It was a few days to Christmas, Katrina would've loved it if the kids spent it with their grandpa, she'd imagined them spending a lot of time together and she planned on dressing up in Santa's costume to present the with their favorite video games and toys
She already made so much plans for them to enjoy the holidays, she didn't expect for everything to change in a blink of an eye, just because they met their Father. “Joanna, come here right now!” Katrina yelled out loudly, summoning the little kid who was focused to the cartoon videos she was watching. While her brother was at the corner playing with his toys, Katrina was never bothered about the little boy because, according to her, he was younger, and Joanna had to act like the older sister at all times.. She frowned as Joanna ignored her, knowing fully well that they didn't have much time left, their flight would soon be ready and they'd have to leave the city soon. It hurts Katrina to make this decision, but it was for the best. She didn't want her children to be stigmatize by the nation because their father didn't want them, and also, the issue had been made public and it might affect them in school. Knowing their father's position in the society, Katrina didn't want to bring more shame to the family. It took a while before they were all completely set for the trip. Katrina already spoke to the buyer for her newly bought mansion. She thought that they'd be able to stay there for a long time so she had bought it for their comfort. Settling the last luggage into trunk, Katrina stared back at the mansion, and then at her kids who had disappointed looks on their faces as they settled in the back of the SUV. “I will miss grandpa…” Jeremy said calmly while Joanna shook her head, staring at her mother. Katrina turned her gaze away, there was no going back on her decision, they had to return back to Germany that day so she could resume working soon. She was going to move her business, not until everything changed now. She smiled briefly, trying to mask the disappointment on her face as well. Immediately she was settled into her seat, the driver took off heading straight for the airport. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next day was hectic for Dylan and it was only 7 a.m, last night he could barely sleep, not only because he was caught up with the thoughts of Katrina and the kids, but because the news got to his grandfather, Mr Michaelson who'd been sending numerous text messages to him, asking him to come back home and explain to him. He also wanted to meet the kids and the mother. Mr Michaelson didn't even give Dylan time to think about a decision, he immediately asked him to confirm their paternity and get married to Katrina immediately. Dylan was so bothered, he'd vowed to himself never to get married or have kids, he didn't want the kind of life he lived for his kids, being born in the Michaelson family wasn't an easy task for anybody. Now, those two adorable kids would have to face what he'd also faced in the past. The Michealson family held a high ranking position in the underworld, his grandfather was a ruthless mafia don, who'd influence anybody born from their family to become like him if he could. They had the power to eliminate anyone who gets in their way and were indomitable. He couldn't let those children witness the same thing he did. Including their mother, Katrina. She was beautiful, smart and seemed very fragile. The more Dylan thought about it, the more concerned he was. He was quite disturbed until he got up from the bed. There's no way he was going to let it happen, allowing his grandfather to dictate his life for him. He moved towards the drawer immediately and grabbed his mobile phone to call Bryan who he'd sent to get a DNA test done on the kids. They'd managed to secure a sample of their hairs yesterday at the party. Dylan spoke with Bryan on the phone and he'd come upstairs shortly with the results. He knocked on the door when he'd arrived and Dylan let him in. Immediately, the results were given to him and he read it immediately. His DNA with both kids were 99.9% match. He couldn't believe his eyes, he had kids! With this, he was more determined to protect them all. “Where are they now? Get me their address!” He declared. Bryan took out his mobile phone to call the spy he'd employed to watch ever the since last night. Immediately the man picked it up, Bryan spoke with him. The call ended with Bryan having a long frown on his face, he immediately turned to Dylan and said; “Sir, Miss Davidson already booked a flight to leave the city, apparently, they'll soon be at the airport, and she is leaving with the kids!” He announced it to him. Dylan's both eyes widened in shock the moment he heard what had happened. “Get the car ready! I have to stop them! Katrina must not leave the city with those kids! They're mine!” he growled in rage, imagining the defiance of Katrina. The ride took a few minutes because of the speed, and the moment they arrived at the airport, Dylan started his search for them. “Spread out and find them all!” He ordered his men and immediately, they started a quick search all through the airport. Dylan was impatient, he took his own route and searched for them, since they were going to Germany, he quickly moved to check the area where they flight list was being recorded. His hands quivered just by the thoughts of losing them. No matter what, Katrina mustn't leave the city with his kids! “Boss, we found them!” One of the guards quickly informed him and Dylan went with him immediately. The guard led Dylan to where they had Katrina and the kids surrounded. They looked frightened, but immediately the kids saw Dylan, their worries disappeared and they rushed out to him. “Daddy!” They chorused, running towards him, breaking the circle firmed by the guards around them. Katrina who didn't understand why they were suddenly trapped by this men was stunned by who ordered it in the first place. She stared angrily at Dylan, how dare he cause them more trouble after rejecting before? She was so angry, she moved out of the guards formation and stepped forward to meet him. Their eyes locked on each other in a deep stare, Dylan was speechless. Asides from the fact that he'd already messed up, he was mesmerized by Katrina's beauty. “Katrina,.. I'm sorry. I never should've doubted you” he apologized calmly, but Katrina was the opposite of him. She was filled with rage and tried to pull out her kids from his arms. “Stay away from us, Mr Mickelson! Kids, let's go” “No, mummy. We want daddy!” Joanna yelled out defiantly, Katrina was stunned. Even though she knew it was wrong to refuse them access of their father, he already didn't want them. “Stop being naughty, Joanna!” “No, she's not! I'm their father and I have the rights to be with them, Katrina.” “Dylan Michaelson, you already stated that you aren't sure of their paternity. Why come back now to cause a ruckus? It's already been a hectic situation for us, not being able to celebrate the season with grandpa because of the scene you caused at the Christmas eve party.” Katrina explained. “It's different now, I mean, I want to be in their lives, Katrina. Let's get married. And I promise to be a good father to them!” Dylan proposed. Katrina's mouth widened, she wanted to speak but was out of words. “Wh…. What did you just say?” She asked him after settling for a while. “Yay, we're having a daddy for Christmas!” Jeremy was the first to speak. “Say yes! Say yes! Say yes!” The crowds witnessing the scene chanted, making Katrina lost for words. The ride back to the mansion was swift, however, the twins had the better of it as they kept on drooling over their father. Katrina didn't realize how much these children needed their father in their lives. She'd always thought that she alone was enough for them. For the past four years since she'd given birth to them, none of the twins ever complained about not having a father, rather, they'd only requested for more toys, video games and outings with their motherKatrina was however stunned to find them all over Dylan Michelson. She watched them from the middle seat where she was in the limousine, using the rearview mirror at the front, she couldn't stop feeling stunned and apologetic towards them. This made her finally decide to work with Dylan in order to fill in the space the twins had missed in these past years. Soon, they arrived at the Mickelson villa and they were all out of the limousine heading towards the mansion.Katrina's heart beat fastly as she couldn't stop thinking a
Dylan sighed as he stepped aside motioning for Katrina to get in which she did. She fiddled nervously with her fingers as she walked into his room, her eyes sweeping every single decor in the room, trying her best to avoid the shirtless man in front of her. It wasn’t just a room, it was a mini palace, designed with gold. He even had a golden tree artifact which she was sure must’ve cost millions. Katrina could not lie, his room looked beautiful as the finely done dull painting on the wall accommodated the beautiful decor in the room. Her eyes stayed longe than usual on an art painting of Dylan. He looked younger in the portrait as his eyes bore into hers. She let herself imagine how beautiful of a man he would’ve been younger and when she turned to look at Dylan, she could see him. He was still the same, only the young boy in the portrait had a more welcoming eyes than the ones which stared back at her.“What about the kids?.” Dylan asked folding his hands. Katrina flinched a litt
“Are we having a wedding celebration or not?.” Dylan asked.Katrina halted in her tracks when Dylan spoke up. She had not noticed but he had moved to the little library stand in his room to pick a book. She turned to look at him confused. She didn’t know how she felt about having a public wedding or if she wanted to bother with the fuss of it all.“No. A court wedding is fine. Something simple and quick. It’s not like it’s a love match where we need to exchange vows. We both sign contacts so when one doesn’t fulfill their end of the bargain, there’s consequences.” Katrina replied in a diplomatic way.Dylan scoffed shutting the book he was holding with a thud. It was the 50 laws of power. He turned to look Katrina over nodding his head.He agreed with her point. There wasn’t any need for a celebration. The only reason they were getting married was to give the kids a home. He didn’t fancy the idea of his kids growing apart from him. At least his parents had trained him together no matte
Katrina woke up the next morning to soft knocks on her door. She whispered a sleeping come in and soon maids entered her room holding the most beautiful wedding dress she had ever seen.“Good morning Miss Katrina.” They all Chorused.Still on her bed, one of the maids went up to her handing her a card in a small silver tray.Katrina picked the card with interest as she opened it revealing a handwritten note. Her eyes immediately went to the end of the note to see who had sent it and just as she had suspected, it was from Dylan.“Now you don’t have to think of something to wear. Our lawyers will be present at 10. Don’t be late.” Katrina read aloud. She was stunned by this new development especially since she had discussed with Dylan that she had wanted a day off to sort herself out. She eyed the white gown scoffing as she threw the card shabbily on her bed.“Okay? Is there a problem?.” Katrina asked the maids when she finally realized they were still in her room.“We’re here to get you
Dylan was agitated and angry. In fact, he didn’t know which was actually his problem at the moment. Was it Katrina’s cold shoulder towards him or was it the way she signed the documents in a hurry as if she could not wait to be done with the legal process. Hell, he didn’t even know why he was upset. After all she was making this quite easy by not making a big deal out of it. Still, he wished she had worn the dress as he looked at her knee length red dress. Dylan had to admit, the piece she had on suited her well but it wasn’t the dress itself that was the problem. It was the damn color. ‘At least it’s not black.’ His subconscious told him and he couldn’t agree more. The worst thing Katrina could’ve done was show up in black at their marriage signing. At least red represented a lot of things, blood included. He gave her a side glance as he finished signing the last of the legal documents which made them husband and wife. Dylan hoped Katrina would never think of divorcing him becau
The atmosphere between the both of them tensed up as Dylan didn't utter any words, making Katrina frightened. She should've believed him. He was her husband and shouldn't have any aims in hirting her. She debated in her thoughts on what to do to make him forgive her, although see couldn't forgive herself for how she treated him.“I..” she was just about to say something when Dylan's voice interrupted her.“Katrina, you do not have to apologize to me. What I did was to stop a fraudster from stealing my wife's money. I really do not care about how you feel about my actions. You're my wife now, you should get used to things like this from me” Dylan declared, and then he turned away to leave. She watched his figure fade slowly in the hallway and soon, he cornered towards his bedroom. She was a bit confused, first, he acted like she offended him and now he was bossy toward her. She could be everything, but not naive and would never allow a man to trample over her, even though he was her
The doctor had just finished giving the last medication to Jeremy, but he was still unconscious, making Katrina even more worried. She gazed up at him as he checked the little boys temperature from the device.“Doctor, how is my son?” She asked him curiously, putting a hand on Jeremy's body to check his temperature. He was running a fever earlier so they had to give him more treatments.Katrina was in so much rage mixed with anxiety, she couldn't stop thinking about the how to make Lucy pay for what she'd caused the kids to go through. Not to talk about their nanny who'd allowed this to happen.Sje never should've allowed this happen in the first place. If it all wasn't for Dylan who'd set their wedding on such an auspicious day when they had to celebrate Christmas together. She tightened his fists, almost breaking her almond shaped artificial nails which she'd been proud of. Katrina's head was filled with so many thoughts but then, she didn't want to make things difficult for Dylan b
After two days.Katrina was dressed up in dark pants and gray shirt as she headed into the van. She signed to the driver, who already knew where they were heading, to kick off and he drove immediately. Her eyes were fixed directly on the tablet, she was trying to sort out some things, so she was distracted. The ride took about twenty minutes and all through, Katrina was busy on her tablet, even when they arrived at the Anderson mansion, she still didn't stop her work..She was accompanied by two of Dylan's bodyguards into the mansion headings straight for the living room. It was very early in the morning and the Andersons we're having breakfast when she walked in to meet them. Katrina purposely came at such time in order to meet up with everyone before they'd leave for work. She finally let a guard take the tablet from her while she heads straight for the dining room. Seeing that everyone was there except for Mr Anderson, Katrina was glad that he wasn't going to witness the next scen
THREE YEARS LATER“Dylan stop! You’re going to wake Sarah up. Don’t…stop,” Katrina scolded Dylan as his hands keep coming up to touch her boobs.“But they are so big. I don’t know, I think I like it when you’re pregnant with my baby. You only seem to become more beautiful and irresistible,” Dylan replied with a cheeky smile.Three whole years had passed and for Dylan and Katrina it was the best three years of their life. After the trail of Mr Micahelson and Anastasia who were both sent to jail, Katrina had gotten pregnant. She gave birth to a girl Sarah who was two years old now and 3 months ago, Katrina took a pregnancy test which showed positive.“Well try your possible best to resist me. It had taken me quite the strength to put this little woman to sleep and If she wakes up, she’s your responsibility.” Katrina snapped.“Yes mum,” Dylan replied rolling his eyes.“Don’t roll your eyes at me!” Katrina yelled out throwing a pillow at him. Her yelling almost waking Sarah up.“Mum! Mum!
While Katrina left to the police station to alert the police about the sudden kidnap of her children, Dysln on the other hand went straight to visit his grandfather. He had his suspicion concerning the sudden disappearance of his kids and the only person who came to mind was his grandfather. Besides, if it turned out his grandfather was innocent, there was no better person to help me look for his kids than the old man.He was very much aware that his grandfather didn’t run a clean business. He had access to some of the prestigious gangs that caused mayhem in the city and even sponsored some when he needed to take a person out.“Learn to knock will you! Such mannerless behavior. I blame your mother and more so your father for not picking the woman I had chosen for him. Perhaps you would’nt be so…”“My kids are missing,” Dylan stated sternly interrupting his grandfather.Mr Michaelson raised his eyes to his grandson, slowly removing rhe eyeglasses he had on.“And what makes you conclude
Katrina stood in front of the court, her back straight with her head held high. She was dressed impeccable in a black suit pant and had worn heels. That’s because she knew she was walking out as a free woman finally. Her step sister had confessed to the crime which meant she would not be convicted for her grandfather’s death. It pained her that Lucy could not be in court because she had been deemed unfit to be present. The process had been quick and short, the judge declaring Katrina not guilty of the crime and seeing her free.Katrina felt relieved course through her veins, tears spilling from her eyes as the judge gave his verdict. She had hugged her lawyer and out of excitement have Dylan a hug.“I’m sorry,” Katrina said immediately stepping aside from Dylan.“Congratulations Mrs Katrina…”“It’s Miss Katrina lawyer. And now this is done, I’ll get to start immediately with the divorce process to Mr Dylan here,” Katrina interjected.Dylan sighed, aware that this was going to happen.
Dylan stormed into his grandfather’s mansion to talk to him. He wasn’t sure what his grandfather had said to Katrina that pissed her off so much.Worst of, Dylan had been positive that he was finally getting somewhere with Katrina. At least she tolerated his presence when the kids were around but his recent visit had been a total disaster.“Dylan. You’re here.” His supposed fiancé Anastasia said, her heels clicking on the floor as she walked towards him.Dylan’s jaws Locked as he glared at Anastasia.“You…” he started closing the gap between them so fast, his hands curling around Anastasia’s neck as he slammed her back against a wall forcefully.“What the hell were you thinking by going to see Katrina at the hospital.” Dylan stated angrily.Anastasia’s eyes were wide open in fear as she felt a sharp pain at her spine while trying to breath properly.“It wasn’t my idea. Your grand father asked me to accompany him.” She defended.“And you felt it was in your place to visit my wife?.” Dy
Today like the past two days was going to be fun and full of laughter for Katrina and she looked forward to it. From the moment her eyes lid opened, quickly snapping shut from the bright light that glowed in the room, Katrina already knew she could wait for her day to start.Somehow her not being able to believe Dylan bothered him a lot that he had returned with the kids the next day and now he promised her she would get to see them again.Katrina could not imagine the strings he had pulled to have the kids come stay for a long period of time but she was immensely grateful for it.Each time spent with the kids gave her hope and more will to fight for herself. For them. Just like yesterday, Dylan had promised to brring the kids over for a while and Katrina was looking forward to that. What she wasn’t looking forward to was seeing Dylan’s grandfather and Dylan’s fiancé walking into her room.“What are you doing here?.” Katrina asked haughtily the moment Mr Michaelon walked in with Anas
Katrina sat upright on her bed. Three days had passed since the horrible scene that had played out in front of her but each day she woke up, it felt just like the past.Out of everything was the sad part of not knowing where her kids were. Surely Dylan had understood perfectly that she was coming for her kids once she was done with the case of her grandfather’s death. Of which her lawyer had spoken to her, letting her know things were looking up for them as she had almost half of the jury at her side.Katrina wasn’t sure what magic had convinced them but she was glad about it because she needed to get out of the hospital and house arrest she had been placed on.“Mrs Katrina. You have a visitor.” A female police officer said.“It’s just Katrina.” Katrina replied, typing her hair into a loose low bun.“Okay Katrina. She’ll see you.” The police said to the visitor.“No. Get out.” Katrina snapped, her eyes red as she saw her visitor.“Excuse me?.” The police office asked taking a step ba
Dylan didn’t need a soothsayer to tell him what was going on. He had put two and two together and it dawned on him why his grandfather was in Katrina’s ward. He only wondered what his grandfather had said that had upset Katrina so much.“What’s going on here?. Grandfather ? Why are you here?.” Dylan asked the old man with a glare on his face but Mr Michaelson wasn’t faced by his grandson’s glare.“Katrina?.” Dylan asked turning his attention to Katrina.Katrina scoffed, her eyes throwing daggers at Dylan. She was beyond hurt that she could not even express herself as fresh tears wailed in her eyes.“You…”“Sir. Please I’m sorry but you can’t be in here.” A police officer said all of a sudden, stepping into the room.Mr Michaelson frowned because he had personally gotten the permission to see Katrina for as long as he wanted from the judge but he figured the presence of his grandson was the reason his visit was being cut short.“Don’t worry officer. Me and my boy will be right behind y
Katrina hated the smell that hospital had. It felt like death and she felt dead. After all, she was half dead for as long as she could not remember and the nurses had made it a point to remind her it was a miracle she was now awake. She hated hearing that and more so, she hated the fact that she was heavily guarded with policemen like some criminal who had been caught on a killing spree. She wished for the times when she was a free woman and could go anywhere she wanted to. Now she was confined to the four walls of this hospital room, with only her lawyer and Dylan allowed to visit her. What made all of this more frustrating was the fact that she was not allowed to see her kids. Her own beautiful two children had not seen their mother ever since the burial of her grandfather. It was still shocking to her that Lucy would go as far as starting a case against her concerning the death of her her grandfather. The worst of it all were the implicating evidence her lawyer said Lucy had broug
Dylan walked ahead of Anastasia, not wanting to talk to her. His grandfather had suggested he took Anastasia for some drinks and now he found himself walking into a cafe with Anastasia struggling to catch up with him due to the heels she had on.“Dylan dear, would you mind taking a hold of my hand? Your legs are quite long I must say…” Anastasia said looking at Dylan over in a seductive way.Dylan stopped in his tracks, huffing as he turned to look at Anastasia. He let her wrap her hands around his arm as they both walked into the cafe.Anastasia took a seat, batting her eyelashes at Dylan who payed her no attention. She was excited to finally be in his presence after such a long time. Anastasia had tried all her possible best to earn a date from Dylan. By going to every function he attended and even visiting his grandfather frequently, but she had never for once met him.“What would you like to order?.” Dylan asked looking at the menu.“Oh. Anything you want is fine by me. I’m less i
