A light snore distracted me from the sheets of paper in my hand. My eyes moved to the bed where my wife lay asleep.

She mumbled a few words and then continued sleeping. Her bare shoulders were visible due to the quilt that covered her body up to her shoulders because of the 'exercise' we just did.

A sigh escaped her lips making my lips spread into a smile. She makes me want to abandon my work and kidnap her to go on a vacation for a year.

That would actually be great! Going on a vacation for the New Year! But Ramon... A day after the New Year then.

With happiness, I picked up my phone and dialed Carter's number.

"Sir?" His groggy voice came through the phone. I brought the phone away from my ear and looked at the time that read 1:24 am.

"Were you asleep?" I asked and I heard a few shuffles before he replied,

"Not anymore, Sir. Did you need something?"

"Hm. As soon as the day breaks, book the first two earliest flights to Paris on January 2."
