COLD

Edgar laid himself down. He said that he stayed by the campfire until the drinks ran out. He didn't linger there for long. Edgar would have drunk the ginger drink in one gulp and returned to the tent if the ginger drink had been cold. Even though Elissa was still cranky, Edgar wanted to spend the night alone with his wife. Edgar didn't bring fried bananas because they were already gone when he was about to ask for some.

"Are you asleep, dear?" asked Edgar as he covered himself with his sleeping bag. He didn't use an extra blanket. The blanket he brought with him wrapped around Elissa. Elissa was now sleeping on his side like the last time Edgar left him.

There was no answer. But Elissa's breathing still sounded irregular, indicating that Elissa was still awake.
