Another yawn escaped my lips and I brought my hand up to cover my mouth. My eyes darted to my phone and a low sigh escaped my lips as I pressed the power button.

The screen lit up almost immediately and I glanced at the time which said 10:25 pm. The meeting has been going on for three hours straight. Are they not tired?!

I was sitting in Maverick's office where he had left me to go to his meeting. He said the meeting would be extremely long and thereby boring so I shouldn't bore myself out and sit down here. In all honesty, I think I would rather be in that meeting rather than alone in this office.

My eyes went to the table where I had placed the novel I was reading earlier. I sighed and reached for it. Feeling tired, I pulled my shoe off and was about to put my leg on the couch when I thought,
