Chapter 35

I used my right hand to cover my face as I caught a glimpse of them walking toward me from the corner of my eye.

I was starting to hear whispers from my classmates as all attention was focused on Jaxson and Finn.

“We are actually here to pay a visit to Ms. Cattleya. I hope you don't mind.” Finn uttered in a completely different tone. He sounded like someone who's trying to be cool. Though he looks a bit cool in his black leather jacket with a white shirt inside, his voice kind of sounds funny to me.

Jaxson, on the other hand, looks like someone who came here to our university to buy some buildings. He looks very classy and expensive in his suit as if there is nothing tangled to be seen here. His hair is brushed up and there is no denying that his face looks so bright.

When I took a peek from spreading my fingers a bit, I saw that they are inch closer to me so I decided to just remove my hand from covering my face and stood up from my seat..

Maybe it would be better for us to just have a talk outside than staying here inside the classroom and grabbing everyone's attention. I don't want to be in their little role play to watch.

Oh, wait.

Now I know the reason why they are here. I am Jaxson's playdate and he might be wanting me to have a little roleplay for the students to see how sweet he is to me that he even came into my university just to give me some flowers.

“Catt, hi!” Finn exclaimed as he waved at me, acting like he just noticed me sitting here.

I smiled at him sparingly and swiftly shifted my attention to Jaxson who was also just staring straight into my eyes. I know exactly what that means. He wants me to act in love and be sweet to him.

I guess this can also be my way to convince Loren more that I am marrying this man because I love him and nothing more.

I gave Loren a secret glance to see how she was reacting but she was just moving her eyes back and forth to us, looking like contemplating the situation.

“Hey,” Jaxson muttered sweetly as he handed me the bouquet of flowers that he had been clutching. “This is for you, babe.”

Jaxson calling me babe is a cultural reset! I mean, I never thought that I could be in a situation like this. I always thought that it is so corny for campus sweethearts to do something like this.

“Thank you…” I uttered, trying to sound very sweet to him.

He didn't avert his gaze to me as if waiting for something. Jaxson is still holding the flowers while I have my hands on it too.

I was stunned for a moment, thinking what is it that he is waiting for before my feet take a step and draw my body closer to him. I reached for his face with my lips and gave him a little peck on his cheeks.

“You are so sweet, b-babe…” I stammered.

I don't know what's with that word that it almost made my heart combusted.

A wide grin grew across Jaxson's lips as his eyes flashed sparkles for a second because of what I just did.

“I love my little Catt.” He said with a faint laugh causing my lips to part.

That's it. That's the end of me! I can not do this anymore!

When I felt that my heart was about to explode with how fast it was throbbing because of the words Jaxson had uttered. I just averted my gaze from him and shifted my attention to Finn. I held out my hand to him to give him a gesture that I am ready to accept his gift.

I winced when Finn moved the paperbag that he was carrying away from me.

“This is not for you, Catt.” He said. “It's for your friend.”

My eyes diverted to Loren when Finn handed her the bag with a popular brand written on it.

“I don’t want your gifts. Why would you give me that? We don't even know each other.” She said sternly to Finn, throwing him a displeased look.

“You are going to wear this to your friend’s wedding. If you do not accept it, then how will you attend her wedding? There is also a wedding invitation inside. Don't be so choosy and just say thank you. I’m the one here who’s giving you a gift that you can wear and you’re the one who still has complaints. If you don’t want to accept it, then don’t accept it. I can still give it to some other ladies.”

Finn said, slightly raising his tone of voice and seemed to feel annoyed with Loren.

Her eyes lifted to me and it looked like she’s thinking of something. I don’t know what it is but it looks deep because of her meaningful looks.

“Give it.” She violently pulled the paper bag from Finn’s hand.

“See? You’ll accept it eventually.”

When the professor made a sound of him clearing his throat obviously calling for our attention, our eyes shifted to him.

“As much as I want to have you in my class, Mr. Madrigal, it is causing too much drama for my students” He said politely.

I turned to look at my classmates and caught them secretly taking videos of us.

“Sorry about that.” Jaxson uttered. “Professor, would you mind if I ask to borrow my fiancé for lunch?”

“Not really Mr. Madrigal. You can take Ms. Santos now and I'll just exempt her from our quiz today.”

I heard the whispers of the people around me again. Maybe they are now thinking about how a scoundrel like me became the fiance of a Jaxson Madrigal.

“That would be great. Then I'll take her now. And also, I would like to say that each and everyone who knows my fiancé, Cattleya, can come to our wedding.” He said as he took my hand.

This man seems to wish to invite everyone he meets for the wedding.

“I'm going.” Loren said sparingly as she stood up and picked up her bag.

Finn in turn gave her a grimace look as he also began to pick up my stuff. “Would you mind if I ask you not to come with us?”

Loren just rolled her eyes at him and she began to walk straight to the door.
