“Was the show good?”

Elena pecked him on the lips and nodded. “Thank you. I enjoyed it.”

The man was amused by her actions. “Why are you so active tonight?”

A small smile played on her lips as she replied. “I just realized it wasn’t bad to hook up with you.”

“Is that so?”

Elena did not reply.

Instead, her gaze lingered on the cigarette between his long and slender fingers.

With an impulse, she reached out and caught his hand just before he lifted it to his lips. “Teach me,” she said softly.

Lucas looked at her quietly, the warmth of her touch seeping into him before he passed the stick to her.

Elena followed suit.

Her fingers trembled slightly as she lifted the cigarette to her mouth.

She took a drag, and the smoke filled her lungs with a harsh burn.

Feeling the burning sensation in her throat, Elena winced.

*Cough*

Perhaps she had been too eager, she choked on it and started coughing violently.

After the coughing fit subsided, Elena raised her head with teary eyes and saw Lucas watch
