fickle minded! Hadn't she assured me that she understood my plight when I had seen her the last time. Hadn't she made it seem like she would never, could never hate me?Then why the hell couldn't I get in through her damned gates!&nbs
Author's POVThe day had started beautifully for Micheal Hamilton. He had finished a job the night before, had a nice sandwich that morning and had been on his way to see Isabella Stone when he had seen a rather familiar car, parked outside her gate.He had stalked Madeline Black enough to know what car she drove and the plate numbers behind them. It was an old habit that came to life. Stalking. And he was so darned good at it that the person being stalked never had a clue that they were. "Well, isn't this just perfect?" He muttered with a grin. He had been looking for a much more natural way to meet her. A way that wouldn't draw suspicion towards him and yet would get him what he wanted.Closer to Madeline Black. He adjusted his cargo pants and top he wore, nodded at the thought that he looked good. At least he had checked the mir
AUTHOR’S POVIf I lose Adam Stone, I lose everything!Madeline’s words rang loud in John’s head. They lived rent free ever since the call they had all but twenty minutes ago.John sat in his computer room, the lights were dim, the only bright lights were the ones reflecting off the computer screens, pictures of Madeline flooded the screens and he stared at them, desperately trying to make a connection. Any connection, no matter how small. It was slowly approaching noon. The sun was brighter beyond the walls of John’s apartment, but he couldn’t care much. Not after that call with Madeline.“Bitch is getting impatient,” He scoffed, rubbing his forehead. And he couldn’t ferret any more secrets she could be hiding. He had tried. He had spent the past days doing nothing.“Damm
Tom's POVSeven hundred thousand dollars.I sat at the dining table, toying the bacon, pushing it round my plate. My brain was in a damned overdrive. Like it had been in the past days. Seven hundred grand.I couldn't get over it. Dammit that was our money. And why would anyone break into a car that had tinted windows? How did they know that there was a bag of cash in the backseat?I couldn't remember how we got in, but I was fairly certain that the car door and lock was still intact. Unless they had a master key.Well that was possible. But the robbery still felt a bit off and it irked the shit out of me that Barlow thought I could have stolen it. The idea hadn't even dropped in mind. I was too buzzed from the alcohol that night to even try to steal shit.
Adam's POV"Good to see you, Mr Harrison,"Tom Harrison sat in the boardroom along with several other professionals who would be involved in the launching of the mall. We had eventually finished building it and frankly, for an idea that came from Harrison, the mall did turn out good.It was quite grand, taking up more than half the district where it was situated. I expected that it would yield very interesting returns over the years. Quite interesting ones. But it didn't mean I was happy with the jackass. He tossed me a grin and nodded. "Good to be here Mr stone. "The other professionals I had invited hummed their greetings and Lillian, my secretary , anchored the meeting. We discussed what events to include during the inauguration of the new mall.
Eve's POV"I'll get you out of Tom’s clutches. I swear by my life, Eve. But only if you want me to.”Adam's words rang loud in my head as I walked farther into the estate. I could feel his kisses on my lips again. My hands brushed over them, recalling how ardent his kisses had felt. How demanding yet safe. And I had wanted more.As I made my way through the lit corridors of the estate, memories of Adam flooded my mind. His promises of liberation seemed like a distant dream. How would she get me out of Tom's clutches? What plans would he have to save me?I was afraid. Afraid that his promises would turn out empty , I decided to take a leap.I trusted Adam, I did. At least way more than I trusted any other man. Way more than I trusted Tom.
