“Who is it?” I asked angrily as I headed to the entrance and opened the door, and to my surprise, my stepmother and my father entered the hallway and walked into the living room.

Why were they here?

This was the second time since I relocated that my father had visited me.

I exhaled heavily before following them behind.

“Father, good morning.” As I spoke cautiously, I pointed at a comfortable armchair for him to sit on which he sat grumpily.

“I'm surprised to see you…” I trailed off as my gaze fell on my obnoxious stepmother.

“What do you mean? Are you not happy to see us?” Madam Charity fired at me.

“No, that's not what I mean.” I rattled out immediately.

“Then, what do you mean? Before I came here, you should know the reason.” My father cleared his throat.
