Chapter Seventy-Nine - Running Late

“Ding!” I was jolted out of my peaceful sleep by the sound of the alarm clock. I opened my eyes to find myself in a strange room, different from the one I used to know. I tried to get up from the bed, only to notice an arm wrapped tightly around me. I turned to my side to see who it was that trapped me. I was more than surprised to see Charles fast asleep.

“Charles!” I called out. “What happened? How did I end up here?” I asked, trying hard to recall how I ended up here by this time, my mind playing tricks with me.

Charles woke up, looking all charming and handsome. He drew me closer and placed a gentle kiss on my lips.

“There's nothing to worry about, babe. I just want to be with you,” he smiled.

“C'mon, I should be in my room and this is…” I paused and peered at the clock. “5 am, Charles! I've got to leave!” I struggled out of his grip, but to no avail.
