The trip to Florida ended, and Nicholas and Roseanne returned to New York. However, they did not come back alone. Instead, they brought Luke with them. The first person to meet them was Ellora. She was surprised to see Luke with them. Of course, she knew Nicholas brought Roseanne with him to go somewhere important, but he did not know where. To see Luke standing with them was hard to digest for her, yet it created a spark of happiness inside her.

“Nicholas…”Ellora tried to say.

Nicholas asked his mother, “Mom, where is Emery?”

“She is in the garden,” Ellora responded. “Leon and Coco have been keeping their Aunt company. She adored them so much.”

Luke greeted Ellora, who nodded at him. “It's nice to meet you, Luke.”

“Likewise, Mrs Hart, ”Luke said in a flat voice. “Can I meet Emery?”

“Sure, I will lead you there,” Ellora told him. The four of them went to the garden, where the children accompanied Emery.

“Mommy!” The children ran as soon as they saw Roseanne coming their way. They hu

The wedding preparations started immediately after the engagement. Almost everyone was trying to help the newly engaged couple with preparation. Leon and Coco were very excited about the wedding as it was the first wedding they would see. Usually, wedding venues wouldn't allow children their age, but Emery wanted her niece and nephew there for her special day. Today, Emery was shopping for her wedding dress with Ellora and Roseanne. She was trying out different dresses before deciding on the final one. Ellora had to convince Emery to let her buy the wedding dress as her daughter didn't wish to take any financial help from her family. However, being a mother, she always wanted to be a part of her daughter's happy day, and how could she let Emery have a compromised wedding dress when she could have the world at her feet? In the end, Emery agreed. When Emery decided on the dress, Roseanne and Ellora were looking for dresses for themselves for the wedding party. Roseanne liked a turquoi

“You are very close to your daughter, aren't you?” Mrs Taylor asked the question. When she asked this question, Roseanne had a weird feeling ignited in her heart. Why would someone ask these silly questions? Aren't mothers and daughters supposed to be close to each other? She had been suspicious of Mrs Taylor always, and because of this lens on her eyes, she would always see the latter in a bad light. Every time, her heart would be telling her that she should stay away from this woman as she was looking for an opportunity to cheat or take advantage of her. Then again, what did she possess that Nrs Taylor could take advantage of? “Which mother is not close to their daughters?” Roseanne asked the question when she realised that she made the woman wait for too long. However, this time, Mrs Taylor surprised her with the answer. Instead of saying something sarcastic, she gave her a very vulnerable answer, “Well, some are not given the opportunity.”Roseanne chuckled. “That's bullshit. T

“What's wrong with our stepmother? Why is she talking to that woman? Where does her loyalty lie?” Beatrice whispered. Just because they were following Emery and Ellora didn't mean their attention was not on Roseanne. In reality, it was Roseanne who had taken all of their attention. All they could focus on the entire building was her. They didn't know if it was jealousy or curiosity; they were watching her entire moves. With every movement, they would wonder why Nicholas chose her over Sabrina, who was more elegant, beautiful and influential. If it was Beauty that Nicholas was after, Sabrina possessed more of it. Even a blind could see the latter's worth, but why did Nicholas throw her far and choose someone like Roseanne? It was not that Roseanne was not beautiful; she was. She could give a competition to Mrs Taylor, but it was not beauty that was needed to survive in their circle. As if Nicholas’ subject was challenging to digest for the two of them, they saw their stepmother givi

A wicked idea entered Emery's mind. It was a perfect time to introduce Luke to everyone. She thought she was taking advantage of Mrs Taylor, but it was the other way around. When the latter said her piece, she had everything predicated–especially Emery's reaction. Emery turned to Roseanne and her mother. Holding their hands, she tried to convince them, “Yes, Mom and Roseanne. We should definitely go. I like Bella's parties. They are fun. Trust me, Roseanne, you will love them. And she always takes care of the children, too. You will not be troubled.”In the end, Roseanne and Ellora could not escape. Emery had fallen prey to someone's twisted games.Although the Hart family was at the top of the food chain, there were some boundaries for them. First of all, they could not act superior in their circle, or they would end up portrayed as tyrants. Even if they were tyrants, they had to maintain a positive outlook. The entire Hart family went to the party organised by Mrs Taylor. The party was lavish, with guests from the elitist section of the country. Everything looked so grand. Mr Taylor and Mrs Taylor were using this party to gain as many allies as possible since the elections were close, and he needed the support of more and more people. Since there were many important people present, everyone was trying to make conversation with people in case the connection come helpful them further. However, Roseanne was standing in the middle of the hall, quiet. Nicholas could sense her reservation. She had not been talking much since the time they left home. Seeing her like this made him uncomfortable, too. Nicholas told her, “If you don't want to be here, we can return.”To him, this party has no use. If she said she wanted to return, he would leave instantly with her and the kids. She shook her head, “No.” To be honest, she was scared about him. She was shy and uncomfortable in their presence. “Hello,” Mr Taylor extended his hand to the little girl. Coco looked at Nicholas, who nodded with a smile, giving her some reassurance. When she saw his gesture, she felt a little courageous and shook the older man's hand. Holding the soft and tiny hand, Nr Taylor couldn't help but feel emotional. “I'm Vance. Each kiss was deliberate, slow, and tantalizing as his lips explored the soft curves and bumps of her skin. He sucked and nipped gently, leaving her breathless and causing her to arch her back in excitement. His tongue darted out, tasting the warmth of her skin. When they reached their room after dinner, his gaze fell on her. She was sitting on the stool in front of the mirror while trying to remove her earrings, but she was struggling. He walked closer to her and whispered, “May I?” She silently gave him permission. He gently swept her hair to one side and carefully removed her earrings. As he worked, his hands lingered on her shoulders and their eyes met in the mirror. A soft blush painted her cheeks. Her eyes, though tired, but sparkled with life. He softly made her stand while turning her to face him. Dipping his head, he kissed her lips tenderly. The lovebirds were truly basking in each other’s company. Leon had planned a perfect evening, starting with a romantic sunset walk along the beach as their feet were sinking into the soft sand as the waves kissed the shore. Later, they moved to a cozy candlelit dinner he had arranged just for her. The gentle glow of the candles was reflecting in her eyes as he sat in front of her. “Leon,” Sia’s soft voice broke the serenity as she called his name. “Yes?” he responded, his gaze meeting hers with warmth. “Let’s play a game,” she suggested, her lips curving into a playful smile. “Okay, which game are we playing?” Leon asked, tilting his head with interest. “Let’s play twenty questions,” Sia proposed. Leon chuckled. “Quite cliché, but fine,” he agreed. Since the moment felt too magical to let slip into silence, the game seemed like a fun way to keep the mood alive. She pouted in mock offense but pressed on, “Are you a sunrise or sunset person?” “Definitely a sunrise person

“Sia?”“Hmm,” he murmured in reply, feeling his finger trailing along her shoulder. The rays of the sun bathed her body as they lay near the sea. The first two days were filled with adventure, but today was a much-needed lazy day for both of them.“I think you need sunscreen,” Leon said, his voice low and teasing. “Hmm,” she replied, her eyes still closed. She felt him scooping sunscreen into his hands, the cool sensation was contrasting with the heat of his palms as he began smoothing it over her body. After a few days of silence, Charlotte was nowhere to be seen. Leon had been patient, giving her the space he thought she needed to handle whatever was going on in her life. But as weeks turned into a month with no sign of her, he had had enough. He grabbed his phone and called her. She picked up just as it was about to go to voicemail. Her tired face appeared on the screen. “What’s up, little brother?” she asked, her tone lacking its usual energy. “Charlotte Hart, where the hell are you?” Leon snapped. “Somewhere on Earth. Why? What happened?” she replied nonchalantly, though her eyes betrayed exhaustion. Leon’s frown deepened. “Do you know how frustrating you are? You told everyone you were painting, but this doesn’t look like your apartment, and you look like crap.” He paused, taking a closer look. Her hair was longer, browner, and wavy which was completely different from her usual style. His brows furrowed as something else caught his attention. “Wait a minute… are you

Sia had just wrapped up her work at the office when her phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, she raised a brow in surprise. Softening her tone, she answered, “Hello?” “Hi, Sia,” came Abella’s slightly nervous voice. “Are you busy?” Sia glanced at the clock, noting the upcoming meetings on her schedule. But she brushed them aside and replied warmly, “Not at all. Just finished my work.” “Cool!” Abella sounded a little more at ease. After a brief pause, she asked hesitantly, “Would you like to go shopping with me?” Sia blinked, momentarily caught off guard. Abella was usually reserved and rarely expressed her wishes so openly. The invitation felt like a rare and meaningful step. “Of course,” Sia said, her voice full of encouragement. “When do you want to go?” “Now?” Abella suggested tentatively. “Perfect,” Sia agreed. “Where are you? I will come pick you up.” “I’m at my dorm. Can you come here?” “Absolutely,” Sia assured her. With that, they ended the call. Sia turned to

Along with Nicholas and Anne, Rhys, Callum, Abella, and his grandparents, Ellora and Nikolai, were all gathered around the table. It was a joyous occasion for the family to be under the same roof. “Dad, can you take over for a month?” Leon asked, leaning against the doorframe. Well, if he had to be gone for over a month, he needed capable hands to look after his work. Who did he trust more than Nicholas Hart himself? Nicholas raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “Do I look stupid to you?” Why on earth would he want to return to that cold office building? He recalled the time when the kids were young and he would find all the opportunity to not go to work. He had waited a lot for his retirement. There was no way, he was going back to work! “It’s just a month,” Leon persisted, his tone almost pleading. Nich
