"Where are you going?" Rory asked him with a fake smile on her lips. Kairos stared at her for a moment. He could not help but wonder if she has something to do with Isla being married to Nicholas now because if that's the case, then Kairos might end up doing something unimaginable to her.

"I have a lunch meeting with an investor." He lied. Raile's smile slowly disappeared because of what she heard from Kairos. Rory, who saw how quickly it saddens her daughter, comforted Raile.

"Could you please postpone it? Raleigh won a quiz bee competition. She deserves a reward for that. A family lunch will do." Rory said with a pleading voice. Kairos glanced at his watch on his wrist, then shook his head.

"It's an important one, Rory. Maybe next time?" Kairos said before he removed Raile's hand that was holding onto his coat, and then he walked toward the elevator.
