Marcus stood in front of Theodore’s desk, his expression neutral as he delivered the update. “Mr. Thatcher, Miss Nadia has been discharged from the hospital. She’s now at the house with Miranda.”

Theodore remained seated in his chair, his fingers steepled under his chin, unreadable as ever. “How is she?”

“She’s doing great, according to the doctors. There are no complications, and she just needs to continue resting.”

A slow exhale escaped Theodore’s lips. It was nearly imperceptible, but Marcus noticed it—the slight tension leaving his shoulders, the barely-there sign of relief.

“Ensure that the security around the house is reinforced,” Theodore said, his tone sharp and businesslike, as if he wasn’t affected at all. “And make it clear that Drake is not to come anywhere near her.”

Marcus gave a slight nod, already anticipating the order. “Understood, sir. I’ll handle it.”

Theodore didn’t respond, simply turning his chair to face t

The scent of warm toast and scrambled eggs filled the kitchen as Nadia carefully sliced fresh fruits for Chris’s breakfast. A plate of whole wheat toast, boiled eggs, and a smoothie rich in vitamins sat neatly on the counter. Chris had been doing better—healthier, stronger—and she wasn’t about to take that for granted. “Do I really have to eat all of this?” Chris groaned, poking at the neatly arranged meal in front of him. Nadia chuckled. “Yes, you do. If you want to stay strong, you need to eat healthy.” Chris made a face but didn’t argue. She ruffled his hair before returning to the stove, flipping the last pancake with ease. In two days, she would be visiting a cancer treatment center, one of the organizations chosen to receive millions in funding from her project. The thought warmed her. It was one of the few things that made this arrangement with Theodore worth it. She had been planning this visit for we

The night was calm, the air crisp with the scent of chlorine and the faint aroma of jasmine from the nearby garden. The sky stretched endlessly above, a deep navy canvas sprinkled with stars. The soft ripple of water echoed in the stillness of the estate as Nadia stepped outside, her bare feet making almost no sound against the cool stone tiles. She had been in her room, preparing for bed when Miranda had knocked on her door."Mr. Theodore wants to see you by the pool."Nadia frowned but didn’t argue. She slipped into a light cardigan over her casual clothes before making her way outside. As she turned the corner, she saw him. Theodore was sitting at the edge of the pool, his legs stretched out, a glass of deep red wine in his hand. The soft glow of the pool lights reflected on his sharp features, making him look almost otherworldly. His expression was unreadable, his gaze locked on the liquid swirling in his glass as if lost in thought.Nadia hes

Nadia stepped out of the car, the afternoon sun casting a soft glow over the charity center. Dressed in a simple pair of jeans and a white T-shirt provided by the foundation—printed with a colorful design supporting children with cancer—she looked nothing like the fiancée of a billionaire. There were no expensive dresses, no designer heels, no jewelry that screamed luxury. Just her, in comfortable sneakers, ready to step into a place that once held so much of her past. And that was exactly how she wanted it.She adjusted the hem of her shirt, her fingers brushing over the fabric as she took a steadying breath. The moment she entered the building, a group of nurses greeted her with warm smiles.“Miss Nadia, welcome back,” one of the senior nurses said, her voice filled with genuine gratitude.Nadia smiled in return. “I’m happy to be here.”“We’ve been so excited to show you all the improvements we’ve made thanks to the donation from Thatch

Nadia held Theodore’s gaze, searching for an answer in his unreadable expression. He didn’t look uncomfortable, exactly, but there was something about the way he stood there—silent, unmoving—that made her realize the truth. He doesn’t know how to interact with kids.It made sense. Theodore Thatcher wasn’t the type to deal with small, fragile things. He was used to commanding boardrooms, negotiating million-dollar deals, and being the cold, untouchable figure of Thatcher Enterprises. But here, in front of a room full of bright-eyed children, he looked… out of place. The nurse beside him, oblivious to the tension, still held an eager smile. “Mr. Theodore, would you like to say something to the kids?”Theodore didn’t respond immediately. His sharp gaze flickered briefly toward the children, who were watching him with curiosity. Some whispered among themselves, and Nadia could tell that, despite not knowing who he was, they could sense he was

It was already three in the afternoon, and it was time to leave. The children, who had been full of laughter and energy throughout the day, now had tears welling in their eyes."Nadia, please come back soon!" one of the younger girls cried, clutching onto her hand."I will," Nadia promised, kneeling to hug the girl tightly. "Be strong for me, okay?"The little girl sniffled and nodded.Others gathered around, waving, their faces a mixture of smiles and sadness. “Thank you for today!”“Come visit us again, Miss Nadia!”“You too, Mr. Theodore!”Theodore stood slightly off to the side, watching the scene unfold. He wasn’t used to emotional goodbyes. He didn’t even know how to react to them. The way the children clung to Nadia, the way they looked at her with so much admiration—it was unfamiliar territory for him.

The sun peeked gently through the palm leaves as morning arrived on the island, painting the horizon in soft shades of gold and peach. A salty breeze whispered through the trees, stirring the embers of last night’s campfire. Nadia stirred first, her cheek nestled in the crook of Theodore’s shoulder, the fine white sand cool beneath them. For a moment, she simply lay there, listening to the steady rhythm of his breathing, her hand resting lightly on his chest.Theodore's eyes opened slowly, blinking against the morning light. His arm was still wrapped protectively around her, and when he noticed her watching him with sleepy affection, a slow smile spread across his face."Morning," he murmured, voice still husky from sleep."Morning," she whispered back. They lay there for a while in comfortable silence, the world around them beginning to stir. The air smelled of salt and faint smoke, and the cool breeze rustled the palm trees around the campfire.Nadia lay on her back on the sand, her arm brushing Theodore’s as they stared up at the constellations. It felt surreal, being here—on this quiet island, away from the chaos and lies, away from the noise of expectations and reputations. For once, everything was calm. There were no reporters, no pretending, no pretending to be strangers or enemies or anything else. Just them, raw and real. She turned her head to look at him. Theodore was quiet, his expression relaxed in a way she had only recently begun to recognize. Gone was the cold billionaire with walls made of steel. Here beside her lay the man who held her when s

The night was alive with the sounds of the ocean's waves crashing gently against the shore, and the warmth from the campfire flickered in the cool evening breeze. The sky above was dotted with countless stars, their light twinkling in the vast expanse, untouched by the noise of the world. The island, isolated and tranquil, was the perfect escape from everything—the world they had left behind, the lives they had built, and the contract that tied them together.Nadia and Theodore lay side by side on the soft, white sand, their bodies barely touching but an invisible tension between them, as if the night itself was holding its breath. The fire crackled between them, sending a warmth that contrasted with the coolness of the island air. The flames danced, casting long shadows on the sand, while the soft light illuminated their faces in a way that made the world feel smaller—just the two of them, lost in time and space.Nadia stared up at the stars, her thoughts drifting back to the very fi

She frantically touched her clothes, her hands skimming over the fabric of her tank top and shorts. As she opened her eyes, the soft light of morning poured into the room, bathing everything in a warm, golden glow. Her gaze shifted, and her heart nearly stopped when she saw Theodore's face so close to hers. For a brief moment, everything felt surreal. His face was so peaceful, so calm, as if he was in a deep, undisturbed sleep. His jaw was sharp, the slight shadow of stubble covering it, his lips slightly parted. The light from the window highlighted the strong, angular features of his face, and his breathing was steady and relaxed. For a moment, she considered brushing it off, but something inside her urged her to speak the truth. She took a steadying breath, and when she spoke, her voice was quiet, but it carried the weight of honesty. "Everyone sees Theo as a beast," she began, her eyes flicking between Amy and Rene, then resting on Theodore for a brief moment. "They see his power, his coldness, the way he rules everything around him with an iron fist. And it’s true, in a way. He’s relentless, calculating, like a predator who never lets his guard down. The setting sun cast a warm, golden glow over the yacht as the evening rolled in, the soft hum of the ocean gently rocking them in the background. Dinner was being served, and the four of them were seated around the table—Nadia, Theodore, Rene, and Amy. The table was elegantly set, the scent of fresh seafood filling the air as the dishes were placed before them. Rene and Amy, though staff, had joined them for the meal, and it felt more casual than any dinner Nadia had ever imagined with someone like Theodore.Nadia found herself talking animatedly with Rene, his playful personality and teasing nature making her laugh often. Rene, 22, was the life of the conversation, cracking jokes and lightening the atmosphere with his loud, carefree demeanor. Amy, on the other hand, sat quietly beside him. She was only 19, with a delicate, almost shy aura, her dark eyes lowered as she ate, a soft smile lingering on her lips whenever she did speak. Despite the difference in personalities,
