“Hey, are you alright?” Jeremy asked Leah, seeing her brooding on the balcony where she sat, arms folded, staring into the night sky.

Leah barely moved, her head tilting slightly in acknowledgment of his presence. “Yeah, I'm good,” she replied, her tone flat and unconvincing, looking up to see Jeremy holding a bag. “What's good?”

Jeremy stepped closer and handed the bag to her. “I got these for you,” he said simply, his voice warm.

Leah took the bag, her brows furrowing slightly as she opened it. Inside was a matching designer bag and shoes, the kind that would make any woman’s eyes sparkle with excitement. She looked up at him briefly before setting the bag aside.

Jeremy was buying her gifts more often but she didn't want to read any meaning into it. Unless he came out openly to say that he loved her, she wouldn't assume anything, to avoid having her expectations cut short, and getting hurt. Perhaps he was buying her those things to ensure she kept looking like the Billionaire's wife

Leah was on the phone with her mom, while still in Jeremy's bed. Jeremy couldn't keep his hands off Leah. The ticklish kisses distracted her and she couldn't help the laughter that bubbled up everytime his lips met her skin.“Stop it,” Leah said to him softly, giggling. She moved slightly trying to escape his playful advances. “I can hear you, Mama,” she said standing up from the bed, trying to regain some composure.“Wait. Leah yawned softly, stretching her arms as she woke up. “Good morning,” she greeted lazily, her voice still heavy with sleep.Jeremy, already awake and seated at the edge of the bed, turned to her with a warm smile. “Morning, beautiful,” he said, leaning over to plant a soft kiss on her cheek before standing and heading toward the bathroom. As Leah snuggled back under the duvet, savoring the warmth of the bed, she could hear the faint sounds of Jeremy in the bathroom. He eased himself and reached for his toothbrush, glancing at her reflection in the bathroom mirror.“Aren't you wondering what Big Margaret is up to?” he asked, his voice casual as he began brushing his teeth.Leah, who was still covering herself up with the duvet, sat up, imagining what Jeremy had said. She had been so happy lately that she hadn't even had the time to think about their enemies or what they could be up to.“That's right. She eliminated Caroline, her own twin. How deadly can she be?” Leah asked, wondering

He did for you more than a brother would do. You mean to see you never noticed how he looked at you?” Mama asked.Leah shook her head. “I don't have any magic, Ma. How could I have known?” Leah said, tears welling in her eyes.“But even I could see it. It was glaring. The noise from upstairs was becoming unbearable. Ivan and Keira were on each other's throats, their voices sharp and angry, cutting through the quiet of the evening. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence. Those two had a knack for finding reasons to fight.Leah stood at the bottom of the staircase, conflicted. She hated the chaos but couldn’t bear to let it continue. She took a step forward, prepared to intervene, but Mama’s hand on her arm stopped her.“Leave those two alone. Ivan and Keira weren’t twins, but they might as well have been with the way they fought and reconciled, like two halves of the same coin.“You don't want me touching your stuff, right? Big Margaret was dressed in a way that disguised how she looked. She wore dark sunglasses and a plain black face cap, pulling it low to cover her face. Leah stood in one of the aisles of the pharmacy, carefully examining the list of medications her mother needed. It had been a long day, and all she wanted was to purchase the items and head home. With Sarah, one had to always be suspicious. She was always up to something, to further her own ends.Leah was going to hide and find out what Sarah wanted in the pharmacy, but Sarah caught a glimpse of her and called out to her.“Hello, Leah,” Sarah greeted, her voice cheerful and warm.Leah was caught off guard by Sarah's warm greetings. She furrowed her brows. “Hello,” she replied, forcing a police smile.“I really wanted to thank you for taking care of my Jeremy while he recovered. He had picked up the result, thanked the doctor, and walked out of the hospital as if everything was fine. But everything was not fine.“What if Leah is actually my sister?” he thought. The thought alone made him feel sick. He had imagined a future with her, had felt something deep, something real. As Maggie fed Leah supper, she gazed at the young woman with a tenderness that had become second nature to her. The rhythmic motion of bringing the spoon to Leah’s lips was soothing, almost meditative. She had been asking her a few gentle questions, probing softly, trying to see if Leah’s memory had returned, even in the slightest way. But there was no sign of recognition in Leah’s eyes—only the same warmth and trust she had developed over time. Then, for the first time, Maggie’s eyes caught a faint mark around Leah’s neck. Her hand trembled slightly as she set the spoon down.“My dear, what happened to you on your neck?” Maggie asked, her voice a mix of curiosity and concern.Leah blinked in surprise, tilting her head slightly. “It’s always been there, Mom. You’ve never seen it?”Maggie’s heart pounded as her eyes remained fixed on the mark. It was impossible to ignore now. Her face betrayed her emotions, a mixture of surprise and something deeper—something unsettling. “Um… I haven’t

The rhythm of her breathing was steady, and for a moment, he allowed himself to forget everything. But then, she stirred.
