“Why are you all ganging up on me?” Leon asked, feeling cornered as his mother sat on one side and his grandmother on the other. Meanwhile, his father, grandfather, and siblings acted oblivious and they were clearly avoiding his plea for help.

“We are not asking you to marry her,” Anne reassured him.

“Yes, your mom is right,” Ellora chimed in. “Leon, my dear grandchild, you mean the world to us. We just want you to meet more people. If you meet her and decide she is not for you, that’s fine. But at least give her a chance with an open mind. We are only concerned about you.”

Leon scanned the room as he was hoping for some rescue but everyone seemed suddenly preoccupied. They were pretending not to notice his predicament.
