Strange Feelings

Lana POV

I rose from the bed, yawned, and went round the window. In the distant, it was a new day, and the sun was just beginning to peek through the clouds over the city painting everything in gold. Donovan’s words still echoed in the back of my mind, but they didn’t feel as heavy as before.

I reached for my phone, half-expecting a message from him. But there was nothing. Part of me was relieved, the other part... well, maybe I was waiting for something I wasn’t ready to admit.

I got out of bed raised my hands for a stretch and walked over to the window. The sun was just starting to rise and it cast a soft, golden glow across the city. It looked peaceful like the world was offering me a clean slate.

I wanted to focus on myself today. No Donovan. I won't worry about what might happen next. I just want to focus on me, myself and I.
