Ava’s eyes widened in fear immediately she saw the gun in Jake’s hand. He was off the chart this time around and she had to be careful before he did something crazy right now.

“Jake,” Ava began, trying to reason with him. “It doesn’t have to come down to this, you know that right? We can talk this out like adults without having to incite violence or anything that would lead to actions either of us would regret in the end.”
