Madeline's POV
"Fold?" The croupier, a tall lanky man, dressed in a black crisp suit and had the worst french accent I had heard in my entire life said, peering down at me.
I gave him the stink eye and reviewed the cards in my hands. Ah crap. My cards weren't looking too good. But if I quit the game now, I would lose my money. I had walked into this damned casino to double my money, not lose it all at a game of cards. .
But hell, my cards weren't good at all. We had gone a total of four rounds and they were looking terrible. If I had counted properly, two spades and a couple of hearts wasn't going to do me much good. The grins on the other faces of my fellow gamblers told me that much.
"Fold," I told the croupier with a sigh and rose to my feet. I suppose I had no chance to win today. I would win some other time.
Besides, when I married Adam, I would have
Eve's POVI remained quiet all through the car ride back to the hotel, fixing my gaze on the setting sun outside the window. Adam's question rang through my head and honestly, I wasn't sure I had an answer.Would I go back to Tom?There were so many things to consider. One was, just for how long did Adam plan to help me? Perhaps he was asking the questions because he couldn't help me anymore. Perhaps he was fed up already. Or maybe he just didn't want to have anything to do with me anymore. He was Tom's Intended business partner afterall.I pressed my lips tight on contemplation, tired of the many thoughts that flitted through my head.I had nothing. No money to my name. No home and certainly not a job. I didn't go to college. Tom had forbidden me from doing so, which meant I had no degree to boast of. I couldn'
Madeline's POV"Here are the peels of lime you requested ma'am," The bartender said, dropping a tray of lime peels on my table. "Though I am not quite certain what anyone would need the peels for."I gave him a smile and shoved a wad of cash in his hands. "That's for me to worry about and for you to get lost, hmm?"He tipped his head and walked away briskly. I picked a few peels and chuckled. It was time to pull on my acting face.I tapped on the message my stalker had sent me. He had sent a message following the picture and they include the address of an Hotel. Stone Hotel. Of course. He was housing the bitch in his hotel. I'll bet the rest of the money I had that he was probably fucking the brains out of her right now, the world shaking on its damned axis.Well all that was about to change. I forwarded the message t
Adam's POV"Mother?!"My mother's eyes were fixed in a glare and with a slow hiss, she pushed past me into the room. What the hell was my mother doing here? How Had she known I was here?! And how did she know what room? Fuck, Eve! Eve was still in the bedroom. If she hadn't finished adjusting her dress then I was fucked.I rushed after my mother, standing before her, a frown on my face."What are you doing here, Mother?"One minute I had Eve in my hands, bare open and wet enough to send me to the highest heavens. I could still taste her on my tongue. I could still feel her soft plum breasts and that creamy skin against my lips.If my mother had been a tad too late, I'd probably have been balls deep inside her, twitching and spilling until I had her full and marked as mine.
Eve's POV"Goodbye Eve,"My eyes remained tightly closed until I heard the sound of the door closing behind him.He was gone. His words replayed in my head and I willed my eyes to open. There was no Adam. There was no one. It was just me, the sound of my heart racing as if it ran a marathon and a loud pounding in my head.Tears burned the corner of my eyes, a lone tear rolled down my cheek, to the ground and as of unleashing a curse, others followed."He left," I choked out, feeling a certain kind of pain twist in my chest, making it rather hard to breathe. I knew Adam was gone for good, this time.I dropped to my knees, my mouth parting in a wide strangled sob as the tears fell unrestrained. I had never felt so humiliated in my entire life. I could still hear it, his mother's words. They rang in my head
ADAM’S POVMy knuckles gripped the steering wheel tightly until they whitened from the pressure. I watched my mother’s car drive up ahead, gritting my teeth in anger. The scene at the hotel had replayed in my head a gazillion times. I could see it all again, all the anger written all over my mother’s face. I could see the pain in Eve’s eyes when she had slapped her. A growl slipped from my lips at the memory and I slammed my hand on the steering wheel in anger.I had just stood there and watched it happen! I should have done something. I should have foresaw that and protected Eve. Fuck! She had looked so abandoned, so deserted. I hated that. I wanted to be there for her. I wanted to be the one person she could rely on. I wanted to take care of her dammit!Turn around, my mind urged. Just fucking turn around and go back to her. She was probably still on the floor in the liv
Tom's POV"This coffee tastes like shit!" I yelled at the damned good for nothing maid, annoyed with everything. She yelled, bowed her head and mumbled several apologies that made me even angrier!I had a bad night. Again! How on earth was I supposed to sleep when my wife roamed around who knows where? That bitch! The minute I get my hands on her, I'll show her what happens when she crosses me.She had grown balls hadn't she? She had the nerve to leave the house. To leave me! Oh she would pay for it when I found her eventually. When I had thrown her out, I hadn't expected that she would actually leave! It was Eve! Puny, little, terrified Eve. She feared being alone more than anything in the damned world and that had made it easy to manipulate her this far.I had expected tears.I would throw her ou
Tom's POVShe looked like a kicked puppy. Standing out there in a rather drab dress. Her hair was tied in a ponytail and her eyes were red.She had been crying. For what? I thought in fury. Over her old man's death? That man hadn't cared not one bit about her and she had the audacity to defy me because of him! Such insolence.I had been with her for ten years. I had bore through her shenanigans and tantrums and made sure to give her the discipline she needed so she could learn her face. Yet it was obvious she would still choose that man over me anytime, any day.Anger burned through my veins, reminding me of the many reasons why I needed to teach her a lesson. I couldn't have her running off on me every time. What kind of a husband didn't train his wife to be a good little prim and proper bitch? A terrible one, that's who.&nbs
Adam's POV"Perfect, thank you Gentlemen," I told the board and rose to my feet. They rose as well bowing their heads as I walked out of the meeting with Lillian in tow. "That went well, yeah?""A hundred and ten percent," She chuckled. "You might want to check your phone though Boss, it rang like a gazillions of times. "We stepped onto the elevator and I allowed myself to relax when the doors closed before us.I had moved from one meeting to another. And considering it was a few minutes past five in the evening, I desperately hoped that was the last meeting for the day. Just another day in my life.Meetings, more meetings and a lot of phone calls from my mother badgering the shit out of me. It had been just a day since she had banned me from seeing Eve- not like I was going to see her anyway.Okay perhaps th
Eve's POV"Madam?!"Ah crap. I snuggled deeper into my husband's arm, wishing Nuren would disappear. Why on earth was she at our door?!"Madam?! Madam you have to wake up!"No I do not!"No she does not!" Adam yelled groggily, hugging me tighter. He must be mad at her for running our sleep as well."But she has to!" Nuren said stubbornly."Ignore her," I mumbled to him, running my hands over his skin.He hummed in response. "It's a fucking Saturday. We ought to be allowed to sleep in,""Not like
Eve's POVGolden. He was all I could see. All I could feel. His scent drove me heady and aching with desire. I gripped the counter, hanging on, waiting, anticipating.Cold air whipped against my exposed skin as he yanked down the dress and tossed it aside. His breathing was ragged as he trailed kisses down my arched back, to my ass.He let out a hiss, smacking the cheeks, sending painful thrills up my spine and down to my pussy."Adam," I moaned, pushing against him. "Oh please, please."‘Ah fuck, I love it when you beg," he mumured huskily, giving me another smack. Heat pooled between my thighs and my juices spilled down my thighs. Another smack and soon he had me writhing and mewling begging him to give me what I wanted. What we both wanted."So fucking eage
Adam's POVI watched Eve walk side by side with her mother on the patio. It had taken a great deal of work and patience to convince her mother to come. I had to send the video of Tom molesting Eve to her and that seemed to change everything. That seemed to reveal the truth. They seemed fine now, happy. They had hugged and held each other for hours, weeping buckets while I stood there watching. It tore me to bits, seeing her cry. But she needed it. I knew that."You did good," Mother said, joining me on the balcony where I stood. "I'm sure you've made her very happy.""Thank you mother," I murmured while taking a sip from my brandy. "That was the goal.""Oh," my mother arched her brow in a manner that told me she had something else to say. "And the goal
Eve's POV"Wake up Eve,"A pair of lips teased and tickled my ears. I moaned, melting deeper against his touch. His very familiar touch."Mhmm," I purred, moaning softly as his hands stroked my arm."Are you up, my pet?"Oh I was . I was now. I had spent the past few days in Adam's arms. But as much as I enjoyed his presence,I feared that it would all end. I tried to push away those thoughts, telling myself that I was just being paranoid. As I opened my eyes, I saw his face looming over me, a smile playing on his lips. It sent a shiver down my spine and a soft sigh slipped from my lips. Adam leaned in closer, his eyes darkening with desire. The air between us crackled with tension.“Hey,” I whispered.“He
Eve's POVAdam drove us down to his house. Nuren had cried her eyes out when he had announced to everyone else that he was taking me with him. With the way she had cried, you would think Adam was carting me off all the way to the moon. But I was sure she was only too happy for me.The drive was quiet. And yet it felt so... Peaceful. The days after the incident at the warehouse had felt like that. Slow and peaceful and it was good.In the meantime. His house... Scratch that, his mansion was huge! The gate creaked open as we approached, revealing a long driveway lined with blooming cherry blossom trees. The mansion loomed ahead, its grandeur taking my breath away. Adam guided the car to a stop in front of the massive oak doors, and I stepped out, feeling small against the backdrop of opulence.“I thought y
Adam's POVFour days. They passed by in a blur. I couldn't remember much about what happened, but I could remember how I felt every single second.Afraid. Terrified. Devastated. Nothing had prepared me for what I had seen. Nothing had prepared me to lose Eve.When Tom had shot her, I was pretty sure I went mad. It had taken Micheal and the police to pry me off a bloodied Tom by the time I was done. The ambulance took its damned sweet time to arrive so while I called the pilot to the private jet, Micheal had checked her wound and helped do first aid. And I had held her in my arms on the flight home.Pale. She grew pale rapidly. Her pretty skin had lost its color until she looked so drained it terrified the shit out of me.I could feel the weight of her in my arms, her breath shallow and weak against my chest. Panic surged thr
Author's POVWell duty called.Micheal Hamilton sped down the road that led outside New York city, a happy grin on his face. One would think he was on his way to attend a freaking birthday party with how excited he looked."Will you stop grinning like that?" Adam who sat in the passenger seat said with a concerned look. "It's fucking creepy man."Micheal chuckled and took a sharp turn at the same time, earning a glare from his best friend. It had been a while since they left Isabella Stone mansion and frankly he had expected Adam to rain down his questions.Instead, his best friend behaved as typical as anyone would expect Adam Stone to. He sat in the passenger seat quietly, occasionally glancing at him. If Micheal had to guess , he would say Adam was trying to connect the dots and figure out who or what he was exactly.
Adam's POV"Your mother says, your little miss Eve is hanging around somewhere,"Those were the first words Micheal said when I met him at the gate. He had the damned cocky grin on his face as if something permanently amused him."Perhaps I do," I chuckled, slipping my hands in my pocket. "With that grin on your face, I'm not so sure I want you to meet her.""Oh please, I have to. I need to know the woman who makes you do the craziest of shit," Micheal crackled, walking ahead of me into my mother's house."Try not to say shit when you meet her,""Shit like what?" he asked innocently and I just knew he was going to try something crazy when he saw Eve.We stopped by Mom's study to say."Hello, boys," Mom greeted us with a warm smile. She looked
Tom's POV"That bastard!" I spat as I scaled down the wall with Eve, gritting my teeth in disgust.I had watched him stroll with her. As if she were his. As if he had the right to.Now it all seemed to be clear. To be so fucking clear."Take her to the spot," Barlow ordered, jumping in right after me. "I'll signal the men."After a whole damned argument session with Barlow, he finally agreed to help. But what could possibly be much more valuable to Adam Stone? If we could get him to take back the charges and then say he had come up with the fake proof and lied that we were trafficking then everything would be solved. There was nothing the word of a billionaire could not accomplish. But the problem however had been discovering how to make Adam Stone give in. I had snuck into his mother's hou
