Chapter Twenty: Seeing A Different Side Of Him

Tamara’s POV:

Night had fallen, and Trevor left after bringing me blueberries. I happily ate them like a baby given breast milk. After that, I told Jesse I could go home now that I felt better, and surprisingly, he agreed. As we headed towards the door, Aunt Serena appeared from her room, catching us off guard.

"Where are you two going?" she asked, her tone authoritative.

"I'm taking Tamara home. It's late, and she has school tomorrow," Jesse explained.

"No, she's not going anywhere," Aunt Serena refuted firmly, turning to me with a request. "Tamara dear, I'll be here for a week. Would you mind staying to keep me company?"

I hesitated, overwhelmed by her insistence. Before I could respond, Aunt Serena anticipated my answer. "I know you won't refuse. Thank you, Tamara," she said, leaving me speechless.

"Aunt Serena," Jesse interjected out of frustration.

"Stay out of this, Jesse," she scolded him, taking my hand and leading me to the dining table for dinner. "Join us, Jesse," she instr
