"Hailey."

Kendrick's voice sent unknown tremors down her spine and his expression from earlier flashed in her memory.

Then he touched her arm and those same feelings returned. The fears that had driven her out of the study room.

"Are you alright?"

His voice came again.

Hailey's throat went dry. She couldn't even swallow the lump in it. And she found herself shifting from his touch. No– she found herself running.

All her senses at this moment were screaming at her to run. And she must do that before her body could fail her and before she broke down.

"Hailey, you're shaking."

There was a hint of worry in his tone. He withdrew his hand almost instantly and cursed under his breath.
