The bath was going pretty well for Loretta. She was in the tub and had the shower head over her. These were some of the showers she never wanted to end. She could just stay in there for hours, but the hunger in her system wouldn't let her.
She was already feeling her worms again. She was a bit annoyed that she felt the sting because she thought she'd starved them to death. Guess not.
On the other hand, Kendrick was trying his best in the kitchen to make Loretta's turkey lasagna turn out OK. Truth be told, he didn't exactly know how to make any kind of lasagna. Even after making sure he had all the ingredients ready in the kitchen, he still had one ingredient missing.
He didn't know if he would call it fate, coincidence, or something
"Sia? Who's that? " Kendrick asks."You don't know who Sia is?" Loretta asks, moving back in her seat, trying not to believe what Kendrick just said. She felt it was impossible for Kendrick to not know who she was talking about.I'm sorry, I don't know who she is. Who is she? ""A musician, obv
I just remembered July 4th, how I and my buddy Santiago almost blew my fingers off. So I asked what you did on the 4th of July. "Deciding to just go on with the conversation, she says, "I just did the usual fireworks, I guess. That's the only loud stuff I can enjoy for a bit.""Ladies don't do fireworks, Loretta, you leave that to us men."
"Shit!" She cursed, squatting to pick the broken pieces up. I am so sorry, Kendrick. I'm really sorry. Kendrick squats too, really close to her now, to help pick up the broken pieces. It's OK, Loretta, let me help. Don't pick them up too quickly, or you'll cut yourself. " Feeling his hot breath close to hers now, it didn't exactly have that minty smell like it did back at the office, but it did smell good. She looked up at him, and she saw he was looking at her, so she put her head down again. This time, she got over what was wrong with her quickly enough to stand up and apologize. "I'm sorry, I'll pay for it." "No, it's fine. It was an accident; it happens every time. I'll dish the food; you go sit down at the dining table. " The table was obviously made of glass too. I mean, if the kitchen island was made of glass, there was nothing to stop the dining table from being glass too. Loretta sat patien
So much for a juicy grace, so much for a turkey lasagna, so much for actually being in Kendrick's house in the first place. These were the thoughts going through Loretta's mind as she stared straight at Kendrick, waiting for him to say something. She had already lost her appetite, and she could feel the rage burning in her. She hated people with the attitude of easily flaring anger without actually approaching the situation like a normal human being. It pissed the hell out of her. And now she's starting to feel something for Kendrick, and he does this. Hopefully, whatever he was going to say wouldn't make her say anything hurtful, because he was good at that. And her favorite jammies were lasagna stained, which made her want to cry; the thought of getting home, taking it off to wear another one, and then adding it to her laundry was exhausting. She felt the imaginary glue on her seat loosening up. She was just a snap away from getting up and asking to go home
"I deserve it." Kendrick kept saying this as he went back to the car. He kept thinking about tonight, regretting not telling her. It would have been easier. He told himself, "Why didn't I just tell her? She'll never talk to me again. I know this for sure. I just hope she does talk to me. " Loretta, back at her apartment, leans with her back on the door, hating how the whole thing ended. It was close to a total disaster. She did nothing but sleep while it rained outside. *** Waking up wasn't that bad; everywhere felt peaceful. Loretta got up from bed to check the time. It was past 9 a.m. How did she sleep that long?
Sunday was going by pretty fast for Loretta, with her just watching thrillers and horror films all day. She also finally did her laundry; the stain on her fleece PJs wasn't that difficult to wash off. Not knowing what else to do, she just stood and watched the clothes spin in the washing machine. Now holding a huge bowl of popcorn, she sits upside down on her sofa, watching one of the thrillers. Then she heard her phone ring, and the sound was combined with someone screaming. She sat up straight and saw that it was Roy calling. "Hey Loretta, how you doing?" "I'm OK." She says, while stuffing popcorn in her mouth, the crun
"Damn it!" a voice sounded from behind the shelf, as a flower pot fell to the ground and shattered, making a mess of flowers and dirt. Loretta moves some of the flowers a bit, to get a tiny glimpse of who was going to pay more than they bargained for. She saw blonde hair, and when he turned his face, she saw it was him, the man she'd seen at the meeting that she recognized, but didn't know where she'd seen his face. Mom, you said this would be easy. Well, it's not... no..why did you send just me to a flower shop? You know, I don't do so well with flowers. " From what Loretta heard, he was talking to someone on the phone now, and from what she saw, it was his mother. He just dialed her number. Yes, I broke something. Now I got to pay extra, and I still don't know what to get her... no, I said no mom.." He bent to pick more broken pieces off the floor, but Loretta could still hear what he was saying.
Of course, Loretta had to explain exactly who the flowers were for to Roy on their way to his house because he wouldn't stop pestering her to tell him. It was getting pretty annoying, but she couldn't tell him that. It would sound too rude. And if telling him would make it stop, then why not? The drive to Roy's house was longer compared to Kendrick's. Maybe it was because he took a shortcut, or maybe it had something to do with his cranking the accelerator. They didn't talk much during the drive, which made Loretta think of Kendrick and why he hadn't called her all this time. Maybe not to apologize again, but at least act as she exists. She felt if she called him, it would make her desperate. But it was totally fine if he called her. She wanted to know what happened to Kendrick's family. "Hey, Roy," she breaks the silence. Sorry, I know I said the flower shop was closed. I sort of lied. You don't have to call me o
I'm going to take Loretta into the gaming room right now. Are you planning to attend? Alex inquires."Yeah, I'll be there in a sec. Allow me to finish emailing this to my employer, Diego,""All OK, see you then."Loretta's favorite room in Alex's huge mansion was undoubtedly the gaming room, which she had discovered recently. They used it to play a variety of entertaining games. They most likely did it on a regular basis. Loretta had no idea, but they had been going in there every Friday night since she had started working there and having Olivia spin and fall on whatever game was on the game board to select what they were playing to determine what they were playing. They were now playing checkers, and Olivia had a good chance of winning. She appeared to be an adult trapped in the body of a four-year-old.Loretta wasn't actually on the winning side, and this was most likely due to the fact that she was preoccupied. She was glancing across the room a
"Loretta! Loretta!" yells the crowd. Lauren's voice may be heard in her dreams or her mind's ears. Was she in a coma once more? Was this something that was going to happen again? Lauren's speech was becoming clearer, so it didn't appear like she was in a coma; rather, it appeared that she was in a dream that she was now waking up from. "Loretta, get the heck out of bed."Her eyes pop up, and the first thing she notices is Lauren's face, which is near to her. Lauren doesn't hear her murmur a few words that she says."Can you tell me what that was? "Sorry, I didn't hear you.She expresses herself more firmly today."I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." She gets to her feet and assists Loretta in getting to her feet."Can you tell me what happened?" Loretta inquires."You had a fainting spell, which was strange. Since then, I've been attempting to jolt you awake. We encountered Stenz in a dream, and I'm not sure what occurred, but I'm sorry I'm
"Who the heck is that?" "If you don't mind, I'd be happy to do it once again." When she answers the door, she is greeted by the one person she did not expect; Lauren."Lauren? What... and why? "What the heck is going on?!"Lauren hugged her tightly, and you could tell it was particularly tight due to her pregnant belly.Laura, don't squeeze yourself so tightly, you're going to burst.""Come on, Loretta. You can do it." "I'm very sure that's not how it works; everything is working wonderfully.""What are you doing here, Lauren? What are you doing?" You've arrived at my friggin front door. I feel like I've been paid a surprise visit."I'm aware that I'm at your door, Loretta, and I was wondering if you would mind letting me in? The travel was lengthy, and I know you're aware that I'm expecting a child."Why didn't you simply take a plane or something?" says the other."Pregnant.""Who says pregnant ladies can't fly by plan
Lauren was dealing with Matt during the first week of December, but she was also thinking about a lot of other things at the time. It didn't appear to be much of an issue at first, but it turned out to be. When Matt returned, the first week of December had been a complete and utter disaster. She had just completed tidying up her flat in preparation for Lorenzo's arrival for supper at her residence. It had taken her hours, but she had finally completed her task. After then, someone outside pressed the buzzer.Loretta not only had a good doorbell, but she also had a good buzzer to go with it. It represented the word "home" for her. She assumed it was Lorenzo, but he had arrived far too soon for the time they had agreed on. It didn't matter whatever way she opened it; to her dismay, it turned out to be Matt. She closes her eyes, perhaps out of shock, but perhaps not out of shock. "Get out of here.""Lauren, come on, let yourself be seen. "Let's speak about it."
The knocks were soft on the door. Loretta thought it couldn't have been one of the nurses coming to check up on her because they'd knock once and come right in. Loretta's first guess was Kendrick, so she tries standing up to go check. She reached out for her crutches next to her when her mother said not to."Don't worry, stay where you are. I'll go see who's at the door.""Mom, it's my hospital room. I can get the door myself.""Yeah, strong head, when you don't have a broken leg, you can get your doors yourself. She walks over to the door, muttering, "I leave you to live on your own, and soon you will have an accident and land yourself in a hospital with a broken bone." This was why Loretta would never mention that she had just woken up from a two-week coma. She opens the door while Loretta tries leaning forward to see who's at the door. "Who is it, Mom?"Oh, it's just a nurse that just told me hi, a really attractive nurse.""Let him in, M
Sixteen hours had passed, and Kendrick still hadn't shown up. Loretta had to force herself to believe that Kendrick was OK, and he was either still asleep, which was very unusual but also expected since he was a zombie because he wasn't sleeping, or he was probably at home doing whatever. She was sleeping now. She had a big day in the morning. She had told her mother about her accident. She called her on Kendrick's phone, not because she wanted to, but because she had to. Now her mother would be in the hospital with her in the morning. Like every other mother, Loretta, too, didn't like to be late. Okay, not every mother, just a reasonable number of mothers, liked to be punctual. Loretta ate punctuality for breakfast, so she would be there pretty early. Sadly, punctuality eating wasn't passed down to Loretta, and no one else besides her, because she was the only child. Nurse Beatrice was a really good help, but sadly, she was a human being and she took
True Loretta had just told Kendrick that she was the said universe stopping their relationship, but she left out the most important part, the part where she doubted herself and she wanted not to let go, but as she'd been telling everyone to let go, no one told her to let go.To think of it, there wasn't much to let go of, except the fact that she felt no one could ever love her forever. It was actually in her past when her college boyfriend broke up with her for a really stupid reason. She couldn't believe it. While she was busy loving him, he was busy thinking of ways to leave her.Why would you break up with a reliable human being for some chick that said she would buy him the latest sports car? That was dumb and stupid, and Loretta felt every guy was just the same, dumb and stupid, and the last couple of years she's been asked out by that gender, they prove her right.Except for Kendrick, he somehow succeeded in proving her wrong, and now here she was with hi
Loretta was sort of happy that Nadine didn't see her in her terrible state, but also sort of wished she had because she could have told her exactly how she was without withholding. She would want to withhold, but Loretta would tell her not to, and she wouldn't hesitate to not withhold."Doc wouldn't let her, something about may not be able to stand seeing you. I think he needed just positive energy, which I found out she was the one with the most positive energy. For someone her age, she took it pretty well. ""What did she say? Did she say anything? ""She did say something. She said she'd talk to you when you woke up. That was pretty nice to hear, especially since I and Sebastian were freaking out. Mostly me anyway. Sebastian was too busy telling me to get your parents, but I told him I didn't know how to because I hadn't met your parents, and he was sort of disappointed that I didn't. He was pissed."Kendrick, how did you find me?" Loretta asks, and sh
Kendrick must have thought it was all a dream because it felt like it was, because jumping awake to Loretta saying his name, surprisingly loud, felt like he was dreaming. I mean, what are the odds that he would just close his eyes after his grand speech, and wake up to Loretta staring him in the eye?He reached out and touched her eyelids. She flinches. You can't blame him. He'd hardly slept in more than a week. For all he knew, she wasn't real. She calls his name again, but this time in a slow whisper, like she didn't believe he was there for real. "I remembered your name, Kendrick. I remembered." She reaches out for him and stops.Normally, in situations like this, all you could think of is calling a nurse in, or even calling a doctor directly, but Kendrick was stuck. He was confused and didn't understand what Loretta meant by remembering his name. He was brought out of his current confused state and placed into another. When her HRM started acti
