Andrew’s question hung in the air, creating a tense silence. Emily’s eyes widened, and she felt a sudden rush of emotions she had been trying to keep buried for so long. Without saying a word, she abruptly stood up and grabbed her bag, making for the door.

"Emily, wait!" Andrew called out, but she was already outside, the rain soaking her once more as she hurried away from the house.
