The Accident

Rosa and Willa could only leave with their faces covered in dirt. Before leaving, they ground their teeth as they said, "Avery, this time you can be more ruthless. We won't let you get away with this."

After they left, the room was completely silent. There was not a single sound coming from the huge villa. The deathly silence caused people to be unable to help from panicking. Avery lay on the bed. Her stomach throbbed harder and harder, as cold sweat flowed through her thin clothes. Her tears were always in the corners of her eyes, but she still forced herself to endure.

“Baby, mommy’s heart hurts, so you have to be good." Her palm gently caressed her abdomen, and the child in her abdomen seemed to be able to understand her words. Very quickly, the pain in her abdomen lessened.

The corner of Avery's mouth held a smile, but her tears slowly flowed down. She felt that she had fallen into endless darkness, and her baby was the only light and hope left in the darkness.
