Donovan pov

It has been three days since I last encountered Lana, and her absence continues to weigh heavily on me. I found myself humming softly as I sat in the living room, contemplating whether I should reach out to her to understand the reasons behind her disappearance.

Suddenly, a gentle touch on my shoulders brought me back to reality. "Donovan, the blender is malfunctioning, and I could really use your help in the kitchen," Sarah said quietly, her hands clasped together and a hesitant smile on her face.

I turned my head slightly, puzzled. Why was she laughing? What could possibly be amusing? A nagging thought crossed my mind—perhaps she was about to ask for money, which made my heart sink.

"Donovan, you're unusually quiet," she remarked.

"Sarah, I have other priorities than rushing to your kitchen just to fix a blender," I replied, reclining comfortably on the couch.
