Chapter 49. Monthly Visitor

Nelvan returned at eight in the evening, just as Lynda had finished her dinner. She turned as Nelvan entered the room, loosening his tie, unbuttoning his shirt sleeves before rolling them up to his elbows.

"Have you eaten?" Nelvan asked, and Lynda nodded.

Nelvan sat down with a long sigh, looking very comfortable and relieved to be able to rest.

"How about you? Have you eaten?" Lynda asked back. Nelvan nodded before adjusting his sitting position to face Lynda, using her thigh as a pillow.

"I'm very tired, so please let me stay in this position for a while." Nelvan closed his eyes. Lynda was surprised by Nelvan's request but seeing how genuinely tired he looked, she didn't have the heart to ask him to move from her lap.

"Did Hans drive you here?"

"No, another one of my guards drove me. Hans is currently out of town; he might only return tomorrow morning. But why are you looking for Hans?" Nelvan replied, throwing a new question.

"I was just curious about who helped you push the wheelch
