Sean's POV

“I thought you said you were coming with your wife and my grandchildren.” My mother asked me as we walked into the living room.

“Something happened. She visited her parents.” I informed her calmly.

“Her parents? We haven't seen them, have we?” My father's voice found its way into our conversation. He was sitting in the armchair.

“I mean during your wedding, she had no one but her lawyer to stand for her.” My father added.

“Yeah, I told you her parents were dead right? But somehow, we got a lead that her parents are still alive and fortunately, she crossed paths with them.” I paused, scratching my hair.

“It's a long story, but she needs some time to reunite with them.” I rashly ended the conversation before it took a route of no return.

“That’s great. Maybe on a good day, we will visit them and get to know them.” My mother suggested warmly and I nodded my head.

“Someone whose parents don't know about me, I guess.” Inwardly, I said to myself.

“Alright. I will leave now to tak

Go ahead and call me father from now on.” He said, filled with delight.“Sure, father.” I smiled and we burst into laughter.“Sean, are you going already?” Her mother stepped out of the kitchen.“Yeah, about to.” I raised a slight brow.“How about you stay for dinner and spend the night here?” She suggested, raising an anxious brow.“I can stay for dinner but can't stay over because I have to pick up the kids from school and also settle some engagements.” I declined politely.“But you…” And she is cut off by Leena's voice.“Babe, can we talk?” She asked anxiously, staring at me with a smile.I knew those smiles weren't genuine and her parents might take a hint if I rejected her.“Excuse me, Mother,” I said as I followed Leena to

It doesn't have to be through you.” He said cryptically.“We didn't share those people's c

Leena's POVI paced around my office, staring at my phone and turning away from it.It had been a few days since Max, the managing director in DT Group promised to get back to me.I was worried and afraid if he had suspected me.No matter how my parents tried to assure me that all doubts had been cleared since Max went about to make some findings about our investment firm. The door pulled open after a creaking sound and I raised a brow.“Babe,” I called out to him as he walked to my table and placed a tray containing breakfast on it.“Here's your food.” He kept a long face.“Are you okay?” I asked warmly.“Yeah, I'm.” He said but at first glance, I knew he was lying.I walked closer to him and placed a hand on his forehead. My lips curled in confusion. “You don't have a fever,” I muttered.“But I told you I'm fine. Can you just eat and forget about me?” He half-yelled at me.I wasn't in a good mood, myself, to banter to let it out on him. I exhaled heavily.“Sure. Thanks.” I ended our

Sean's POV“I will explain everything to you,” I said boldly.I couldn't believe I wanted to do this but this was another way to ease my annoyance and also end the banters since I was tired of it.He needed to be out of the picture so we could leave freely and not have any pending transactions outside.“We are all ears.” Her father urged me with his voice.“Actually… I'm not Leena's first husband…” I began.“What?” Her parents were taken aback by my words. No doubt, for someone who didn't know us, they would assume we were one big family and that was true since we left no loop.“She married a man called Mr. James first before…” I began narrating everything to them while they listened with keen attention. At some point, I was annoyed and wanted to stop talking but I continued because one way or the other, I would have to embrace the truth.“So, this is all that has happened all these years.” Her father rubbed his chin.“For a man, Mr. Sean is quite understanding and loving.” Her mother

I read a midnight story to them before they went to bed.” He informed me calmly.“Oh, that's great.” I faced him. “You bond quickly with my children. What about me? He also shared their business BVN with me and applied for a loan of $50 million.” I explained to him and he rubbed his chin, grinning mischievously. “It seems it's almost my turn to start putting in more heat.” He muttered. “Yeah, the more the investment and troubles they face, the more confused they become to run into collecting more loans at the risk of their company.” I nodded approvingly and he smiled. “That's good.” “Where's our boys and Jason?” I asked, raising an anxious brow. Since morning, I had been on a business call with Max, so I hadn't prepared breakfast or come down to know what was happening. “I think they are playing in the lounge.” He looked at me. “Is Veroni

How did something like this happen to both of them?” Leena's father asked anxiously as anxiety lingered in his eyes. “That shouldn't be our problem now.” Sean's father cried out. “What do you mean?” Leena's mother stared at him intently. “Only Sean's body was found at the explosion scene.” He paused. “Leena…. Was he ignoring me? He ruined Sean. He ruined my family and gave us sleepless nights. Why was he so wicked? “How did we get here?” I cried out with all my veins showing through my neck as I collapsed to the ground. As my eyes closed, old memories rushed through like adrenaline. I smiled. “Wow, thank you.” I gushed. “Come with me.” I took his hand as he walked me up to the round table. My eyes met with the plate on the table, a small cupcake was in the center and the chef designed a love shape around it. At the sides of the shape, there was a short note. “Be Mine Forever.” I was taken aback, flustered, and shocked. “James…’’ I trailed of

He also had an alibi that made it hard for us to point him as the victim.” He rashly explained to me. “Am I blind or something? How come for so many years when I was married to him, I never heard of or seen his so-called twin brother? Why are you falling for these lies? I mean, you can even ask around to know if this is true!” I rambled with words in annoyance, firing several questions at them. “We are sorry, Mrs. Sean. We have to follow this case slowly. Besides, he has good connections and I'm afraid of losing my job.” He said skeptically and I smirked. “What? So, you are trying to save your head rather than bringing justice to me?
