Invitation to Dinner

I blinked at the wall in front of me, my mind far away. A low sigh escaped my lips and I dropped my head to the table. I reminisced back to what Maverick said the night of the event.

Get out of my head. Why can't I stop thinking about it?! That phrase, that phrase has been stuck in my head since that night. Whenever I thought about it, which is all the time, my heart hammered against my chest. I felt giddy and knots tied in my stomach.
