Rose’s POV:

I took a step back with my lips paused in a mean line and my heart pounding hard against my chest but his darkened gaze remained on mine, the phone still pressed to his ear. For a fleeting moment, I calculated the distance between us and how difficult it’d be for me to dash past him into the streets but I knew it wasn’t possible, not with the security guard behind me. My chances were non-existent and that only made my heart hammer more. Maybe I should have planned better.

Still glaring at me, he pocketed his phone and his eyes darted to the security man. He nodded curtly at him and my gaze instantly followed, for fear of what they were silently planning but in the next instant, I felt his strong arms around me as he tossed me over the shoulder and tossed his car keys to the guard who stepped out of the way.

“Let me go!” I screamed at the top of my voice, pounding my fists against his back but he ignored me, gingerly walking towards the house. “Let me go, you pervert!” I tried again, struggling hard and wiggling my body, all in an attempt to get down from his iron grip on my thighs but it only tightened and as if that wasn’t enough, he delivered a hard slap to my ass cheeks that had a squeak of surprise flying out of my lips. His audacity to hit me after kidnapping me infuriated me the more as I screamed profanities at him. Knowing he wasn’t who I’d thought him to be only edged me on as I was no longer scared of him.

“I’ll expose you to the world. I’ll tell them of your dirty secret and how you encourage human trafficking, you idiot,” I ranted on, still pounding his back with my fists but he made no move to drop me as he got into the house and climbed up the stairs, his steps well-coordinated as though I was as light as a feather. “I’ll get you arrested and make sure you rot in jail and pay for your sins, you bloody pervert. You should be prosecuted for sexual harassment and molestation. Let me…”

“If you were a good girl yourself, you wouldn’t have ended up here,” he finally spoke, cutting me off. But I preferred when he was quiet because his words only aggravated me the more.

“You have no right to judge me. You know nothing about me,” I fired back.

“Yeah? Maybe I know nothing about you but that’s all irrelevant now. What’s relevant is that I bought and paid for you and my money will work for me, and soon you’ll be on your back, with your legs spread widely, doing what you know how to do best, pet,”

Red-hot anger seared through me and I wanted nothing more than to fire a bullet through his skull and watch life slip out of him but my thoughts were interrupted when he suddenly stopped at the door of the room he’d led me from earlier that morning. Quickly, he unlocked it and got in before placing me on my feet.

“Take off your clothes,” he ordered in that clipped voice that I once feared but now, it irked me so much. “Now,” he added when I remained still, glaring daggers at him. I gathered all of the anger and annoyance I was feeling and slapped him hard across the face for all of the degrading words he’d said to me, implying that I was merely his sex object.

If he felt the pain of the slap, he didn't show it as his expression remained stoic but in the next breath, he shoved me against the wall, with his arm to my throat and his thick thigh wedged between my legs to keep them wide apart in an uncomfortable way. His dark eyes narrowed to slits, his jaw clenching hard.

“This will be your only warning. Lay your filthy hands on me again and I’ll punish you so hard you’d wish you were never this bratty,”

I didn’t need a prophet to know I’d crossed my lane by slapping him and I knew he meant every word he said but I wasn’t sorry for my actions. He deserved it for degrading me, and I’d do it again until he learned some manners on how to treat a lady. But instead of saying all these, I chose to remain quiet to save myself. For all I knew, he could have other personality disorders that wouldn’t work in my favor if I chose to annoy him otherwise.

He stared at me for a long while before pulling away and taking a step back.

“Now, strip,” this time, his voice was cold and calm, and it scared me more than the anger he just showed yet, I wasn’t ready to bend to his will. He’d seen me naked when I was vulnerable and scared to die but not anymore. I wasn’t scared of him. He couldn’t possibly be more dangerous than Don Torelli.

I stood there, staring at him with so much hate, unyielding to his command. Only I wasn’t ready for his next move as he covered the space between us, grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the king-sized bed in a corner of the room, and forcefully pushed me down onto it with my face to the bed. I gasped in shock and struggled to get up but he successfully held me down, caging me in place with his body, while one of his palms held my wrists firmly behind me.

“Let me go!” I screamed, even though the words came out in a muffled tone but he ignored me as his free hand pushed my dress out of the way to reveal the sheer lacy panties I was wearing. In one pull, he ripped the material, exposing my ass. “What are you doing?” I shrieked, kicking my legs to stop him but he wasn’t deterred by my movements as he was straddling my thighs. Before I could utter another word, his palm landed hard on my ass cheek, causing me to scream as pain ricocheted through me. “How dare…”

Again, I was cut short by another hard slap on the same spot, increasing my pain. And he didn’t stop. He continued, ignoring my cries of agony, as he kept spanking me on the same spot until it was so sore that I couldn’t hold back the tears that were sliding down my cheeks. I didn’t count how many times he hit me, but it was almost ten minutes later when he finally stopped. Just when I thought he couldn’t do anything more, he wrapped his tie around my wrists, tied them up, and left me there. The sound of the door slamming shut announced his exit.

After he left, a silent sob escaped my lips as I struggled to free myself from the bind, believing the tie would slide free from my hands if I twist them a little but little did I know that the more I struggled to get free, the tighter the bound. It took me a while to finally realize I couldn’t do it without help and I gave up a deep sigh, my shoulders slumping in defeat as I relaxed on the bed, the reality of my situation crashing into me.

I’d never been beaten in such a manner all my life. My parents never laid their hands on me, but here I was, locked in the home of a random stranger, who was beating me up. This reality only fueled my need to escape from this prison. I couldn’t remain here and let him lay his hands on me whenever he pleased. He lacked human decency and empathy. He doesn’t care about me, and my emotions. All he wanted was to have me under his control, warm his bed, and play out his dirty fantasies.

I shuddered at the thoughts, sniffing as more tears rolled down my cheeks. I needed to escape and I’d do it at all costs.

I must have slept off in that position because the next time I saw him, I was in his arms and he was heading towards my designated bedroom but I closed my eyes back, and if he noticed I was awake, he didn’t show it in his expression. He got into the room and gently placed me on the bed before pulling the covers over me. For a moment, he hovered over me, petting my hair gently, then he released a deep breath and exited the room.

As soon as I was alone, I sat up and my eyes darted to the open window to see it was dark outside. I must have been asleep for a very long while and my body ached from how long I’d slept. My eyes sought after the fancy clock sitting on the dresser to see it was past 8 pm. I was surprised by how long I’d slept but at the same time, I was glad I didn’t have to deal with the man for all of that time.

I also noticed the tray of food the housekeeper had left in the morning still sitting there untouched. As if on cue, my stomach rumbled and I tried reaching for it, but I stopped myself. I couldn’t remember the last time I ate, and I was certainly not going to eat in this house. What if more sedatives have been added to the food to make me unconscious so he can have his way with me? The thought of being vulnerable to his assault scared me shitless and I quickly looked away from the food, although my mouth desperately watered for a taste.

I returned my attention to the night sky, wondering what has become of my life. It felt as though I was dangling in uncertainty, waiting for anyone to decide my fate. First, the Don, now this stranger who claims to have bought me at a BDSM auction. I was tired of being on the run, but I knew it was far from being over. I needed to take control of my life and the only way it’d happen is if I get away from this man.

Staring into the night, another plan began formulating in my head. I could quickly escape this night without raising any alarms to myself or drawing attention. From my morning escapade, I knew the perimeters of the compound and I could navigate them. With this plan, I laid down, staring at the clock and waiting for my moment to arrive.

It took almost forever but then my moment finally came. It was 12 am on the clock and I didn’t care that it was the dead of the night. I was hellbent on escaping this slavery and so I began my mission. As quietly as I could, I slinked out of my room and hurried down the stairs barefooted. The house was as silent as a graveyard and I could only hope that everyone was fast asleep. I had no idea if another guard was outside just like in the morning but I peeped from one of the windows and it was all clear. Slowly, I opened the front door and made a run for the gate, not bothering to lock the door. Getting away was my first and only priority but I should have known it was too easy. The moment I laid a hand on the gate, a loud alarm began blaring. My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach, and a cold shiver ran down my spine, filling me with dread.

As if my legs had a mind of their own, they turned around and there he was, out of his business suits and clad in gray sweats that hung low on his hips, his tousled bed hair with the stands falling to his forehead, coupled with his darkened sleep eyes, making him look like a Greek God dropped from hell to torment me.

A shaky breath slipped from my lips.

“I thought you were smarter,”

I listened as she creeped into the room, breathing heavily and the urge to open my eyes and let her know I could see her and to even demand what she was doing in my bedroom at this time of the night, was strong but I pressed it down and decided to let my senses lead me. How I knew it was her? Easy! She must have had no idea that the guard that had been around that day was only there to escort me to a function, and Greta isn’t a live-in maid. My home is well secured. So, it was just the two of us.For a moment, I didn’t hear any sounds except the faint smell of her body wash sailing into my nostril but then I felt the shadow cast over my face, blocking the soft glow of the lamp sitting on the nightstand. At this moment, I knew I had to open my eyes but I wasn’t prepared for what I saw. She was standing over me, a butter knife raised above her wit

My eyes slowly opened to see I was still in the confined space of the van, but it was no longer moving. This realization had me quickly sitting up as it dawned on me that they’d arrived at their destination. It meant I was at the Don’s home, and soon I’d be facing my fate. A cold shiver racked my entire body, making goosebumps break out of my skin. I exhaled a shaky breath and tried to stretch my aching limbs while my heart raced with trepidation, as different thoughts of what would soon become of me crowded my mind. I was still lost in my head and the fear threatening to eat me up when I heard the almost silent thuds of footsteps beside the van.“Is she still out?” the gravelly voice I’d heard from earlier on sailed into my ears. “Good, it would make this easier. I’ve spoken to their boss and his men would be out in a minute,”Eerie silence ensured for a moment before another strange m

As though he was immune to the thick waves of fear rolling off me, his eyes roamed my entire being, slowly drifting from my eyes, down to my neck, down to the v-plunge of the robe. It felt as though he was meticulously undressing me with his eyes and it had me squirming underneath his hot gaze. A thrill suddenly ran down my spine and my body shivered when his eyes finally made it back to mine before staring past, to the glass of drink still sitting on the counter. Lost in his presence, I’d forgotten he’d caught me helping myself to a drink in his liquor cabinet.“A good choice,” he murmured, nodding to the half-filled bottle of whiskey. “Would set the pace for the night,” He smirked and my heart dropped further. The urge to know what he was going to do to me, had me drawing in a shaky breath as I finally summoned the courage to ask him.“W-what would you do to me?”

Rose’s POVMy eyes caught onto the soft rays of sunlight streaming into the bedroom as I began to wake from my sleep. Memories of the previous night were the first thing that flooded my brain, especially the images of Jian taking me to bed. Instantly, I shot up to a sitting position and stared down at myself to see I was still clothed in the robe and nothing seemed to be out of place. With this reassurance, I drew in a deep breath to calm my palpitating heart as I moved to rest my back on the headboard.Jian. His name popped into my head again and I found myself smiling. It was a nice name, fitting for his good looks. I had the urge to say it out loud just to know how it’ll sound rolling off my tongue and I did.“Jian,”As if the name was a secret memory unlock, my thoughts traveled to our little game and how freely he’d been around me, dropping his mask to show me his calm and carefree side. It had made me relax and made me feel like he was a handsome stranger I’d just met at a bar

When I saw that my antics weren’t working on her, I let my anger fully take over. I’d approached her, hoping she’d understand my predicament as a fellow woman and help me get out of the house but she’d outrightly refused even before hearing me out.“I see you’re no better than your master. SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2023 Hello, lovelies, thank you for giving my book a chance and for sticking with me all through the months I couldn’t update due to personal reasons. Rosie and Jian’s story has finally come to an end and so has the series, The Ruthless Billionaires. While I’m excited for this end, I’ll miss the characters greatly but I have the thoughts of writing a sequel that’ll be named after the series, THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRES. This sequel will tell the love story of Romeo Torelli and Samantha Davis and also Sylvia Lancaster and Clifford Davidson and how it all started. If you’d be interested in reading this, please leave a comment below as your responses will spur me on, but if I get no response or a low outcome, I will end the series with this book and there will be no sequel. _Six months later_Rosie stared at her reflection in the mirror and did a little twirl, with a bright smile on her face. She was dressed in a bright red sleeveless midi-dress that hugged her figure, accentuating her hips and petite curves. Her dark hair was styled into waves, flowing down her shoulder and her makeup was done to the minimal in soft pastel shades that made her soft brown eyes pop. Black Saint Laurent sandal heels adorned her feet, with a black clutch and the sparkling diamond necklace and teardrop earrings she had on put the finishing touches to her elegant look. She was dressed to go on her first formal romantic date with Jian and she was excited. He was coming to pick her up from her campus apartment. She’s been dreaming of this date for the past three months, from the moment she returned to school to finish her last semester and get her degree. And the day was finally here. Rosie’s POVI stretched my limbs across the bed, and they landed on the cold spot where Jian’s body was supposed to be. Immediately, my eyes shot open and I stared at his spot to see it was empty and I was all alone in bed. At first, my heart skipped a beat but I tried to calm my nerves as I gathered the strength to rise to a sitting position. The sun was up, casting its rays into the room from the opened window. My gaze strayed to the bedside clock to see it was past 10 a.m., yet I made no move to get out of bed. Instead, I glanced around for any indication that Jian was at home.I couldn’t control how I felt when I woke up and thought he’d left me. It was the first thing that registered in my head but I told myself he wouldn’t leave me, and he may just be in his office getting some work done. I remained seated in bed, and a yawn slipped from my lips at the same time as my stomach rumbled from hunger. The last time I had anything to eat was at the hospital. The previous night had be

Rosie’s POV“Where is Greta?” I asked again, when he remained quiet. This time, he exhaled and stepped back from me. A frown marred my face as I stared at him in confusion, waiting for a response. He was acting strange and it was worrisome. Initially, he’d said she didn’t work in his home anymore but why couldn’t he just tell me where she now works? “Why did she leave and where has she gone to?” I took a step towards him and touched his arm. This time, he moved closer and held my shoulders. His eyes met mine and I saw an expression I didn’t recognize etched on his face. It was like a mix of anger and remorse.“Come, sit,” he gently pushed me back until I sat on the sofa behind me and he took his seat next to me.“Jian…” I was getting agitated from the way he was acting and he could see it.“I’ll tell you everything, I promise but I don’t think you’re ready to hear it, Rosie. I don’t want to spoil your mood,”“I can’t deal with the anxiety. Please tell me, what happened?” Again, he dr

Rosie’s POVThe silence that surrounded me as I slowly began to regain consciousness was serene. I couldn’t recall the last time I’d experienced such a feeling. Slowly, my eyes snapped open and they were met with the pristine white ceilings. For a minute, I kept staring at the ceiling but then from my peripheral vision, my eyes caught the silhouette of a body. Without hesitation, I turned to see it was Jian. He was seated on the only available chair in the room, and his head was buried in his palms. I couldn’t see his face on the expression on it but his pose screamed of worry. At that moment, I tried to sit up but then I felt a pull from the needle of the IV that was attached to my arm and it suddenly dawned on me that I was in a hospital room. All thoughts to call Jian’s attention suddenly fled from me as I tried to recall how I’d ended up here but it didn’t take long for all of the memories to start flooding me.I remembered it all. Jian’s POVI arrived in Beijing the next evening, following the Don’s words. After Lina’s death, the news of Rosie’s disappearance was suddenly everywhere, and it was linked to Lina’s arrest. How it got released to the media, I had no idea. It was as if everything was a grand plan and we were playing into the hands of whoever this mastermind was.How Lina had died was yet to be explained. All the police had was a sniper had been hired to take her out, but they had no identity of the one responsible or who even hired the said sniper to kill her. At this point, everyone was a suspect in my head. I couldn’t stop wondering if it was Sylvia at work. From what I’d come to know of the woman, she was a very dangerous woman and had connections in high places. I wouldn’t be surprised to know that she killed Lina for coming after her daughter, but why would she do that, when Rosie was yet to be found? It didn’t make sense to me, and I was still trying to understand what the Don meant by there’s

My dad had called to confirm the news, and now it was my younger sister, Lara on the phone.“It's been on for the past three months,”“Oh wow, that’s such a long time. I never expected such from Lina. I dropped my phone and drew in a deep breath that I exhaled almost immediately before rising to my feet to head out to the mailbox. It was almost 10 pm and it was my third day in New York. After Don Torelli contacted me on the night of the day I met with Williams, I told him all I knew about the case and Rosie’s abduction. He assured me to stay calm and that he’d take it from there, as the video evidence I’d handed over to him had helped trace the genesis of this issue and now, he’d called to inform me that he’d been able to gather the evidence I needed to nail Lina Davidson, and according to him, the final divorce hearing between her and her husband, Clifford, was the next morning.I did not doubt that Lina would be
