I picked up my headphones and opened my bedroom door as quietly as I could. I can't have Carina or Martin stopping me from getting my morning run today.

I tiptoed in my sneakers and headed for the door, the living room was in darkness so I hurried.

I got to the door and pulled the knob, “where do you think you are going?” The light switched on as I heard Carina's voice.

“I'm going for a run around the compound,” I said to her and she scoffed.

“Oh really, with your big headphones,” she said and I clicked my tongue.

“Well, you can't stop me,” I said to her, she folded her arms. I opened the door to see Martin and two of the guards standing in front of me.

“Good morning, Martin,” I said and turned around to the living room. I walked past Carina.

I stopped in the bedroom hallway and walked back.

“No!” I yelled, “I can't keep doing this,” I said to them.

“We are only trying to protect you ma'am,” Martin said.

“What he said,” Carina responded, not looking up from her laptop.
