Travis POV
I introduced her to some business associates and then my mom had a word with her telling her more like warning her not to hurt me. After that, I introduced her to Elijah my best friend. She didn't look so pleased to see him and I knew it was because he was the one to speak down on her first . Elijah was trying to make a conversation but she was just replying in monotone. It was funny watching her being so uneasy. We had to dance and so I took her to the dance floor, the spotlight was on us and it enhanced her features. She was beautiful I'd give her that. When I saw her I was dumbfounded, I know she's pretty but seeing her like this was surprising. We were the centre of attraction as everyone stood watching 'the loving couple' dance. My hand was around her waist holding her firmly while her hands rested on my shoulder as we danced to one of those romantic songs. She was looking away from me and I wondered why. She was supposed to lookAyanna's POVTravis and I had no interaction during the week, we didn't even see each other. He left early and came back late. I was always bored having nothing to do. I've taken up a hobby of watching TV or going through gossips about us on the internet. I was even going to ask him about getting a job but I doubt if he'd answer me."We're having breakfast with my mom tomorrow," Travis said announcing his return.I turn shocked to see him as he was home early by seven. "Okay," I replied nonchalantly."We're also taking pre-wedding photos you don't have to worry about clothes it's over there," he said then walked away from the sitting room.I sighed after he left, I was regretting my decision already and we weren't even married. I wanted to work so I could get back the money I used on my mother's surgery and give it to Travis so I could end the deal but I knew he wouldn't allow it. He came back a few minutes later showered wearing a white tee shirt and grey sweatpants. "Is my dinner re
"You're making me seem like one celebrity, there's no need for the fuss I'm just like you," I said and Rachel laughed."Girl you're nothing like us. You're going to be married to Travis Sinclair, you're guys are the hot topic now. A lot of girls want to be you or get to know you and here we are working with you. Do you know how amazing it is?"I wish I knew, was it bad that people were more excited about the wedding more than I was?"I guess I don't," I answered."You have no idea how popular you've gotten Ayanna," Linda said."Yeah, and it would mean so much to me if you followed me on Instagram and help me promote my work," Bella said."Sure I'd do that, I'd follow all of you," I said and they smiled. What's with people and Instagram? They continued doing their job and we were making small talks in between. Linda brought out the clothes I would be wearing for the shoot and it was so expensive and beautiful. I wore the first which was a long white lacy g
Ayanna's POV"You wouldn't do that." he sounded so sure as if he knew me too well as if he had a plan."Don't dare me Travis, we both know what I'm capable of doing." I threatened further meaning every word I said."Yeah, I'm sure we both know that you're capable of doing absolutely nothing." he retorted staring at me with hatred.Angrily I got out my phone, went to my Instagram, added a picture of us together and wrote. "It's all fake, Travis and I don't love each other, there's no wedding." I read out to him and all he could do was laugh."I dare you to post that Miss Davies." he coldly dared to smirk.I didn't take dares lightly, not especially when I'm angry. He seemed so confident that I wouldn't and I just had to prove him wrong.Just as I was about to post it my phone was yanked away and it was no one other than his mom giving me a hard slap as I turned around it was so painful I wanted to cry and Travis was laughing at me."And what'
"Hurry up Ayanna" he angrily shouted. Travis had woken me up with a loud knock asking if I was ready and I was so surprised to see him all dressed in a casual outfit. I quickly dashed to the bathroom after he gave me ten minutes to get ready. "I'm here," I said running down the stairs to meet him. I didn't think he would take me, most of all not this early. I had intended to take my time, eat breakfast but here I am rushing to catch up with him. We got to the car and it was a four hours journey, thankfully he stopped by a restaurant and we had breakfast together, something that has never happened. We tried making small talks since people were watching, I even saw some secretly taking pictures. The journey was long and boring, we never said a word and I even slept at a time but finally, we had gotten to our destination. I got out of the car and when I thought he'd be on his way back he stepped out too. I began to pa
Ayanna's POV " I just want you to be there, I want you guys to come, I can't do this without you. It would mean a lot to me if you guys come please." I begged and I could see Travis relaxing a bit. I was actually going to tell my family but knowing what they will think of me stopped me and also I wanted to taunt him. I wanted them to come because this was going to be my first and last wedding, I wanted them to be part of it. "Please leave Ayanna and please don't come back except he's gone." he opened the door wide for me to leave and I could see the tears slip from my eyes. "We'd leave but I'd love for you to come, if not for me but Ayanna, it would mean a lot to her." he took my hand and I just let him take me out. I was shattered. As soon as we got to the car I started crying. I hated this whole thing, I hate the deal. I hate that I'm getting married to Travis, I hate that my mother and brother don't want to come and probably hate me. I hate my life and it's all because of
"Travis wouldn't be able to take his eyes off you." Bella beamed. The only reason Travis wouldn't take his eyes off me would be to make sure I don't run away. As if on cue my phone rang and it was Travis. "I can't wait to see you," he said and I knew it meant I can't wait to get this over with, I had to smile telling him I can't wait to see him either and in a warning tone, he added. "Be there." Getting to the venue of the wedding which was in a big church while the reception was holding in one of his hotel I saw some people I never thought I'd see and I rushed to hug them. It was my mother, brother ,Daisy and her family. I was beyond excited, even if they didn't want the marriage to hold they were here to support me. Even if the marriage was fake I was glad they could make it. "Thank you so much for coming," I said hugging them in turn. "Although I'm not happy with your marriage to him I have to be there for you because you're my daughter and I love you." my mom said hugging me
Ayanna's POV Immediately after the wedding, Travis said we had to leave for the honeymoon, I didn't even pack any clothes. "Jenny already packed your bag, I have to be there by 1 pm tomorrow, we have to leave." "So this is just a business thing then," I asked "What's it supposed to be? For pleasure?" he asked mockingly and I scoffed. " I just wanted to make things clear to you that this is just what it is a contract nothing more so don't expect anything." "If I want anything I know where to go." He replied and I rolled my eyes, typical Travis. We got into the car and the driver drove us to the airport and we entered his private jet, I tried not to show my excitement too much, this was the first time for me to be on a plane and it was thrilling yet scary. We were sat beside each other although we wanted to be far away. He had taken off his suit and wore his shirt loose reading something in a file. I was dressed in a light red dress that I had worn for the reception. The
Travis POVIt turned out that he was having a meeting with some important people and he needed me to take notes mentally."The building would be structured to perfection Collins as long as the contract is ours," Travis spoke in his deep sexy voice"We trust you." Mr Collins said and his two other colleagues nodded. There was a lady in their midst who had been eyeraping Travis since and flirting with him but he barely paid attention to her, the poor girl."We can have lunch to fully go over the plans for the building," she suggested batting her eyelashes. She had done things to gain his attention, she purposely dropped her pen and had bent down to pick it, her butt directly facing Travis but he paid no attention to her. Later she opened her first two buttons complaining of the heat. I had nearly laughed at all the things she did and you know what made it funny, Travis never noticed or acted as if he did."I've gone over it with Mr Collins if you need any questions just ask him," Travi
Ayanna Pov The drive home from the hospital was quiet, but the air buzzed with excitement. I sat in the backseat with our newborn daughter cradled in my arms, her tiny face relaxed in sleep. Travis drove with careful precision, glancing at us through the rearview mirror every few minutes, as though to reassure himself that we were both safe. Allison, seated beside me, exhaled deeply, her exhaustion evident. Despite everything, there was a small, satisfied smile on her lips. She had given us the greatest gift of our lives, and no words would ever be enough to express our gratitude. As we pulled into the driveway, Travis turned off the engine and faced us. “ we are home” I looked down at our baby, my heart swelling with love. “welcome home baby.” Travis got out first, opening my door before reaching for the baby carrier. He handled it with such gentleness, as if he were holding something impossibly fragile. Allison followed closely behind as we made our way inside. The mom
Ayanna POV After a few weeks, Jenny informed us about her wedding, and everyone was especially happy for her. It was a joyous moment, and we all looked forward to celebrating with her. Although Jenny insisted I help with the wedding preparations, she was clear about one thing—she didn’t want anything extravagant. She preferred a simple yet elegant ceremony. The wedding was set to take place in the garden of the main family mansion at dusk, with the reception held in the same venue. Unlike most brides who invite hundreds of guests, Jenny kept her wedding intimate. She invited only close friends and family—people she knew genuinely cared about her happiness. It was a small but meaningful celebration, and we all admired her for choosing what truly mattered over societal expectations. Finally, after all the preparations, the wedding day arrived. Jenny looked breathtaking in her wedding dress, the happiest I had ever seen her. The ceremony was beautiful, filled with heartfelt vows a
Author's POV At the clinic, Timothy was still waiting for the result of the exam he had done. Even though the doctor hadn't seen anything serious, being who he was, he preferred to be cautious and have the test done even though they weren't really necessary. When the doctor came to give him the test results, they were surprised to see Travis arrive in a hurry with Ayanna in his arms. The doctor immediately requested a mark and shouted for the operating room to be prepared, pushing the stretcher towards the surgical center. The detective followed, explaining the situation and what had happened, as well as Ayanna's pulse during the journey. along with some other useful information for the doctor. When they reached a certain point, the doctor did not allow them to continue. While the nurses continued pushing the stretcher, the doctor tried to reassure Travis, " Sir, you cannot go any further but I promise to do everything in my power and the possible to save her." " No, I don't
Ayanna Pov I woke up early and made a simple breakfast. Just as I was setting the table, Alison walked into the room. “You’re up early,” I said, glancing at her. She gave a small nod. “Figured I should leave as soon as possible.” I placed a plate in front of her. “Eat something before you go.” She hesitated for a moment, then sat down and started eating. After a few bites, she looked up. “I’ll go straight to Travis, like I promised. But I can’t tell him where this place is. I’ve already betrayed Henry once by going against his plan. I won’t do anything that might put him in more danger.” I studied her for a moment and nodded. “I understand.” And I did. But deep down, I knew it wouldn’t be long before Travis and the cops came looking for me. My necklace had a tracker, and I had no doubt they were already on their way. Alison sighed and pushed her plate away. “Well, I should get going.” I stood up as she did. “Be careful.” “You too, Ayanna.” With that, she left, and I
Ayanna Pov A memory clicked in my mind. "Wait… you’re Travis Sinclair—the adopted son of Mr. Sinclair?" Henry’s lips curled into a sinister smile. He clapped mockingly. "Wow. Good guess." So that was why Henry was angry at Travis. "But he didn't leave you in the fire on purpose. He also lost consciousness, and his face got burnt. It's not as if he was in a position to help you and refused," I tried to defend my husband. "You're so fast, Ayanna. Why don’t you hold on and let me finish my story?" "I'm sorry. Go ahead," I said, not wanting to make him angrier than he already seemed. "Thank you!" Henry said before continuing. "While I lay there unconscious for some time, I eventually woke up—still dizzy—and saw that the intensity of the fire had increased. I tried to reach out to Travis, but the fire had created a barrier between us. I couldn't get to him, so I just lay there, struggling. "Not long after, the firefighters arrived and tried to control the damage. But I w
At a certain point that night, I left the room and found Henry lying on the couch still shirtless. On a side table next to the couch, there were several lit candles. I had to admit that he was making an effort. If only he used this to do something good for someone, maybe he would have found someone who could give his life a different purpose., other than destroying Travis. I went near the glass door and looked outside , wondering if my family members had been rescued, but until that moment, there was no sign of Travis nor the cops and I just wanted to leave this place and get away from this man as soon an possible. I was pulled out of my thoughts when Henry approached with a drink in his hand and a smile on his face." Care to join me? I took the glass to avoid being rude to Henry. He was calm and I didn't want to irritate him any further, for whatever reason. I took only two sips and made an excuse saying that I was going to the kitchen to get something to eat. if I had an empty
Ayanna Pov Luckily, the phone wasn’t broken. Travis picked it up and read the message. His expression darkened with fury. He immediately showed the content to the detective, who turned to me. “What were you not supposed to tell Travis?” I repeated what I had said earlier. The detectives instructed me to send a text confirming that I had only informed him about Timothy and had said nothing about the divorce. I did as they asked. Moments later, a reply came in: Henry: I know there are cops in your house. Do you think I’m stupid? The detective urged me to stick to my original statement. I obeyed, sending another message: Me: I only told him about Timothy, nothing about your request. Henry: Are you sure? Me: Yes, I’m sure. Henry: Alright. I want you to leave the house and come to West Road Junction. Someone will pick you up and bring you to me. And remember—use a taxi. To avoid suspicion, the detective installed a tracker inside my necklace. I changed into a turtlenec
Ayanna Pov It had been three months since Henry stopped contacting me, and I decided it was time to tell Travis everything. I was nervous because I knew he would be angry. But I couldn't stay silent any longer—at this point, I had no idea what Timothy was going through. Travis was still asleep. I hesitated, unsure if I should wake him up or wait. Fortunately, he stirred and gradually sat up. "Aya, why are you still awake at this time of the night?" he asked. "Uhm... I'm just thinking." "About what? Is something wrong?" Travis asked, his voice laced with concern. I hesitated before mustering the courage to speak. "Do you remember the day I went out and told you I wanted a change of scenery?" "Yes, I remember. You didn’t take any bodyguards with you." "Well... I, um... I went to meet Henry." "What?! Why?" "He texted me and threatened to hurt Irene and Allison if I didn’t show up. I had no choice." Travis just stared at me in silence. "I didn’t know how he foun
Travis's POV I had no idea why Irene didn’t like Allison. The girl was harmless, maybe a little reserved, but there was nothing about her that should’ve made Irene act so cold. Still, I knew my daughter well—she wasn’t the type to dislike someone for no reason. I sighed, rubbing my temples as Ayanna tried to reassure Irene. “Irene, with time, you’ll get to like her, okay?” I said, keeping my voice calm. “Just come now. Let’s go eat, then you can shower and sleep. Deal?” She hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. “Yes, Daddy.” At least that was settled—for now. During dinner, I kept an eye on Allison, who was lingering by the table, unsure of where to sit. Ayanna invited her to sit beside her, but the moment Allison spoke, addressing Ayanna so casually, something in me snapped. “Why are you calling my wife by her name?” I asked, my gaze locking onto her. “Shouldn’t it be Mrs. Sinclair to you?” I knew my tone was sharp, but I didn’t care. I had no patience for un
