“Don’t you dare make any sudden movement.” A gruff voice said to Donovan as the cold metal of the gun touched the skin of his neck, sending cold shivers down his spine. “Hands up!”
He did as told.
“Don’t hurt me, is it money? I’ve got tons of it.” He tried so hard to hide the quiver in his voice.
The gun pressed even deeper into his neck as the masked man let out a mocking guffaw.
“Move psyche.” He nudged him towards the van, a few meters away from his car.
“My phone…” He said and the masked man picked it up before pushing him into the van.
“I think he’s alive!” One of the samaritans screamed as he pressed his nose against the cracked windshield of Ross’s car trying to decipher if the occupants were still alive.“An ambulance is on the way.” His wife shouted. In a few minutes, the loud siren blasted from hundreds of meters away. The paramedics alighted, ready to get to work. They finally pulled the car’s door open before successfully getting Ross and his girl out of the vehicle.“Both unconscious.” A paramedic said to her partner as they wheeled them into the ambulance, unhooking the stretcher as they got in.“Oxygen mask.” She called out and they were all strapped up.
“Here, put this on.” Dustin handed Donovan a mask which the latter hurriedly pulled on. Dustin followed suit.“Ever shot a gun before?” He asked as he slipped the key into the ignition. He turned it causing the vehicle to roar to life.“Yeah.”“Really?” He looked a tidbit shocked.“Yeah. You seem surprised.”“I am.”“I once worked at a shooting range.”“Oh that explains it.”“Pretty much.”&nb
“I’m trusting you Donovan.” Dustin said as they pulled up to the front of the house. “You wouldn’t regret it, trust me.” “I hope so.” They alighted from the car and approached the front door. Donovan rang the bell and almost immediately, Liam flung the door open. “Donovan?” He exclaimed in surprise as he pulled the grinning man into a hug. “Hello?” He looked up at a masked Dustin. “Hey.” He replied to the young man. “Donovan.” Ellie screamed at the foot of the stairs immediately her eyes fell on the love of her life, walking through the front door. “Baby!” He screeched as they ran into each other’s arms. “I missed you so much.” He grinned before they kissed. Her unclad legs were around his waist. He dropped her after they had their moment. “Hey man.” Ace said and he exchanged hugs with him and Audrey, everyone mildly unaware of Dustin’s presence in the room, all except from a really inquisitive Liam. “I’m glad you’re back Donovan but are we all going to ignore the masked man
TWO MONTHS LATER It’d been two months since Brittany and her kid had been thrown behind bars. Ace was back to his house and Audrey remained in hers. Liam was back at their previous place with the twins and other friends. At this point, Audrey considered them a responsible frat. Donovan and Ellie had never been more in love while sparks seemed to fly between Terry and Liz. There was only one strange development; Ace and Audrey had fallen apart. She’d avoided him for over a month and finally had the strength to confront him. She was headed to his office. His secretary’s desk was empty. “Hi Audrey.” He smirked as she walked into his office. “Well, good afternoon.” She plopped on the couch. “You’ve been acting off.” “You’ve been trying to ignore me for the past month.” “Yeah?” “Why?” “Your whole energy was really putting me off, your vibe was an even sadder story and don’t you even dare try to put the blame on all that went down.” “What? I would never.” He gasped before chucklin
His eyes fluttered open and he yawned as they darted around. The other side of the bed was empty, she. Was already awake. He stretched before sighing. It was the best he’d slept in a long while, in months. He peeked into the closet and some of his clothes were still in there and were neatly arranged. He grabbed a pair of balcony shorts and a t-shirt before trudging to the bathroom for a quick routine. He brushed his teeth after and got dressed before finger curling his wet hair, shaking it around in the air for volume. His shirt was fitted but not as tight as he remembered. He needed to start hitting the gym again. After a quick glance in the mirror, he walked out of the room and descended from the flight of stairs. She laid on the couch, eyes closed, an arm across her head, shielding her eyes from any form of light. He looked up at the clock. 11:45am. No wonder he felt rested. He hadn’t woken up at this time in a while. “Hey.” He stifled a yawn as he approached her, sprawled out
Audrey’s POVI rushed into the building in order to beat the clock and the terrible gusts of wind outside. It was my first day at work with… my husband. I mentally cringed at the title.I hurried into the elevator, my hair out of place due to the wind outside. Having my hair out was a bad idea. I hoped no one walks into the elevator while I try to get to my floor and rush to the convenience to fix my hair.Five more floors to go…I impatiently tapped my foot against the floor hoping the elevator would go faster.Three more floors to go…
Anthony sat in the dining area, keeping his grandma company as she made them dinner.“Did Kerry come around?”“Not at all.” She flashed a sad smile.“Alright.” He smiled as he received a text from Audrey. They’d exchanged contacts.“Had dinner?” He replied.“Is it a girl?” Nona teased with a huge smile plastered across her face.“No.” He chuckled.“Just a friend from work.”“A gir
Audrey bumped into Anthony in the lobby as she was headed to the elevator. “Hey.” He grinned. “Hi. Good morning.” They walked into the elevator together. “Thanks for coming through for me.” “Don’t mention.” She grinned. “See you at lunch?” He was about to get off. “Maybe.” She grinned as the doors closed. The elevator headed to the last floor. She walked out of the elevator, headed to her desk. Ace was at work already so she made her way to his office after droppin

She got up from her chair abruptly, making a sharp scraping sound as she turned on her heels and was on her way to the door. "Candy..." was all he could say before he was cut by the sound of the door being slammed in his face. She slammed the door and stormed out of his office. “I don’t need him or anyone else.” She got her document
Ana’s POVAs I headed to the cafeteria, I was searching for my money in my bag. I wasn't paying attention and I bumped into someone. I felt something cold spill on my shoes and the hem of my jeans. I looked down at it and saw that it was soda. I groaned and looked at the culprit. Ace.He was the hottest guy in this school. His muscles were taut and I could see his abs through his shirt. He had a sharp jaw and a small, perfect nose. "Are you done checking me out?” He sassed. "You wish I was checking you out, haven't you heard of watching your way while walking?” "At least a sorry will do."I said.“Wait, you bumped into me. Therefore, you don't have the right to sass at me." He said which made me even more furious. "Excuse me, you walked right into me, spilled your freaking drink on my shoe and you are telling me it’s all my fault? You’ve got some nerve motherfucker!" I yelled at him. “What?” He looked taken aback.“What?” I frowned further.“What’s wrong?” He asked tenderly.“

Dustin swerved onto the dirt road before speeding ahead, causing a cliff of dust behind the truck.“Stay put.” He said to Donovan as he parked the truck right abeg before walking towards a few guys.“Hey brother.” One of the men acknowledged Dustin.“How’s it going man?” He responded and exchanged handshakes with all three men, except the one on his knees, a bag over his head, his hands and legs; bound.”“Is that him?” Dustin asked the leader.“You tell me.” He gruffed, giving him the go-ahead to take the paper bag off. Dustin did and stare

Ace“Dude look, she is here.” Philip said as Jennifer walked through the hallways with her minions. She spared me a wink and walked past. She's been throwing herself at me since 11th grade till now. I was a senior and so was she, Philip and my other friends. We were a typical highschool boy crew with sleek cars, messy hairstyles, a top notch fashion sense, power and daddy’s money. We were used to girls throwing themselves at us. We were the-“Look she's leaving.” He said, dragging me from my train of thoughts. He was referring to Anastasia, as she was about to walk past and I bumped into her making her books fall as she bent down to pick them up.“Sorry, I'm so sorry.” She said sympathetically which amused me as I barked out my laughter. “Watch where you are going next time.” I said, making her gape at me. I knew why she was surprised. My clique never says sorry or acts nicely. We were always seen as a bunch of jerks. Word gets around.“Sorry.” she said once again. Well that was
I paced my room thinking of what to do. There was no excuse to give Dad. I was expected to get married in two months and finally take over what’s rightfully mine.I was beyond ready for the job’s stress and responsibility. But the marriage part, not so much.I was fine with my numerous one night stands. That lifestyle best suited me. It was also a bonus knowing I didn’t even need to speak to have them head over heels for me. My looks and appearance already seal the deal way ahead.I could easily date any girl of my choice but they are far too cheap for my taste. I wanted a girl who wouldn't drool over me. One who could stand her ground and not follow my every whim like a hopeless puppy.I poured myself a shot of vodka and downed it immediately, feeling the cool liquid burn down my throat. My hair was disheveled and I looked like crap. There was a stubble on my face and I had small bags under my eyes.I couldn’t process my thoughts at the moment but one stood out. I couldn’t lose it al
“Hi.” Marilyn said, walking up to him to pick him up. He was awake and still in a sour mood.“Leave me alone, I want my mama.” He said kicking and trying to resist her. “Okay baby, if you come out for breakfast and take a bath then I might get her back.” She lied. “Really?” he said as his eyes widened with excitement. She smiled and nodded. “Yay!” he yelled as he jumped up and down, then raised his hand signaling to her to pick him up which she did and closed the door. “So what would you like to eat?” She asked. “Pancakes and maple syrup please.” He smiled, quite excited. “Aye Aye little man!” She said with a mock salute, earning a fit of laughter from him. “My name is Ace. What's yours?” he asked. “Marilyn.” She said, smiling. “Marie.” He grinned cheekily.“Marie?” She chuckled.“I'm gonna call you Marie.” He said smiling, as he avoided her eyes. He was shy, Marilyn liked him already. “I like it.” She said making a blush creep up his cheek. He was so adorable. He had all o
