Roman’s POV

"Fuck, this feels so good." Sofie moaned as I stepped into the jacuzzi and spooned her from behind.

I couldn't help but agree as I buried my nostrils into her glossy hair, inhaling the heavenly tropical scent of our shared shampoo, wafting from it.

I had to admit it.

Doing something as domestic as taking a bath together with her made it all feel so real and believable.

But before I could delude myself further, I shrugged the thoughts off and hooked my arms around her waist, inwardly groaning in satisfaction at the soothing sensation that the warm water in the jacuzzi provided.

We both remained in the calm silence for a while as I sensually caressed the sides of Sofie's body absentmindedly.

Recently, I found myself thinking about Sofie even when she was in my presence or I was in the same vicinity with her.

It felt like a weird, crazy obsession that I still couldn't wrap my head around.

The stupid silly obsession that made me break the first rule of the damn contract.

Sofie’s POV The sound of something vibrating close to me seeped into my ears, forcing me up from the fluffy comfort of the bed.I groaned, exasperated as I blindly reached for whatever it was. When I couldn't reach it, I winked an eye open only to discover that it was my phone and it was vibrating with an incoming call from an unknown international number.Scrubbing the remnants of sleep off my face, I retrieved the device from the nightstand and answered the call before placing it against my ear, "Who is this, and why are you calling so early in the morning?" I yawned as I roamed my eyes around the walls of the room in search of a wall clock."Hey, babe. How have you been? It's Amy and I'm sorry for calling so early. It's late afternoon over here." The familiar voice of my best friend wafted into my ears, and I gasped as relief coursed through me."Amy? Finally, you called! I was starting to think something bad had happened to you. I'm so relieved to hear your voice." I rambled out

Roman’s POV I walked toward Sofie, smirking inwardly as she nervously fidgeted with her shirtsleeves, although the shirt was technically mine.I basked in the proud sensation that engulfed me when I saw how reddened her cheeks were, and how she couldn't seem to hold my gaze, and had her stare fixated behind me.Cupping her jaw with a hand, I smirked, “Was that what you were expecting to hear? That cliché, overused line?”She seemed bedazzled as she finally averted her gaze on me, “I-I don't understand what you mean by that. What are you trying to say?” She stuttered.I chuckled as I cocked my head to look directly into her eyes, “Last night was everything but a mistake, we had a nice time together. I was merely teasing you.”Her hazel eyes widened, “So you don't think it was a drunken mistake then. Is that what you are trying to say?”“Yes, doll. I'd be stupid to deny how much I liked it or did you not like it?” I asked, cupping her face before bringing our lips together in a feather

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée    The souvenir

Sofie’s POV I heaved a sigh of satisfaction as I molded myself further into Roman's broad, muscular chest and he wrapped his arms tighter around me.It'd be nice if I could live forever like this; going to sleep and waking up wrapped in the strong expanse of Roman's chest. But I knew it could never happen. I could only continue to wish for it.Roman had hinted on numerous occasions that he was clearly into me for sex and sex alone, but my stupid delusional mind just wouldn't accept that fact.My more stupid heart just had to betray me by falling head over heels for him.Thinking about the fact that in about two months, I wouldn't have the privilege to wake up beside Roman or have amazing, toe-curling sex with him made me miserable but I wasn't going to make a fool of myself more than I had already done by confessing my love to him. He'd probably laugh at me and null the contract and I couldn't have that.I wanted to be with him for as long as I could even if it hurt me to secretly lo

Roman’s POV "Home sweet home." I said as Sofie and I walked down the stairs of my private jet."Literally. I never knew a day would come in my life that I'd say I missed America's hustle and bustle." Sofie acquiesced with a sigh."Welcome back, young master and madam Sofie." Nathan was at the foot of the stairs with two suit-clad men standing behind him.The men bowed and eased our luggages from us before walking behind Nathan to place them in the car trunk, "You should head back to the company, I will drive us home." I said, to which Nathan nodded as he handed over the car keys to me."Welcome home again, sir," He said before walking off with the men.The drive home was comfortable although Sofie slept for most part of the journey.Cute, I thought as I tore my attention away from the road for a split second to admire her.She soon started squirming in her sleep and I knew she was about to wake up, so I forced my stare away from her."I can't believe I slept off," I heard her yawn an

Sofie’s POV I walked into the house, with a tired sigh escaping my lips as I nodded a greeting to Antonio and the maids.I had gone out to put some things related to the continuation of my studies in place, but I still hadn't told Roman about my educational plans yet because I was slightly scared that he'd be against it.Although, something within me knew Roman wasn’t like that.Glancing at the time on my phone screen, I discovered that it was quite late in the evening and I'd been out for a longer period than I expected.Roman should have been back from the company by now because he usually arrived home by exactly some minutes to six in the evening, and currently, the time was ten minutes to seven. He had also not sent me a message to inform me that he'd come home late from work that day.Well, it wasn't like I had the right to know of his whereabouts anyway, I was just a pawn in his game of pretense.A pawn who he knew would always be at his beck, and call whenever he needed a hole

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée    Confession

Roman’s POV "Hey, man." I greeted as Damien walked in with his boxing gloves hooked around his arms, and a water bottle in his other hand.We were in a private gym downtown to catch up on everything that's been going on in each other's lives."Greece really did great on your skin. It's no longer as pale as a vampire's and you somewhat look slightly human. Welcome back, my friend." He clapped my back before placing his boxing gloves down, and climbing onto the treadmill."Yeah, I guess so. Nana said the same thing, so how has everything been?" I muttered, delivering a jab to the punching bag hanging in front of me."I've been confused and quite stressed about everything lately, and I also feel like the worst scum on earth." He gritted out as the speed of the treadmill increased.I stopped punching the punching bag for a second and stood with my hands akimbo, "What happened, man? Did your mother-in-law say something to you again?"Damien's wife, Chloe, died about five years ago from ch

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée    Back to college

Sofie’s POV Blinding rays of sunlight diffracted through the curtain blinds, and seeped into my tightly shut eyes, yanking me out of a light sleep.Today was d-day, and I felt extremely giddy at the thought of going back to college. No, even giddy was an understatement.I felt elated, ecstatic, joyful, and so merry that I could fly with happiness.I had missed school so much. I had missed socializing with people of my age.But underneath the jubilant wave of excitement swirling within me, there was a thin glimmer of anxiety tinged with trepidation. It had been two years since I last went to school, and I couldn't help but fear that I may seem dull to my course mates. As if to shake off the fearful thoughts of low self esteem issues away from my mind, the alarm on the nightstand dinged. With a deep sigh, I turned it off and darted a wistful stare at Roman's side of the bed.Earlier today, I had sensed him leaving for work, and something inside me wished he was here to encourage me and

Roman’s POV The corners of my mouth quivered in a smile, as I watched Sofie's eyes lit up as the car screeched down to a halt in front of the college building.I never knew a day would come that I'd derive so much happiness in seeing another person being happy.Maybe Damien was right about me getting softer, and less cold to the people around me.It was all because of Sofie and I wasn't sure if the thought didn't scare me.It had not even been up to fifty days since I had met Sofie, and I was sure that if she asked me to pluck down the stars for her, I'd surely do so.I had given up trying to convince myself that it was just lust I felt for her and not something akin to love.Who else was I deceiving anyway but myself? But something still stood, I wasn't going to tell Sofie about my feelings until the contract was over.I wanted to be certain that I wasn't mistaking compassion for love and that I hadn't been brainwashed into thinking I had feelings for her all because we had surreal

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée    Epilogue (Epiphany)

Roman's POV "Happy birthday, Nonna." I beamed up at my grandmother, as I watched her waddle downstairs with the aid of her walking stick. Today was her ninetieth birthday, and it also coincided with the wedding anniversary of my late parents. We had decided to celebrate in a big way to mark the successful completion of Nana's chemotherapy treatment after three whole years, and also the miraculous stoppage of the cancer metastasis. If someone had told twenty five year old me that I'd eventually learn to stop avoiding any event related to my parents, I'd have scoffed at them. I had also gotten the courage to visit my parents' graves a week ago, for the first time since I became an adult. The last time I visited them was more than a decade ago; on the day before I was to travel to boarding school in London. Back then, Nana had told me that I needed their blessing before taking any big step in life. But somehow, I had managed to put off visiting them before Sofie and I got married

Sofie's POVMy erect nipples were instantly in his face, begging for his touch, and sensual ministrations. He scooped up my boobs with a powerful hand, fondled them like stress balls, before capturing a nipple in his mouth while swiftly sliding the lingerie down my feet.Withdrawing from the kiss, he littered kisses down my stomach, along my stretch marks, and the thin, jagged surgical scar at the center specifically."Thank you." He whispered, gazing up at me.Forking my hands through his tendrils of dark hair, I beamed at him. "You're welcome."Then, he reached downward to my throbbing garden of horniness, and placed a thumb against my quivering entrance which yearned for nothing more than his cock."You're so beautiful everywhere." He whispered again before pressing a kiss to my core.Slowly and meticulously, he pried my folds apart, lapped at them like an ice cream cone before sliding his tongue inside me.Roman knew every part of me like the back of his palm; he knew my core, he

Sofie's POVI took a deep breath as I stared at my reflection in the mirror."What is going on in there, Sofie? Do you need my help?" Roman's voice wafted in from the other room. After inhaling shakily for the umpteenth time, I answered, "N-No. I'm fine. I'll be out in a few.""Alright.""Yes." I whispered to myself, as I ran my hands over my body.Over the black one-piece lingerie I had on to be exact.I had no idea what sort of spirit had possessed me to bring the wanton piece of clothing on our honeymoon. We were currently honeymooning at a private resort on a secluded island in Santorini. Regret and uncertainty filled me as I glanced at the stretch marks at the sides of my stomach.I looked so ugly and fat in the lingerie.Although I had worked hard, and literally spent up to six months in the gym after I gave birth, my body had still not gone back to what it used to look like prior to me getting pregnantAnd that made it hard for me to feel comfortable naked, whenever Roman and

Roman's POV"They are here." Damien whispered into my ear, and I instantly whipped my head around so fast, I almost dislocated my neck.We were both standing at the altar, waiting for my beautiful bride to arrive."It's happening." I said, and he squeezed my shoulder in reassurance."And it will be fine. Everything will go well." He said, his voice tinged with conviction."I hope so." "Let me go get her. I'll be right back with your wife in a few." He winked, and clapped my shoulder before trekking out of the garden. My eyes met with Nana's elated ones, and she darted me a smile as she gently stroked her chest, as if to calm my livid nerves."You'll be fine, figlio." She mouthed, and I nodded, mirroring her smile. My heart hammered against my chest in a mix of nervousness, and excitement as the bridal entrance song played, and the onlookers stood up to watch Sofie enter the venue.Ethan was the first to waddle in which drew out loud cheers and laughters from the guests, as they all a

Sofie's POV "Are you done?" I asked the make-up artist as she began to put the beauty supplies away."Yes, Ma'am." She nodded, to which I sighed in relief before staring at my reflection in the vanity mirror. The realization that today was the day Roman and I would legally become one forever, felt real at that moment, and it caused tears to pool in my eyes.I sighed, and managed to blink my tears away before it smeared the make-up artist's hard work.I had no idea why I was crying on such a beautiful day."Oh, babe." Amy's voice wafted into my ears before I felt her hands on my shoulder. "Tears of joy, huh?"She was my matron of honor, just like how I had been her maid of honor at her own wedding.Amy had gotten married to Damien three months ago, after they had both dated for a year, in an intimate ceremony which had just their family, and close friends in attendance.Sniffling, I managed to nod in affirmation.Amy just smiled at me through the mirror. "I can understand because I fe

  • The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée    Wedding

Roman’s POV Anxiety coursed through my bloodstream, as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. It was finally our wedding day. I was supposed to be the calm, and laid-back person between the both of us, but the panic clogging my throat begged to differ. My bowtie suddenly felt too tight for my liking while my hands felt cold yet clammy at the same time. Heaving a deep sigh to calm my tense nerves, I glanced down at the time, before sipping cold air through my teeth. We were currently in one of my bequeathed mansions in California. The wedding was going to take place at a garden nearby, which was dedicated to my parents' memory. It had also been a day since I last saw Sofie, and three hours since I last saw Ethan. Nana had mentioned something about it being bad luck if I saw my fiancée on the night before our wedding. Of course, I didn't believe in superstitions like that but I knew better than to argue with her. "You can do this, Roman. There's no need to fret over your we

Sofie’s POV A YEAR LATER"What do you think of this place?" Roman asked, as we strolled into a building inside The Eiffel tower.Yeah, you read it right. We were at the le jules verne restaurant, which was situated in the super-imposing, historical structure.I had graduated from college a week ago, and Roman had brought me to Paris for a vacation. It was the first time since I gave birth that I was away from Marcus, and I badly missed my son.I knew he would definitely be well looked after by his great-grandmother, and her staff, but a feeling akin to guilt still tugged at my heart.Earlier that day, Roman had even facetimed his grandmother at my request, so I could see him, but it still didn't feel enough in the slightest.I guessed that was what motherhood did to someone. You are never really at peace, if your child isn't with you."Cara mia, are you okay?" Roman asked, pulling out a chair from beneath the table.I faked a smile, "I'm alright, babe. Why do you ask?""You've been s

Nathan replied, from the other end.Afterward, I ended the call.A knock came on the door, just as I was to continue reviewing the pile of documents on my desk. One of my staff walked in, and bowed. "Lunch is ready, sir. Would you like me to bring your meal here?"I shook my head in negation, as I set the documents aside, and made for the door."Where is Sofie?" I asked, as I made my way to the dining room."Ma'am Sofie is waiting downstairs, sir."I just hummed in response, as I ambled down the flight of stairs. My lips automatically gave way for a wide grin, on seeing Sofie. She was already sat at this dining table, and was leisurely refolding the napkins."Have you been waiting too long, cara mia?" Today was my appointment date, and initially, I had thought I was going to be the more nervous between the both of us. But Roman had proven me wrong with how paranoid, and jumpy he had been since the day began. It was the first time he was following me to an appointment, since he was discharged from the hospital, five weeks ago. Wrapping an arm around my waist, he gazed down at me, and said. "I guess I'm just being paranoid over this appointment. The last time I felt like this was when I had to take college entrance examination." My face dissolved in a soft smile, before I tiptoed to pull him into a warm hug. "You'll be fine," I muttered. "It's just an examination to ascertain our baby's
