Chapter 51

"I wonder what would have happened had the ambulance been delayed another minute. I am grateful for their swift intervention," Edward said, explaining to his son who was seated next to him at the visitors area of the St Anthony hospital.

Cynthia had been rushed in by the ambulance after she choked during lunch.

Charles had been at the hospital for the past four hours. He had to rush down to the hospital after his father called him earlier in the day while he was still at work.

"So what exactly happened?" Charles asked.

"I don't quite know what happened. All I know is that I was in the gym when all of a sudden I heard voices in the living room. I rushed down only to find your mother unconscious in the arms of Matilda," he said.

"Unconscious?" He queried and unrolled the sleeves of his shirt.

"Exactly. Matilda tells me she choked on a poorly cooked carrot. And after she helped your mother to get it out, she suddenly fell to the ground," he informed his son.
