Harriet’s POV

I couldn’t believe that dad would think that way!

Why did he think that something would happen between me and Cassius?

There’s no way we would do that without marriage. We only went inside my room to talk privately about our plans.

“Father is weird,” I whispered before I sat down on my bed.

Cassius followed me and sat on the edge of my bed.

“About what?” he asked.

I turned to him with a plan to answer his question. But when I saw his face up close, my lips shut.

Under the lighting, he has long eyebrows, and narrowed eyes, and his irises peeking out below his long eyelashes that glowed like moon.

His nose bridge is sleek and high, and his face was pale and white, but his red lips showed that he’s alive. His appearance itself was very colorful and bright, but his expression and eyes were calm.

When brightness and calmness collide, he gives a strong impression that I can’t easily look away from him, and his images keep on burning inside my mind.
