Chapter 55. The Chase

Lynda walked away from Maggie and Nelvan, but Nelvan immediately chased after Lynda to prevent the situation from worsening.

"Lynda, wait!" Nelvan called out, but his hand was grabbed by Maggie, causing him to stop and look at his mother.

"Since when? Since when have you been able to walk so smoothly?" Maggie asked.

"I'll explain later after I manage to stop Lynda from leaving," then Nelvan chased after Lynda, who was now retrieving some of her belongings from the neighboring room before heading out, but Nelvan quickly closed the door.

Lynda glanced up at the man much taller than her, who now controlled the door, not letting her out.

"Move aside, Mr. Xander. I won't bother you anymore." Lynda pushed Nelvan gently, but he held both of Lynda's shoulders, forcing her to look up again.

The gaze and formal tone returned, and Nelvan hated the formal tone coming from Lynda's lips. He gave Lynda a tight hug, and she remained silent without responding or resisting.
