Chapter 57

“I think we have to stop here guys,” Tasha said to her students an hour later with her usual disarming smile. “We’ll meet again next week.”

“Thank you Dr. Tasha,” the students erupted.

Tasha put her tabletop into her leather briefcase bag.

“You all have a good evening,” she said and walked out of the lecture room.

“You too,” the students said to her back.

She quickly made her way to the faculty parking lot, shivering as the winter cold blew into her face. Tasha opened her SUV car door, dropped her briefcase bag on the passenger seat before she sank into the driver's seat and started the car. She backed out of the parking lot to link the road that led to the campus’ main gate.

Tasha arrived at her doorstep seventeen minutes later and the front door opened before she pressed the doorbell.

“Hey sweetheart!” Grant's face lit up as if they were just seeing each other in weeks, instead of a few hours ago.

“Hey you too,” she walked in. “Is someone missing me already?”
