Chapter 17

Blake's phone started ringing before he could put it down after his call to Tasha. It was his sister calling, he swiped across the phone screen and said, “Hey.”

“Can you come over on your way from work?” Jolie asked after they exchanged pleasantries. “I thought we could talk about Dad's birthday.”

“Yeah, his birthday. Is it not too early to start planning?” He responded like a typical man. “It's still September, we are in June.”

Their father would be clocking sixty-five in the first week of September.

“September is not too far,” she enlightened him. “The earlier we start planning the better.”

“It's okay,” he said. “I will leave the office in the next thirty minutes.”

“Okay see you soon,” Jolie said and disconnected the line.

He called Stacy again to tell her about his movement. She told him she was not ready at the moment to go home. She had to have a one-on-one meeting with Jake about a new account.

“I'll see you later at home,” he said.

“Yeah, later,” she replied and they ended
