CHAPTER 4
Yza was walking down the hallway towards Adam's room after coming home from the hospital around six in the evening. The result of her CT scan was okay, and her grandmother needed her attention, so she was going to collect the cash her boss had mentioned. It was likely that the young man had already left since he had mentioned going to another country. That's probably why he left the hospital without saying goodbye, in such a hurry. After that, another nurse came to take her for some tests, and DJ accompanied her for a few hours. They chatted during that time. Then, one of Adam's men came to fetch her. DJ insisted on being the one to take her home, but Adam's employee was adamant about following his boss' orders that no one else should pick her up except for Adam's staff. She wasn't seriously hurt, but, of course, she followed her employer's instructions. Her face was reddened from the slaps she received, and she had bruises on her arms and neck. She acknowledged that it wasn't a simple matter. No one had ever hurt her before, and it was the first time she had such injuries on her body. She held her old basic phone and texted her friend Tiffany about the defense they would be preparing for. She paused for a moment, sent her message, and then pushed open the unlocked door to Adam's room. To her shock, she found a naked woman on the bed, engaging in explicit activities with her equally naked boss, who was leaning against the headboard with his eyes closed. The woman was nibbling on his red lips and making sounds as if she was savoring something. Adam looked incredibly handsome, but why was he so bossy? Her eyes fixed on the woman who was in a compromising position, revealing her entire backside, even the fold, and, yes, even the hole. Oh my goodness! Her mouth nearly said something inappropriate instead of her eyes. The woman was pleasuring the man orally, and she had her head in her hands as she vigorously performed the act. His torso moved erotically as the woman continued the motion. "Damn it! Ahhh! Suck it good!" he ordered with excitement, and the woman intensified her efforts, causing the young man to moan in pleasure. Yza accidentally dropped her phone, drawing the attention of both of them as the phone hit the floor with a loud noise. The young man's eyes widened due to the noise she made. Her mouth hung open, a reaction to the unexpected scene. She rushed to the door, clutching her chest and panting because she had seen something she shouldn't have. "Yza, why are you out of breath, dear?" her grandmother asked, opening her eyes a bit. She looked at her grandmother and swallowed hard. "W-What, grandma? I-I have something—ahem,” she said nervously, unable to find the right words to say. She saw a snake, but it wasn't just any snake. It was her boss's massive member, his Anaconda. She was on the verge of a heart attack from the shock. She had never seen anything like it, but why was it so huge? And why did she feel fear from her employer's massive snake? "What snake? You should have called Adam's staff to kill it," her grandmother said, gasping for breath as well. Both of them were now struggling to breathe. Her grandmother was due to fear, and hers was because of Adam's snake. "N-No, grandma, it can't be killed. It's big, grandma. Really big," she bit her finger and started pacing back and forth. She couldn't get that image out of her head. Oh my goodness! She couldn't get the massive snake attached to the body of such a handsome man out of her mind. Why was she feeling admiration for a naked man engaged in sexual activity after seeing his strange facial expressions with his eyes closed? She wasn't stupid, and she knew it was sex. That's what it was. What's wrong with you, Yza? Those closed eyes and parted lips, as if in a trance over something earthly, added to the allure of her perverted boss. She never expected that an innocent girl like her would be fascinated by a naked man having sex. Holy smokes! She sat on the edge of her grandmother's cot. "Grandma, perform a ritual for me. I might get a fever, Grandma," she said, shaking her grandmother's arm. The elderly woman frowned. "What's the matter, child? It's nothing now. The snake is gone. Don't tell me you think it's an enchantment or maybe an earth spirit." She looked at her. "Where did you see it?" She gazed at the door. "Th-The room of M-Master…” she said weakly, her finger in her mouth. "What? How would a snake get up there? The stairs are too steep and have three turns. It might even be a evil spirit. Go have a ritual cleansing. Go back to Laguna. You might catch a fever and your eyes might swell," her grandmother said, her brow furrowing at first. "No, it's a man's flesh, not evil. It's really big, Lola. I can't get it out of my mind. I might get a fever. It's scary, but the snake is handsome," she blurted out in a daze. Her grandmother slapped her on the arm. "I don't know what's gotten into you, child. You stop it. You seem to be losing your mind because of that blow to the head. Where have you seen a handsome snake? What is that? It might be a elf with a face," they exchanged looks. She couldn't identify it because of that. Should she tell them that their master had a woman with him, and she was the one feeding the snake? Eww! Yza touched her cheeks and shook her head, her eyes closed. Oh no! Oh no! Please, Papa Jesus, I don't want to remember Señorito Adam's snake. She bit her lip. The fear still gnawed at her chest, and despite the fear, she felt a strange admiration for her mysterious philanderer employer. Her innocent mind was battling the good looks and charm of an Adamson Rix de Lorenzo, but it couldn't be. DJ was the one she should like and love. She had only been in the mansion for a week, and that was already what she had received. How much more in two weeks' time or until her grandmother got better? What would she feel for her playboy and sex-loving employer? Wrong, Yza! Wrong! Wrong! She kept slapping herself in the face repeatedly, earning a disapproving look from her ailing grandmother. She looked worse now with her mind in shambles and with more serious illnesses than her grandmother Eli. "Stop it now. You're a child who's fallen into madness. Where do you think you're going? That's what paid for your second-semester tuition. Hurry up. Forget the snake before Adam notices you. Quick! The snake's gone. You naughty child. You're going to be the death of me," her grandmother scolded her. She sighed and glanced at the door when someone knocked. "Yza, dear, Señorito Adam is asking for you," said her older sister Cora, who worked as a laundress in the mansion. Everyone there had their own jobs. Her grandmother was in charge of cooking and cleaning the rooms, which was her job right now . Her sister Cora handled the laundry and ironing. Her sister Perla was responsible for cleaning other parts of the mansion and gardening, and her sister, Isay takes care of washing the dishes and attending to Señorito Adam's staff. So, she was swamped with cleaning her employer's room. "Yza!" Cora called her with a frown while knocking on the locked door. "H-Huh? Why is he calling me?" she asked in a bewildered manner and her grandmother pinched her waist. She flinched and winced. "Of course, he's the boss. What are you thinking, child?" her grandmother said. "He said he wants you to come to his room," Cora added. Oh no! She covered her mouth and shook her head repeatedly. "Why does he want me to go there? I don't want to!" she protested, her nervousness evident. "Just go there. Don't be shy, dear. How could you not go when he paid your tuition for the semester? Move quickly. Forget about the snake before Adam gets mad at you. Hurry up. The snake is gone. My God, child. You're going to be the death of me without warning. Hurry!" her grandmother urged, giving her a shove. She couldn't resist it. It was just a way for her grandmother to wake her up when her childish tendencies took over. "Follow me. Be a good child. How could you not go when he's the one who paid for your tuition for the semester? Forget the snake before Adam gets mad at you. Hurry up. The snake is gone. Damn child. You're going to be the death of me. Hurry!" she said, pushing Yza, who couldn't do anything but follow. She felt like she was carrying a ton of whales on each of her feet because of their weight. How did Señorito Adam pay for her tuition when they didn't even know each other? Maybe her grandmother borrowed the money. It was quite a large amount because it included the refundable f*e for the qualifying exam, which she passed, so she was waiting for it to be returned because it was worth ten thousand. It was the University's budget for those who didn't pass and had to take remedial classes. Another half a semester to learn, so it would add another year before she graduated. But she did pass, so she only had half a year left. But since she was going to have summer classes, it was only a year left. She knew where she was going to return it—her employer's room, where there was a large snake. And she had to save up for other expenses, aside from her future tuition, like her affiliation f*e next week and the seventy-five-thousand-peso f*e for the CPA board exam. DJ was willing to help her, and she agreed, even though they had an agreement to start dating after she graduated. But now, she seemed to have a crush on Señorito Adam. He was incredibly handsome, even though he seemed much older and had an intimidating presence. And now, her heart was pounding as she held onto the staircase railing. She looked at the top and seemed reluctant to climb. Maybe the woman was still up there, eating the snake again. She made the sign of the cross and touched her lips in prayer because of the nerves. She was thinking whether she should go up or hide and pretend she hadn't been called, despite Ate Cora telling her that she was needed.CHAPTER 5As soon as Yza entered he hallway, she felt like her heart was about to explode when she saw the door to Adamson's room. In the end, she chose to obey orders and follow rather than lie. She nervously bit her finger as she took small steps closer to the young man's room. She took a deep breath when she stood in front of the door before attempting to knock on it. Was it her fault earlier for thinking he had left the country? Apparently, he didn't leave and was doing something foolish inside his room with a woman. And then, they forgot to close the door, so she assumed there was no one inside. Was there still someone inside?"Damn you! This isn't enough! I want more of you, Adam!" She heard the woman's voice screaming, causing Yza to flinch. There was the woman. She didn't immediately hear a response from the person she was talking to. After a while, her employer spoke."But I don't want more of you. Get out. I don't want to see your face anymore. I paid you more than enough f
CHAPTER 6Yza gasped and screamed when something outside Adamson’s room walk-in closet broke. Her heart raced with fear as her hands trembled, especially when another loud noise, as if something was being slammed into the wall, followed. She went outside, clutching Adam’s polo shirts as she hurried out.Oh my goodness! She bit her lip as she saw the center table overturned and shattered. She could clearly see the darkness in his master’s face as he held a chair, seemingly ready to slam it into the wall. Just earlier, she had overheard him speaking on the phone, giving orders, but why was he now losing control like this?Did he have an enemy? She exclaimed, crying as she stood there, afraid that his anger might be directed at her.“Oh!” she screamed, flinching as he aggressively slammed the chair into the wall, shattering it into pieces. His dim, piercing eyes gazed at her, making her knees tremble with fear. His jaw tightened as he stared at her, and she was afraid that his anger migh
CHAPTER 7Yza still couldn’t get what happened to her last night out of her mind as she walked along the school pathway, hugging her bag. She couldn’t understand why she felt so sad because of how Adam had treated her. She didn’t feel regret, but why did she feel so heavy-hearted due to the insult she received? Did she look like a prostitute who needed payment? When she woke up, her master was gone. It seemed like he had left for another country, leaving her with a kiss she would always remember as an insult.“Hey!” Tiffany suddenly appeared by her side. She quickly turned to her friend, who had a big smile on her face.“Good morning, Ms. Brina. Why do you look like you’re mourning on a Monday?” Tiffany teased.Yza examined her friend closely and frowned, “Have you ever been paid after a kiss?”Tiffany was momentarily speechless, and then shook Yza’s shoulders. She was almost dizzy from the vigorous shaking of her friend. What the freak?“Oh my! Did DJ kiss you? Yahoo!” Tiffany scream
CHAPTER 8Yza gave DJ a simple smile as they stood facing each other at the gate of the De Lorenzo mansion. He had picked her up from school and was now escorting her home. Time was getting a bit tight because the group had to practice for their upcoming defense the next day. Due to DJ’s concern for her safety, he had called her to pick her up and make sure she would not take a taxi alone.“I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning,” DJ said to her, gently caressing her cheek as she clutched her Accounting books. She was about to nod when two of his employer’s men, who had a hostile look in their eyes, emerged from the gate. “He’s my friend,” she told them, but they just stared at her.“You can’t pick her up. We’ll take her to her school,” one of them, whose name she knew to be Shelton, said firmly, while the other, named Blake, agreed. Her mouth dropped open at what she heard. She glanced at DJ, who seemed to be getting irritated by the two.“What right do you have to say that? You didn’t ev
CHAPTER 9Yza fell asleep while waiting for the doctor to come out of the emergency room and for DJ to arrive. She immediately reached for her phone as soon as she opened her eyes, but it was no longer in her bag or in her hand."What's going on?" She looked around repeatedly, searching under the chair, but her phone was nowhere to be found.Who would take it? It's an old, phased-out Nokia E51. Why would anyone be interested in her broken phone? What kind of high-class hospital was this, and who would bother with her outdated device? Not far away, she noticed Blake standing and poking at something. Maybe he took my phone. She subtly stretched her neck to see what the man was poking at, and to her surprise, it was an expensive smartphone.Darn it! She slumped into a chair in frustration. She almost accused someone wrongly. It's impossible that he's the thief, given how nice the phone he's using is.But it wouldn't hurt to ask. She got up and walked over to the man leaning against the w
CHAPTER 10Yza’s car glided smoothly through the dark road, her gaze repeatedly checking her wristwatch. It took them a while to get going because Shelton had some tinkering to do with the car’s engine, and she had no idea what he was up to. It must have been about thirty minutes before they finished, and now they were probably close to DJ’s condo. Before they even reached their destination, Shelton drove the car through a fast food drive-thru, and with the multitude of items ordered, he piled them all on her and took one for himself.“What’s this? Why so much?” She asked, puzzled, looking at the pile of food. She was clueless because it seemed like food for ten people, and there were only three of them.“It’s an order from the boss. We’ll be in trouble if you get hungry,” Blake replied, glancing at her in the rearview mirror. Now her jaw dropped. She was genuinely amazed by everyone’s actions around her. It would take a lot of courage for her to say that her boss’ intentions were dif
CHAPTER 11Yza hurriedly ran down the hospital corridor, trying to reach the Emergency Room as quickly as possible. She had just come from DJ’s worthless condo, crying all the way. Life had taken a cruel turn, leaving her abandoned by the only person she thought she could run to for help.“Miss Yza, be careful not to trip,” Shelton reminded her, but she didn’t pay attention. He and his companions were carrying the food they had bought for her, but she left them behind, causing the two of them to take big steps to catch up with her.As she turned the corner, she bumped into her grandmother’s doctor, causing her to stop running and discreetly wipe away her tears. “Yza, dear, your grandmother is already in her room. Don’t cry; we still have time for her operation,” the doctor said reassuringly. Yza forced a smile in response.“We hope that when we find the person who will match your Grandma ’s kidney, her body won’t reject it. But it’s a rare case to happen if your grandmother’s a perfec
CHAPTER 12Yza was fast asleep on the single bed, which was positioned against the wall. She held onto a pillow tightly, her body curled up to fend off the cold from the air conditioning earlier. However, she now felt warm and something was draped over her trembling body. She had been too lazy to get up, so she just clung to the pillow. But why did she suddenly have a blanket now? Who had covered her?She had to wake up early because it was her defense today. As she remembered that, she jolted awake. She closed her eyes again due to the harsh light coming from the ceiling, but she opened them once more when she thought she saw the silhouette of a man sitting alone on the sofa, facing her.Rapist! Her mind screamed, and her eyes widened in fear. She even pinched herself. However, it wasn’t a rapist sitting in her grandmother’s hospital room, but her boss.Had she made it home? She glanced at him; he was pretending to sit on the sofa, staring at her. She immediately felt self-conscious
CHAPTER 20Yza’s grandmother remained silent as she entered the hospital room. The old woman gazed at her with a look suggesting she had much to say or inquire, but it seemed difficult for her to express. Does her grandmother know something? Yza thought so, given the peculiar way she was being observed by the old lady.Yza smiled, sensing her grandmother’s emotions. When the two helpers finally bid farewell to return to the mansion, the old woman spoke, “Yza, my grandchild,” calling her to sit beside the bed.Eli seemed on the verge of tears immediately, prompting Yza’s own tears to flow. They were quite shallow emotions, but she was extremely sentimental.“I have something to tell you, ‘La,” she said, leaning slightly. Her grandmother held her hand, and she looked into the old woman’s eyes. “I know. Adamson told me this afternoon before picking you up from school. I’m sorry you got caught up in my situation. I wish you hadn’t agreed to buy a donor because I don’t know if you and he w
CHAPTER 19"MA'AM," Shelton said to Yza, arms crossed and lost in thought. She leaned lazily against the back seat of the car, seemingly indifferent. Her gaze, initially fixed outside the window, shifted to the man seated in the passenger's seat. Her eyebrows arched slightly, prompting him to hand her a paper bag bearing the Samsung S8 logo. Her brows arched higher. "What's that?" she asked softly. He smiled before replying. "Boss asked me to give it to you," he said.Samsung? A cellphone? S8? Oh my goodness! That's expensive! She felt as if the air left her lungs, recalling the ridiculous price of the device Shelton held in his hand—forty thousand pesos. Good grief!"No, return it to him," she said, turning her gaze back out the window. "Even my outdated Nokia got stolen at that high-class hospital. What more with this forty-thousand-peso gadget? The thief might chop off my hand if I don't give it to them.""I can't, Ma'am. He’ll shoot me," Shelton responded immediately. Her brows fu
Chapter 18Yza glanced at the walk-in closet’s door as Adam entered, holding a folder with the marriage certificate. They exchanged looks before his gaze shifted to the night dresses she was inspecting. His mysterious smirk returned, and she averted her eyes, feeling as though he was fixated on her wearing those sexy outfits every night. She shook her head abruptly. "Is there a problem, Yza?" he suddenly asked."N-No? I was just going to see grandma. Is it okay? You understand that—""That what?" he interrupted from behind, causing her to turn. He was taking off his T-shirt, and she involuntarily swallowed at the sight of his well-defined muscles, even from behind."Um, that I won't be sleeping here, right? Will you be upset? I know you bought me, but..."She entered into marriage for financial reasons, devoid of love. It seems Adam's proposal was merely to avoid offending her, yet she is aware of his potential to easily seek annulment when he's done with the arrangement."That I need
CHAPTER 17 Yza looked at the door of the walk in closet when Adam entered there carrying the folder with the marriage contract. The two of them looked at each other before he glanced at the night dresses he was looking at. He has that mysterious and obscure smirk again. His eyes returned to her so she looked away. It’s as if the contents of his brain are the way she looks wearing those sexy clothes every night. She shook his head violently. “Is there a problem, Yza?” Adam suddenly asked. “Huh? W-Nothing. I’m going to grandma. Is that okay? You understand, don’t you—” she couldn’t continue. “What?” he asked behind her so she turned around. She saw that he was taking off the t-shirt he was wearing so she swallowed when she caught a glimpse of his body. Damn his muscles. Even his back is perfectly defined. Yza immediately turned around when she felt that he was about to face her. “I can’t sleep here tonight. Will you be angry? I know that you b-bought me but because…
Chapter 16Yza continued into the mansion upon getting out of the car, leaving Adam chatting with Shelton near the car’s door. Despite not wanting to leave him, she hesitated to eavesdrop on their conversation. She wasn't the one to gossip. Later, she might even get scolded or worse, cry about it. Best to avoid it."Take away his license to practice law, or I'll shoot that jerk," Adam's stern words reached her, causing her to freeze by the sofa, hand over her chest. Adam, with furrowed brows, looked undeniably irritable, yet oddly handsome.Lawyer? Whose lawyer could be his enemy? she wondered. Only one lawyer had drawn Adam's sharp gaze earlier, the one relentlessly interviewing her. They had just come from the judge who signed their marriage contract, then Adam took her to the De Lorenzo law firm. Who among those lawyers irked him? They all seemed respectful, almost unable to function properly in his imposing presence.Shelton paused, noticing her gaze. Adam stared at her with inten
CHAPTER 15Yza was extremely surprised when suddenly their defense group entered the canteen, shouting excitedly. Tiffany led them in a group hug, and they were all so joyful. However, when she saw Adam’s serious expression, focusing his eyes on them. She felt a bit agitated, fearing he might get angry because of their noise.“This calls for a celebration! We’re ready for the training! We have the highest grade, and you’re the ‘A’ in the group,” Jane said to her.She pointed at herself, puzzled, and asked, “Me?”Unnoticed by her companions, she glanced at Adam, who was now intently examining the Kikiam on his plate, as if it were not food but trash. He had a furrowed brow and prodded it with his stick, looking at it as if it were some strange object from another planet, not a meal.“Do you want some, s-sir?” she asked finally, making her friends stop their nudging and stare at Adamson. He looked at her. “Revise the question. You’re making me old,” he said with a grin. She quickly unde
CHAPTER 14"UY, what's that?" Tiffany nudged Yza while she was sitting in the canteen after their defense. Her friend was carrying a soft drink and four sandwiches, while Yza had only one. She had lost her appetite, especially now that she saw the marriage contract between her and Adam. Her boss moved so quickly. How did he manage to obtain a CENOMAR without her knowledge? What kind of magic did he perform? Money could indeed make people do or acquire anything they wanted. What she didn't know was whether their marriage was genuine or just for show. Maybe the document in front of her was not even registered at the municipal office. She looked at her friend and said, "Marriage contract," with no emotion.Tiffany sat down beside her and began to eat while glancing at the open folder. "For whom—yours and DJ's?" she asked, causing Yza's face to contort in frustration. "Don't mention him to me, Tiff. He's despicable. I caught him with not just one but two other women," she recounted in dis
CHAPTER 13 ADAM couldn’t believe what he just got in mind when he heard about Yza’s problem. The woman he had been watching for a long time since he saw her come to his mansion about a month ago. Yza has that pretty face he wasn’t able to brush off his mind who were talking to his trusted Grandma Eli… Adam was going down the stairs while buttoning when he heard the unfamiliar voice of a woman in the kitchen of the mansion. It was giggling and he felt like it was still young. “Boss, ten minutes before the flight leaves.” Shelton said to him while standing at the main door but he just raised his hand as a sign that he should not remind her anymore. He looked again at the opening of the kitchen but because his kitchen was so big, he couldn’t easily see the helpers there because the kitchen and working table were at the other end. “Who’s here?” He asked the staff with raised eyebrows. “Ah, Grandma Eli’s grandchild, boss.” He was still smiling so his eyes suddenly became sharp
