David had a complex look in his eyes.

He softly inquired, "Does someone wait for you at home?"

Rowan was surprised for a moment, then understood his mistake.

In their last two meetings, he wrongly thought there was a special closeness between her and Janes. Now, it didn't matter if he kept misunderstanding, as long as she could get away smoothly.

So, Rowan didn't say no.

After a pause, he asked casually, "Aren't you the one needing to hurry back?"

"Yes," David agreed quickly.

Rowan realized she was making things uncomfortable by asking too much.

She looked away, as if trying to hide, afraid to see his expression.

Rowan put on a relaxed facade and spoke, "If there's nothing else, I'll head out first. You should go back early too."
