Chapter 321

"I don't believe so." Hailey finally opened her mouth. She seemed to be loosening up. "Between you and I, the shameless one is obvious."

"How can you prove that?" Kendrick questioned.

"Well, for one, I need to remind you that I'm not the food, it is right in front of you. And secondly, stop giving me that hungry look. It makes me uncomfortable."

Kendrick paused. He was midway through feeding her another spoonful. Was that the look he was giving her? He looked away. Maybe it was true. He didn't even realize that his eyes had wandered more than normal to her dress.

And now that Hailey had pointed it out, she recoiled once more back into her docile cave. She was back to being shy again. And Kendrick continued feeding her, now frighteningly aware of his surroundings. He was no longer checking her out subconsciously. His conscious senses had awakened and so were many other things.
