As they reached the Hart mansion, they retreated to their room where they would be staying together. An awkward tension hung in the air as neither of them dared to touch the subject of their passionate encounter in the car.

Nicholas broke the silence as he asked, “What will you do now?”

“I will check up on children first,”Roseanne said. “Although mom said they are sleeping, I will just look at them.”

Nicholas nodded his head.

Roseanne asked, “What about you?”

“I will go to sleep,”Nicholas said. Perhaps, she would feel less awkward if he just went to sleep.

The weight of unspoken words and awkwardness loomed heavily in the room.

Unable to bear the stifling atmosphere any longer, Roseanne excused herself to the children's room and when later when she entered their bedroom she didn't find Nicholas.
