Sarah pov.

Whoa there!

Bryan better keep Lana's name out of this crazy lady's mouth! I thought as I scooped up my little guy like he was a precious treasure.

He shot me a look, his brows all scrunched up. "Mom, I'm not a baby anymore! I'm six! You need to carry me like a pro," he said in a low voice, clearly trying to throw some sass my way. I couldn't help but chuckle, my eyes darting to Betty, who looked utterly baffled. But who cares? I’d go to the ends of the earth to protect my family—even if it meant taking out this chatterbox! I thought as I hugged my kiddo tight.

"Sarah, that kid seems to have something on his mind. Does he know Lana?" she asked, and Donovan shot me a look, scoffed, and strutted off, leaving me to deal with the drama queen solo.

"Not your concern, Betty," I shot back, leaving her to stew in her thoughts. I trudged upstairs with Bryan, letting out a heavy sigh. As we reached his room, I glanced out at the balcony, my ears picking up some ruckus from below.
